Abstract

Understanding the chosen exit paths of graduates is essential for evaluating the effectiveness of the SHS program and guiding future curriculum development. This study aims to trace the exit paths of senior high school graduates from a higher education institution in Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental, focusing on their progression into tertiary education, employment, entrepreneurship, and middle-level skills development. The study employed a quantitative approach using a descriptive research design. Data were collected from 371 randomly selected graduates using questionnaires. The responses were analyzed using statistical techniques such as the T-test, mean, percentage, standard deviation, and frequency. The results reveal that most of the respondents were female, primarily aged between 20-21 years old, with a significant number coming from families earning less than 10,000 currency units. A majority of graduates pursued higher education, while a smaller portion engaged in employment, entrepreneurship, or middle-level skills development. The study found that the senior high school program was perceived as effective in preparing students for higher education and employment and most effective in fostering entrepreneurship. However, while the program is rated as effective in middle-level skills development, it receives the lowest rating among the constructs evaluated. Notably, no significant differences were found in the perceived effectiveness of the program when grouped according to profile. The senior high school program is generally effective in achieving its educational goals.

Abstract

This study examined the effect of firm revenue base on the corporate value of listed food and beverage firms in Nigeria, using market value added as the measure of corporate value. The study adopted an ex-post facto research design and relied on secondary data obtained from the annual reports and financial statements of twelve purposively selected firms listed on the Nigerian Exchange Group between 2012 and 2024. Panel estimated generalised least squares regression analysis were used to analyze the data. The findings revealed that firm revenue base has a significant and positive effect on market value added at 5% significance level, indicating that increases in revenue enhance the corporate value of firms (? = 0.762651; p = 0.0000). In conclusion, firms with stable and growing revenue streams are better positioned to generate shareholder wealth. The study recommends that management should implement aggressive but sustainable revenue expansion strategies, such as product diversification, market penetration, and pricing optimization, and also give a special attention to data-driven marketing, customer retention programs, and investments in efficient distribution channels, as these initiatives can significantly boost revenue while controlling operational costs.

Abstract

This study analyzed the strategic modernization of Pituffik Space Base within the context of deteriorating Arctic geopolitics and the emergence of hypersonic threats. Utilizing Stephen Krasner’s framework of Organized Hypocrisy, the research examined the contradiction between the formal recognition of Danish sovereignty and the actual strategic behavior of the United States between 2020-2026. A qualitative analysis of defense agreements, diplomatic documents, and infrastructure projects was conducted to identify discrepancies between stated norms and operational realities. The results demonstrated that the United States maintained de jure sovereignty through symbolic acts, such as renaming the facility, while simultaneously executing unilateral military expansion and political intervention. The findings indicated that this decoupling allowed for a sovereignty of permissions, where the host nation retained legal title while the external power secured total operational access. The study concluded that this arrangement minimized transaction costs for the great power while preserving the diplomatic legitimacy of the semi-sovereign territory.

Abstract

This study investigates the determinants of the merit system through the mediating role of talent management at the Regional Secretariat of the Riau Islands Province. Specifically, it examines the effects of spiritual motivation, innovative behavior, competence, and work culture on the merit system, both directly and indirectly through talent management. The research employs Structural Equation Modeling using AMOS (SEM-AMOS) to analyze data collected from 160 respondents selected based on the Slovin formula. The findings indicate that spiritual motivation, innovative behavior, and work culture exert a significant positive effect on the merit system, whereas competence demonstrates a positive but statistically insignificant direct effect. All four independent variables significantly influence talent management, which subsequently mediates their relationships with the merit system. The mediation analysis confirms that talent management plays a significant intermediary role, as spiritual motivation, innovative behavior, competence, and work culture each positively and significantly affect the merit system through this mechanism. Additionally, the simultaneous effect of these variables on the merit system via talent management is statistically significant. The coefficient of determination (R²) values demonstrates strong explanatory power, with 0.790 for talent management and 0.886 for the merit system. These results underscore the strategic importance of spiritual motivation, innovative behavior, and work culture in strengthening the merit-based governance of civil servants, particularly when integrated through structured talent management practices. Practically, the study highlights the necessity of embedding cultural and spiritual values, promoting innovation, and enhancing professional competence within public sector human resource management frameworks.
