Abstract

Thinking is a series of mental processes of many kinds such as recalling things, fantasizing, memorizing, counting in the head, connecting some understanding, creating a concept or predicting various possibilities. Reasoning ability is a thought process that seeks to connect known facts or individuals to a conclusion. This research aims to find out students' reasoning ability in solving problems in statistical materials with a Realistic Mathematics Approach Class IX SMP Negeri 209 Jakarta. This type of research is qualitative descriptive with the number of subjects used, namely 1 person. The selected subjects are students who get the highest scores from the process of conducting tests carried out on 37 students. The instruments used are tests and interviews. Tests are used to select subjects and interviews are conducted to find out the student's reasoning ability in solving problems on the opportunity material. The data analysis technique used is to use qualitative data analysis, namely using the stage of data collection, data presentation and conclusion draw. Based on the results of data analysis conducted on subjects, peers, and subject teachers, it was obtained that the subject in learning and in the process of solving questions during the interview process used reasoning skills. In this study, the subject met the indicators of reasoning ability used in this study, namely the ability to submit conjectures, the ability to compile evidence, provide reasons for solving problems carried out, the ability to draw conclusions, and the ability to check the correctness of the answer.

Abstract

Learning is a two-way communication process, and teaching by the teacher as an educator while learning is done by learners or students. Mathematics learning conducted by teachers places less emphasis on aspects of student thinking. Especially using reason in solving various problems faced by students in the learning process. Teachers in learning only focus on the aspect of grades, namely good learning outcomes must be achieved by students. The purpose of this research is to find out the reasoning ability of students on the subject of the one-variable linear equation system through problem-based learning of class VII of SMP Negeri 11 Seram Barat. The type of research used is qualitative descriptive, which is research that aims to obtain data and describe students' deductive reasoning skills on the subject of the one-variable linear equation system through problem-based learning of class VII of SMP Negeri 11 Seram Barat. The number of subjects in this study amounted to 1 person. The instruments used are tests and interviews. The data analysis technique used is qualitative descriptive. Based on the results of the data analysis obtained that the reasoning ability of the subject of class VII SMP Negeri 11 Seram Barat on the material of the linear equation system of one variable obtained the tendency of the subject to have reasoning ability. This is known by the way the problem is used by the subject which starts from general things that have been known the truth and then obtains a more specific conclusion. The subject in his learning has three reasoning indicators used in this study, submitting allegations based on the way the problem is solved by the subject, the subject can give reasons for the arguments presented at the conclusion of the problem in the interview process, and the subject can check the validity of an argument based on the resolution of the problem

Abstract

This research is backgrounded because of the lack of mathematics teachers in applying learning methods that are in accordance with the characteristics of students and the material to be taught so that it affects learning outcomes in the classroom. The purpose of this study is for the implementation of Active, Creative, Effective, and Fun Learning in improving student learning outcomes in class X SMAS PGRI Bolo. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research which consists of four stages, namely action planning, action implementation, obervation and reflection with a total of 25 subjects. The data collection technique is by conducting tests and observations. Observation is carried out by an observer to observe the learning activities of teachers and students and the test is used to find out the learning outcomes of students after participating in learning activities. After analyzing the data on learning outcomes, it was obtained that the average score of students increased, namely in the initial test obtained an average score of 51.52 with a percentage of completion of 28.00%, increased in cycle I to 68.24 with a percentage of completion of 60.00% and increased significantly in cycle II to 80.16 with a percentage of completion of 92.00%

Abstract

The use of the SPSS 21 (Statistical Product and Service Solution) program in learning can assist students in conducting statistical data analysis. This research aims to find out the application of SPSS 21 program as a data processor in improving student learning outcomes in statistics material class XI SMK Muhammadiyah Ambon. This type of research uses Classroom Action Research, with the number of subjects used in the study amounting to 31 people. The instruments used in this study used tests and observations. Observation is used to find out the condition of the student learning process using the SPSS 21 program and test questions are used to find out the student learning results obtained after carrying out learning using the SPSS 21 program. The results of data analysis are known that learning using SPSS 21 is better when compared to the classical learning process. Student test results experienced an increase in learning results, namely on the initial test the average score obtained by students was 49.84 with a completion percentage of 16.13 percent, and increased in the implementation of cycle I tests where the learning process was carried out using SPSS 21 with an average score of 61.85 and a completion percentage of 61.29 percent, and increased again in the implementation of cycle II tests with an average score of 79.03 with a completion percentage of 90.32 percent.

Abstract

The thought processes practiced in school are limited to cognition, memory, and convergent thinking, while divergent thinking and evaluation are less noticed. Learning activities focused on recording, memorizing, and recalling, learning is concentrated on exercises that are procedural and mechanistic. This research aims to find out the critical thinking skills of students in solving trigonometric problems in grade XI of SMA Negeri 6 Medan. The type of research used is qualitative descriptive. The subjects in this study amounted to 1 person who was selected using the purposive sampling technique, which is the highest score of student test results. The instruments used are tests to find out the student's learning results as the basis for subject selection and interviews are used to find out the student's critical thinking skills. Data analysis used is qualitative data analysis consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion withdrawal. The results of data analysis obtained that the subject in the learning process and the process of solving the problem of trigonometric material has the ability to think critically. Subjects have three indicators of critical thinking skills used in this study, namely trying to know information well, providing reasons for problem solving, and looking for alternative solutions
