Abstract

Pervaginal childbirth until now is still the choice of the method of childbirth that is considered the safest and economical. Although the delivery assistance has been done correctly, most women will experience perineal trauma during the vaginal labor process and require perineal suturing. The problem that is often faced by a mother who has a perineal tear is pain during the suturing process and will last until the suture wound is dry and the duration of the healing process of the perineal suture wound. This type of research is quantitative analytics using a Quasi-Experimental research design with the one-group post-test design method. Free variables: Hypnoanasthetic method and bound variables: the pain of perineal suture wounds and healing of perineal wounds. The sample in this study was 66 maternity mothers using purposive sampling techniques. Instruments: Checklists and Observation sheets, data analysis using the Wilcoxon Test. The results showed that after being given the hypnoanastesi method, almost all respondents experienced mild pain during suturing perineal lacerations, namely 87.9% and most respondents took a fast time (2 weeks) in healing perineal wounds, namely 23 respondents (69.7%). This study concludes that the hypnoanastesi method is effective in reducing the pain of suturing perineal lacerations and is effective in the healing process of perineal wounds.

Abstract

Bacterial contamination in blood product was still a problem in Indonesia. Various studies to improve the safety of blood product by inhibiting the bacterial growth in blood product was developed. Chalcone, is one of the natural compounds that has ability to inhibit the bacterial growth, so it can be possible to use that compound for anti-bacterial use in the future. This study aim is to evaluate the anti-bacterial activity of novel synthesis chalcone (E)-1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3-phenylprop-2-en-1-one against S. epidermidis and S. aureus isolated from packed red cell blood product. A novel chalcone was synthesized by Claisen-Schmidt Methods while anti-bacterial activity test was done by Agar Diffusion Methods. Chalcone that has been synthesized then characterized by Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR) Methods and Gas Chromatography – Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). Chalcone was synthesized through a condensation reaction between an aldehyde (benzaldehyde) and ketone (acetophenone) with NaOH as alkaline catalyst. The results from sedimentary analysis using FTIR showed an absorption of the C=C group in the typical medium of chalcone compounds, at the wave number of 1516.96 cm-1. The results of GC-MS characterization resulted a GC chromatogram with one peak with time of retention (tR) 19.68 minutes and relative purity 100%. MS mass spectrum shows that the molecular ion (M+) of this compound was detected at 224 which equivalents to the molecular weight of the chalcone compound. Anti-bacterial test showed that the synthetic chalcone compound with 5% concentration had an inhibitory ability of 56.02% on S. epidermidis and 54.10% on S. aureus, while 2.5% chalcone concentration had an inhibitory ability of 29.17% on S. epidermidis and 50.45% on S. aureus, and 1.25% chalcone concentration had inhibitory ability 0% on S. epidermidis and 37.27% on S. aureus.

Abstract

Children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) often have difficulty controlling emotions, difficulty maintaining attention, relatively poor memory, and difficulty in speaking. Attention, memory, and speech are parts of cognition. During the covid-19 pandemic, individuals with autism feel more stressed because they have lost their routine. This type of research is quantitative descriptive with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The number of samples used were 59 ASD children aged 5-11 years. Emotional data was collected using the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule for Children, Short Form/PANAS-C-S scale, attention data was collected using the inattention subscale of the Swanson, Nolan, and Pelham scale, version IV (SNAP-IV), memory data was collected using the Observer questionnaire. Memory Questionnaire-Parent Form (OMQ-PF), and speech data were collected using the speech subscale of ATEC. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The results showed the average positive emotion (PA) of children with ASD = 18.20; negative emotional level (NA) = 12.42; emotion (PA + NA) = 5.78; inattention = 24.80; memory = 83.51; and speech = 26.71. The mean of positive emotions in ASD children is lower, negative emotions are higher, and overall good emotions are lower than normal children aged 8-11 years. The mean inattention score in children with ASD was included in the criteria for severe attention deficit symptoms. The mean memory of ASD children is lower than normal children aged 5-16 years. The average speech score of children with ASD is lower than the score normally achieved by normal children. The emotions and cognition of children with ASD during the covid-19 pandemic were lower than normal children. Efforts are needed to increase positive emotions and improve cognitive function which include: attention, memory, and speech in ASD children with various therapies that are suitable for each individual.

