Abstract

This study examines the influence of Big Five personality traits on member performance, with creativity as a mediating mechanism, from a behavioral management accounting perspective. While prior research links personality and performance, limited evidence exists in non-profit community settings emphasizing non-financial performance measurement. Using survey data collected from active members of a community-based organization in Surabaya, this study applies Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to test the proposed relationships. The findings indicate that Big Five personality traits significantly influence creativity, which in turn positively affects member performance. Personality also demonstrates a direct effect on performance. Creativity partially mediates the relationship between personality and non-financial performance. These results highlight the importance of behavioral factors in strengthening management control systems and improving non-financial performance outcomes. The study contributes to behavioral management accounting literature by integrating personality and creativity within a community organization context.

Abstract

This study develops a Metaverse Halal Value Chain (MHVC) framework to integrate metaverse technology into Indonesia’s halal value chain in order to enhance global market competitiveness. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected from 25 key informants, including halal entrepreneurs, certification auditors, regulators, academics, and Muslim consumers. Semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis were examined through thematic analysis. The findings reveal four key insights: (1) the halal metaverse is perceived as a new spiritual-economic space embedding maqāṣid al-sharīʿah values in digital transactions; (2) digital integration improves certification transparency and cross-sector collaboration; (3) legitimacy and trust remain critical challenges in virtual halal authentication; and (4) Indonesia holds strategic potential to become a global halal ecosystem hub through value-driven digital governance. The proposed MHVC model integrates technological efficiency, collaborative networks, and ethical principles, offering both theoretical advancement and practical guidance for sustainable halal digital transformation.

Abstract

This study investigates the integration of Decision Tree analytics and SWOT analysis in enhancing service quality and information security in Islamic banking. Using a cross-sectional explanatory design, the research combines transaction-level customer data modeled through a Decision Tree classifier with survey data from 270 customers of Bank Syariah Indonesia. The Decision Tree model demonstrates strong classification performance, with satisfactory accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity in identifying customer risk profiles. Multiple regression analysis indicates that both Decision Tree utilization and SWOT implementation have positive and statistically significant effects on perceived service quality and security. The Decision Tree shows a stronger direct impact, while SWOT contributes strategically by translating predictive insights into structured planning actions. The findings highlight the complementary relationship between predictive analytics and strategic management. This study contributes to the literature by bridging machine learning applications and strategic frameworks in Islamic banking and provides managerial implications for data-driven governance and service optimization.

Abstract

Regional economic growth remains a central concern in development economics, particularly in countries characterized by spatial disparities such as Indonesia. This study examines the relationship between investment and regional economic growth through a structured review of empirical studies published between 2018 and 2025. The analysis synthesizes findings from provincial-level research employing various econometric approaches, including panel data models, regression analysis, and path analysis. The results indicate that investment—both domestic and foreign—generally exerts a positive effect on regional economic growth. However, the magnitude and significance of this effect vary across regions. Evidence suggests that investment effectiveness depends on complementary factors such as human capital quality, infrastructure availability, macroeconomic stability, and institutional capacity. In regions with limited absorptive capacity, investment does not automatically translate into sustained growth. These findings highlight that investment-driven growth is conditional and requires integrated development policies to achieve inclusive and balanced regional economic performance.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of capital restructuring on the profitability of Indonesian state-owned banks. Profitability is measured using Return on Assets (ROA), while capital restructuring is represented by the Debt-to-Equity Ratio (DER) and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR). Non-performing loans (NPL) and operating expenses to operating income (BOPO) are included as control variables. The study uses panel data from four Indonesian state-owned banks—Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Bank Negara Indonesia, Bank Tabungan Negara, and Bank Mandiri—over the period 2019–2023. The analysis employs both static and dynamic panel regression methods, including Pooled Least Squares (PLS), Fixed Effects Model (FEM), Random Effects Model (REM), Difference GMM, and System GMM. The results indicate that operational efficiency, represented by BOPO, consistently has a negative and significant effect on bank profitability. The System GMM estimation suggests that capital restructuring variables significantly influence profitability. These findings highlight the importance of efficient cost management and sound capital structure policies in improving the financial performance of state-owned banks.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a critical role in local economic development, yet many face structural constraints related to managerial capacity, innovation, and market access. This study examines the effectiveness of the Business Clinic Program initiated by the Malang City Government in strengthening MSME competitiveness. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected from 60 MSME participants across five districts in Malang, Indonesia. Quantitative analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression, complemented by qualitative insights from interviews and program documentation. The findings indicate that the program significantly contributes to improving MSME competitiveness, particularly through enhanced entrepreneurial management and production innovation. However, limited program coverage, low digital literacy, and restricted access to formal financing remain key challenges. This study proposes an integrated intervention framework linking input resources, capability development, and market expansion as a policy model to support MSME competitiveness. The findings highlight the importance of sustained institutional support and targeted capacity-building initiatives in local economic development.
