Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has a big impact on people's economic activities where there is an increase in family expenditure; basic needs cannot be met until people do not want to go to public places or facilities such as markets, malls or restaurants. This study was conducted in Medan City in January-August 2021. The number of participants in this study was 1029 families. The results show went to Market for last Month as many as 230 families (22.4%) and did not go to the Market during the last Month, as many as 515 families (50%). Of the 284 families whose family needs were not met, they were less likely to go to the Market during the last Month than as many as 197 families (19.1%). The Medan City Government must provide comfort for the community in carrying out buying and selling activities in public places such as markets, malls and restaurants during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Interest in reading is a strong desire accompanied by one's efforts to read. The purpose of this study was to find out how the strategy for developing children's reading interest in the Floating Library of Seberang Belawan Fisherman Village. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach, using data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the strategies used by the Floating Library in developing the reading interest of the children of the fishing village are; Learning with floaters, literacy activities, drawing, scholarship selection programs, volunteer development programs, Commemorating major holidays giving gifts in the form of snacks to children after completing activities, this is done so that children are motivated in carrying out the learning process at the Floating Libraries. Obstacles faced by volunteers at the Floating Library are that they only operate for one day a week, the service schedule is less effective to develop interest in reading for children from fishing villages, lack of facilities, isolated areas, lack of volunteer loyalty so that changes in library strategy in developing children's reading interest in The fishing village across Belawan occurred significantly, this is evidenced by the results of data analysis which stated that the increasing number of children participating in the learning program from 2014 was 20 students until now in 2020 there are 60 students in the Floating Library of the Seberang Belawan Fisherman Village.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of POCADI (Digital Reading Corner) in Fostering Community Reading Interest in the Astaka Eqs Mtq Tebing-High Corner Pulpit, the efforts made to foster reading interest and the obstacles experienced by POCADI (digital reading corner).The the method used in this study is a qualitative method using a descriptive approach. A qualitative method with a descriptive approach as a research procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from the people or behavior observed, while the data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicates that the efforts made by the Digital Reading Corner consist of collaborating with schools, improving facilities and infrastructure, promoting and socializing.

Abstract

This study discusses the Promotion Strategy at the UPT Library of the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Padangsidimpuan. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach. By using data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. The informants in this study were the head of the library and the librarian at the Padangsidimpuan State Islamic Institute Library (IAIN) who had been selected by according to researchers to the criteria of the research subject. The results of the study indicate that the library's strategy is to promote the Padangsidimpuan library (IAIN) on social media created by the library by creating a website so that users who access it get information about the Padangsidimpuan library (IAIN). Promotion through other social media with Facebook, Instagram and library promotion activities that contain updated information about the Padangsidimpuan library (IAIN). The library also carries out various activities to promote the Padangsidimpuan library (IAIN) such as webinars, user education and competitions organized by the Padangsidimpuan library (IAIN)

Abstract

Efforts to receive land and building taxes in South Labuhanbatu are strived to always increase every year, but in practice there are still problems, namely many people who pay less attention to paying taxes, people always wait for the due date to pay taxes, sometimes tax collectors feel difficulty in finding the address of the taxpayer to provide SPPT. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation, the informants in this study were the head of the section for determination, data management, billing and objections, PBB services, the Head of Control and the people of South Labuhanbatu. Test the validity of the data using triangulation techniques. Data analysis was carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the strategy carried out by the Regional Revenue Management Agency (PBB) to increase land and building tax revenues is quite good, which has increased for 2 years. Tax payments are made at the Bank of North Sumatra, or other E-commerce on the basis of cooperation, conducting intensive socialization and appeals to villages. The obstacle that hinders increasing PBB revenue in South Labuhanbatu so far is that taxpayers are not in place, and also taxpayers Taxes are always waiting for the due date, lack of awareness of land and building taxpayers, SIMDA applications are often problematic.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the strategy for developing e-journal collections at the University of Muhammadiyah Sumatra Utara (UMSU) Library and the role of librarians in developing e-journal collections. This type of research is descriptive research using a qualitative approach. The technique of collecting data in this research is through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique of this research uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that the strategy for developing e-journal collections is by coordinating with all academic study programs, collaborating with the National Library through e-resources, collaborating with FPPTMA (Muhammadiyah Aisyiyyah College Library Forum) as well as library socialization on the use of e-journal collections. . Constraints faced in developing the e-journal collection are: budget/funds, HR (Human Resources) and users. The role of the librarian in developing e-journal collections is to provide knowledge on how to access or browse information, promote e-journals through brochures, pamphlets, social media or web news at the UMSU Library and conduct socialization to the entire UMSU campus academic community.

