Literatify : Trends in Library Developments is an academic journal that publishes the current issues regarding library developments. The journal is a bi-annual publication that is officially organized and published by UPT Perpustakaan in collaboration with Jurusan Ilmu Perpustakaan UIN Alauddin Makassar. The journal is provided for librarians, subject analysts, library science students, information specialists, information managers, researchers who need or are interested in keeping up to date with the most recent issues and developments in libraries. We regularly publish the issues in March and September. The journal only accepts research-based papers. All submitted papers will initially review by journal editors and if it was matched with the journal scope, the paper will be then sent to our peer-reviewers. We only accept manuscripts written in Bahasa Indonesia or English.

Abstract

Collection is a term that is used widely in the library world to describe what library materials should be held in the library. Types of library collections, printed collections, non-printed collections, graphic material collections, electronic collections. American Corner is one of the services in collaboration with the Unand library. There are 4 corner services at the Unand library, namely American Corner, Franch Corner, Minangkabau Corner and BI Corner. American Corner itself is a service under the American embassy in Indonesia which aims to introduce, attract and broaden Unand students' knowledge about all things about America. The method used is qualitative, namely in the form of direct interviews with related parties. After the data has been collected, the writer will analyze the results of the interview and make a way for how the use of this collection can be used by all Unand students. Koleksi adalah suatu istilah yang digunakan secara luas di dunia perpustakaan untuk menyatakan bahan perpustakaan apa saja yang harus diadakan di perpustakaan. Jenis koleksi perpustakaan, koleksi tercetak, koleksi non cetak, koleksi bahan grafika, koleksi dalam bentuk elektronik American Corner merupakan salah satu layanan yang bekerjasama dengan perpustakaan Unand. Layanan corner di perpustakaan Unand sendiri memiliki 4 yaitu American Corner, Franch Corner, Minangkabau Corner dan BI Corner. American Corner sendiri merupakan layanan di bawah lembaga kedutaan Amerika yang ada di Indonesia yang bertujuan memperkenalkan, serta menarik minat dan menambah wawasan mahasiswa Unand tentang segala hal tentang Amerika. Metode yang dipakai ialah kualitatif yaitu berupa wawancara langsung terhadap pihak yang terkait. Setelah data terkumpul maka penulis akan menganalisis hasil dari wawancara dan melakukan cara untuk bagaimana pemanfaatan koleksi ini dapat dimanfaatkan oleh seluruh mahasiswa Unand.

Abstract

This article aims to find out and describe how the interior design of the Padang Panjang City library includes a public reading room. A storage room (specifically for reference collections) and children's reading room. The data from this study were obtained from direct observations in the field by the author. Data analysis used descriptive qualitative data analysis which begins with collecting data, analyzing the data, then presenting the data obtained and then making inferences on the results obtained. From the results of data collection, it can be concluded that the interior design of the Padang Panjang City library has followed the applicable standards which based on color selection, furniture, ergonomics, and lighting provide comfort and friendliness to visitors. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui serta mendeskripsikan bagaimana desain interior di perpustakaan Kota Padang Panjang  yang meliputi ruang baca umum. Ruang tandon (khusus koleksi referensi) dan ruang baca anak. Data dari penelitian ini didapat dari hasil pengamatan langsung ke lapangan oleh penulis. Analisis data yang digunakah analisis data kualitatif deskriptif yang diawali dengan mengumpulkan data, menganalisis data, lalu menyajikan data yang didapat dan kemudian melakukan penyimpulan terhadap hasil yang didapat. Dari hasil pengumpulan data didapat kesimpulan bahwa desain interior perpustakaan Kota Padang Panjang sudah mengikuti standar yang berlaku dimana berdasarkan pemilihan warna, perabotan, ergonomi, dan pencahayaan memberikan kenyamanan dan ramah terhadap pengunjung.

Abstract

Circulation services, in English circulation is “circulation”, which is a round in the world of libraries, this service division serves as a lending service and a customer service. In the world of libraries, this service is very important, therefore the services in this section require library management personnel to be equipped with knowledge and skills in managing libraries, especially in the circulation services section. From this description, it can be concluded that circulation services are activities that must be in the library related to the borrowing and returning library materials so that they can be used optimally by users. This circulation service aims to make the use of collections effective and the control of collections in the library can be considered because they can know when the users borrow and return the collections borrowed from the library, therefore the collections can be performed well. If the user is late in returning the collection, he will be subject to a fine that has been agreed upon and determined by the library. Layanan sirkulasi, dalam bahasa inggris sirkulasi ialah “circulation” ialah putaran di dunia perpustakaan bagian layanan ini bertugas untuk sebagai pelayanan peminjaman dan pelayanan pemustaka. Di dalam dunia perpustakaan layanan ini sagatlah penting oleh karena itu layanan yang ada bagian ini Untuk itu membutuhkan tenaga pengelola perpustakaan perlu dibekali pengetahuan dan keterampilan mengelola perpustakaan khususnya pada bagian pelayanan sirkulasi. Dari uraian tersebut bisa disimpulkan bahwa pelayanan sirkulasi adalah kegiatan yang harus ada di dalam perpustakaan yang berhubungan dengan bagian peminjaman dan pengembalian bahan pustaka agar dapat dipergunakan oleh pengguna secara maksimal. Layanan sirkulasi ini bertujuan agar pemakaian koleksi bisa efektif dan pengawasan terhadap koleksi di perpustakaan bisa diperhatikan karena bisa tau kapan pemustaka meminjam dan mengembalikan koleksi yang di pinjam di perpustakaan oleh karena itu koleksi dapat terja denan baik. Jika pemustaka tersebut terlambat mengembalikan koleksi maka akan dikena denda yang telah disepakati dan ditetapkan oleh perpustakaan tersebut.