Abstract

A room is said to be feasible if the temperature and humidity of the room are in accordance with existing provisions. Thermohygrometer is a tool used to monitor the condition of the room. The thermoygrometer used must be traceable for its measurement results using certain media. The climatic chamber is a device that provides the desired climate regardless of the external environment. There are several systems that can be used to control temperature and humidity, one of which is the PID (Proportional Integral Differential) control system and Fuzzy Logic. This climatic chamber has been tested at temperature measuring points of 25°C, 30°C, 35°C, and humidity of 50% RH, 60% RH, 70% RH then the measurement results are compared with a calibrated thermohygrometer. The measurement results at 25°C have a response time of 7 minutes 30 seconds and an overshoot of 0.1°C, at a temperature of 30°C it has a response time of 5 minutes 15 seconds and an overshoot of 0.1°C, at a temperature of 35°C it has a response time of 5 minutes 30 seconds. and 0.2°C overshoot. At humidity 50%RH it has a response time of 13 minutes 30 seconds, at humidity 60%RH it has a response time of 12 minutes, at humidity 70%RH it has a response time of 6 minutes. The measurement results show that fuzzy logic control has more advantages than PID control. Fuzzy logic control has a faster response time to setpoint than PID control and fuzzy logic control has smaller overshoot than PID control

Abstract

Gastritis is an inflammatory disease that can last for a long time. Helicobacter pylori infection is known as the main cause of peptic ulcer and the most common cause of gastritis. Helicobacter Pylori infection will cause mononuclear (MN) and polymorphonuclear (PMN) cell infiltration and will increase the production of proinflammatory cytokines in the gastric mucosa compared to non-Helicobacter Pylori gastritis. Helicobacter Pylori with histopathological examination diagnosis. This type of research is descriptive observational with purposive sampling data collection technique at the Anatomical Pathology Laboratory Installation, RSPAL dr. Ramelan Surabaya. The data used are the results of a biopsy of 60 samples that were determined as gastritis with histopathological examination of the identification of Helicobacter Pylori bacteria in gastric tissue classified by the level of bacterial density using The Updated Sydney System, as well as haemogram data for complete blood examination to further calculate the neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR). The data were processed using descriptive statistical tests to determine the average neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR). Based on the statistics of the r-Spearman test, the density of Helicobacter Pylori, (Pν = 0.000) below < 0.005 indicates that there is a strong relationship between the neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and the density of Helicobacter Pylori bacteria.

Abstract

The importance of breastfeeding has strong evidence[1]. But in reality, there are many obstacles in its implementation[2]. Data shows that exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia is 89.4% (2020). Physical factors due to complications or fatigue after giving birth also have an impact on breast milk production, so mothers tend to fail to exclusively breastfeed[3][1]. A non-pharmacological method that can reduce postpartum stress, increase comfort and body fitness so as to help stimulate breast milk production is the herbal steam bath.[4]. This is a culture of local wisdom that is still preserved in various parts of Indonesia as a therapy for postpartum mothers. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of herbal steam bath on breast milk production for postpartum mothers in Surabaya. The design of this study was a quasi-experimental (two group pre-post test design). This research was conducted on postpartum mothers in Surabaya. The study was conducted for 6 months. Determination of the sample using purposive sampling technique. The treatment group was given intervention for 1 week as much as 2x, namely Herbal Steam Bath for 5-20 minutes. Endorphin massage was performed in the control group for 1 week with a frequency of 2 times/week for 20 minutes. Each group was given a pre-test and post-test to determine the production of breast milk with indicators of increased baby weight, increased frequency of urination and defecation. Data analysis with independent T-test and Mann Whitney. The results showed that there was a significant effect of herbal steam baths on increasing breast milk production with a value of = 0.012 or <0.05. There was a significant difference in milk production in the treatment group compared to the control group with a value of = 0.004 or <0.05. Conclusion: By doing of herbal steam baths it can increase milk production.

Abstract

Fish is a food that is in great demand by many people. Fish are also easily damaged. Therefore, some fishermen use formalin as a preservative for their caught fish. However, the use of formalin in food is prohibited and is considered dangerous because it can cause health problems. Hence, the use of natural preservatives is an alternative. The combination of banana peel vinegar and NaCl salt used banana peel vinegar can inhibit the growth of microbes in the fish body. Furthermore, if it is combined with the addition of NaCl, it can reduce the water content in the fish body so that microbes cannot grow and reproduce. The purpose of this study was to obtain an effective concentration of preservatives from the combination of banana peel vinegar and NaCl. This type of research is experimental with 4 treatments 9:1, 7:1, 4:1, and 3:1. Each treatment was repeated 6 times. 24 samples of fish that have been treated are left for 12 hours at room temperature which represents the time fishermen catch fish until they come to shore. The results of this study showed that the durability of fresh fish in 4:1 treatment got a value of 6.95, categorized as fresh fish. It means that the combination of banana peel vinegar and NaCl salt at a concentration of 4:1 is effectively used as a fish preservative. The results of the oneway ANOVA test showed that there was an effect of the combination of banana peel vinegar and NaCl salt on the freshness of the fish.