Abstract

This study aims to find out what the meaning of the sign of tolerance and Islamic values ??in the film "Ajari Aku Islam" is. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection techniques using observation and documentation using the semiotic approach of Charles Sanders Pierce. The author is interested in using this semiotic theory to deepen the working pattern of the triangle meaning described in the Triadic and Trichotomy analysis to answer the formulation of the problem in the research. Pierce's semiotics uses the term representamen as a form of initial sign, then object as a sign reference, and interpretant as meaning. The object of research is the film "Teach Me Islam". This research then produces the meanings of religious tolerance and Islamic values ??which are seen in the film "Ajari Aku Islam". The conclusions of this study include the meaning of religious tolerance which is shown through 4 principles, namely respecting the differences in the beliefs of others, giving freedom in choosing religion, understanding mutual understanding between religions and not looking at physical and psychological differences in socializing. The Islamic values ??in the film "Ajari Aku Islam" include; human relationship with God, human relationship with oneself, human relationship with fellow human beings.

Abstract

Electronic Journal is a term used to describe scientific papers published in digital form that can be accessed using the internet. This study aims to determine the pattern of utilization and inhibiting factors in utilizing the printed and electronic journals of Cambridge and Emerald by users at the UPT Library of the State University of Medan. This type of research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentation, then data analysis techniques used three stages, namely, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. This research was conducted at the UPT Library of the State University of Medan. The results of this study indicate that in the use of printed and electronic journals, Cambridge and Emerald have been used by users in their daily needs to serve as references in fulfilling lecture assignments, research reports, and seeking the latest information. There are several obstacles faced in utilizing the printed and electronic journals of Cambridge and Emerald such as the internet network, accuracy in determining the subject, electronic journals that were found to be unsubscribed and in English.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the influence of organizational communication in extra and intra-campus on students' public speaking skills . The research was conducted using quantitative research methods . The population used were students of the 2018 Stambuk Communication Science Department as many as 361 people at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU) Medan , and using a purposive sampling technique , with the slovin formula with an error rate of 10% and the sample being studied was 79 respondents. through the distribution of questionnaires. The results of this study on the t test stated that organizational communication has a t count> T table (97.34 > 1.99125) with a significance level (0.05), then H0 is Rejected and Ha Accepted, meaning that communication extra and intra-campus organization affect the ability of public speaking students.

Abstract

In an effort to realize customer loyalty to Islamic banks, it is necessary to realize the determinants of customer loyalty of Islamic banks. This study aims to determine what factors determine the loyalty of Islamic bank customers in Indonesia. This research was conducted using qualitative research methods, namely content analysis of papers from the google schoolar database and interviews using in-depth interview techniques. The results showed that the factors that influence the loyalty of Islamic bank customers are action, attitude, attention, corporate image, customer bonding, customer relationship, customer social responsibility, determinants of brand equity, good corporate governance, price, employees, emotional intelligence, intelligence. intellectual, spiritual intelligence, trust, customer satisfaction, commitment, communication, service quality, Islamic service quality, location, customer value, conflict handling, perceived value, product, professionalism, promotion, religiosity, social responsibility and transparency. The results of interviews with Islamic Banking Graduate Students there are other factors that determine customer loyalty, namely bank guarantees and legality.