Abstract

This research discusses "The Effectiveness of the Floating Mobile Library Service of the Library and Archives Service in Gusung Island, Selayar Islands Regency". The main problem in this research is how the effectiveness of the floating mobile library service of the Library and Archives Service in Gusung Island, Selayar Islands Regency and the efforts made to improve the floating mobile library services of the Selayar Islands Regency Library and Archives Service. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the floating mobile library services of the Library and Archives Service in Gusung Island, Selayar Islands Regency and to determine the efforts made to improve the floating mobile library services of the Library and Archives Service in Gusung Island, Selayar Islands Regency. This type of research uses This type of descriptive research uses a qualitative approach and uses data collection methods by observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the effectiveness of the floating mobile library services of the Library Service in Gusung Island, Selayar Islands Regency, is divided into 4 elements. Based on the facilities, the floating mobile library has adequate facilities. Based on the collection, the floating mobile library provides various collections of library materials that are tailored to the needs of the user. Based on its services, floating mobile library services are carried out once or twice a week and often competitions are held. Based on the library, this floating mobile library is well received by the community and children in the archipelago are also getting more active in reading. And for the efforts to improve the service of the floating mobile library, the Office of Library and Archives of Selayar Islands Regency, among others, is to improve the service facilities for the floating mobile library, the budget, and the competence of librarians or librarians. Penelitian ini membahas tentang “Efektivitas Layanan Perpustakaan Keliling Terapung Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan di Pulau Gusung Kabupaten Kepulauan Selayar”. Pokok permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana keefektifan layanan perpustakaan keliling terapung Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan di Pulau Gusung Kabupaten Kepulauan Selayar dan upaya yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan layanan perpustakaan keliling terapung Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kabupaten Kepulauan Selayar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keefektifan layanan perpustakaan keliling terapung Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan di Pulau Gusung Kabupaten Kepulauan Selayar dan untuk mengetahui upaya-upaya yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan layanan perpustakaan keliling terapung Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan di Pulau Gusung Kabupaten Kepulauan Selayar.Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan melakukan pendekatan kualitatif dan menggunakan metode pengumpulan data dengan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keefektifan layanan perpustakaan keliling terapung Dinas Perpustakaan di Pulau Gusung Kabupaten Kepulauan Selayar dibagi menjadi 4 unsur. Berdasarkan fasilitasnya, perpustakaan keliling terapung memiliki fasilitas yang memadai. Berdasarkan koleksinya, perpustakaan keliling terapung menyediakan berbagai macam koleksi bahan pustaka yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan pengguna. Berdasarkan layanannya, layanan perpustakaan keliling terapung dilaksanakan satu sampai dua kali dalam seminggu dan seringkali diadakan lomba-lomba. Berdasarkan pemustakanya, perpustakaan keliling terapung ini diterima dengan baik oleh masyarakat dan anak-anak di daerah kepulauan juga semakin giat membaca. Dan untuk upaya peningkatan layanan perpustakaan keliling terapung Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kabupaten Kepulauan Selayar, antara lain peningkatan fasilitas layanan perpustakaan keliling terapung, anggaran, dan kompetensi pustakawan atau petugas perpustakaan.

Abstract

This study discusses the librarian's strategy in increasing the percentage of visits to children's services at the Library and Archives Office of Sijunjung Regency. The purpose of this research is to find out how the strategies librarians use in increasing visits to children's services and what are the obstacles faced by librarians in increasing visits to children's services at the Library and Archives Office of Sijunjung Regency. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and literature. The results of this study are the strategies employed by librarians in increasing the percentage of visits to first-child services, doing competitions, be it coloring competitions, story competitions, and painting competitions. Second, doing storytelling and tutoring activities. Third, attracting children with a mobile library. As for the obstacles faced by librarians, namely the lack of facilities or facilities and infrastructure in children's services, limited labor and librarians, as well as views from the community. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai strategi pustakawan dalam meningkatkan persentase kunjungan terhadap layanan anak di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kabupaten Sijunjung. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana strategi yang dilakukan pustakawan dalam meningkatkan kunjungan di layanan anak dan apa saja kendala yang dihadapi oleh pustakawan dalam meningkatkan kunjungan di layanan anak di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kabupaten Sijunjung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakana berupa observasi, wawancara dan kepustakaan. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu strategi yang dilakukan oleh pustakawan dalam meningkatkan persentase kunjungan di layanan anak pertama, melakukan lomba baik itu lomba mewarnai, lomba bercerita, dan lomba melukis. Kedua, melakukan kegiatan storytelling dan bimbingan belajar. Ketiga, menarik pemustaka anak dengan perpustakaan keliling. Adapun hambatan yang dihadapi oleh pustakawan yaitu kurangnya fasilitas atau sarana dan prasarana di layanan anak, keterbatasan tenaga kerja dan pustakawan, serta padangan dari masyarakat.

Abstract

Institutional Repositories (IR) have been owned by many higher education institutions as a medium for the preservation, storage, and dissemination of scientific works. IR is also known as a scientific communication medium for academics/scientists. This case study describes in general the role of UIN Alauddin Makassar’s IR since it was first launched at the end of 2016 until now. The data were obtained from the experience and empirical observations of the researchers, literature review, interviews, and other supporting documentation. The results showed that the UIN Alauddin Makassar’s IR has been playing roles in; digital preservation, building scientific communication, establishing synergy between libraries and faculty communities, supporting learning and research processes, and improving library skills and services. Due to space limitations, this study does not describe in more detail the roles mentioned. This research has implications for the management of IR at this campus in particular, and other IRs in other universities.
