Abstract

Cyberbullying is one of the violent phenomena that we still encounter today. Cyberbullying is violent behavior that is carried out intentionally by a strong individual or group to continuously oppress or hurt weak individuals or groups by means of information technology communication, such as social media. This study was used to determine the impact of the cyberbullying phenomenon, especially on adolescents and to determine the role of the family in responding to this phenomenon. This research is a library research using a qualitative descriptive method. The data collection technique is in the form of documentation from secondary data sourced from research studies journals, news, survey institute data and government regulations. The results showed that cyberbullying can have a very serious impact on victims, both psychologically, physically, and socially. More severe cyberbullying tends to increase suicidal ideation. In addition to having an impact on victims, cyberbullying can also have an impact on perpetrators. The role of families, especially parents, is very important in responding to the phenomenon of cyberbullying, both as an effort to prevent and handle it.

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) sophistication triggered a specific algorithm called deepfake technology. Abstract

Gender-Based Violence in Indonesia is generally divided into two categories; kekerasan berdasarkan ranah personal (GBV that takes place in a private setting) and kekerasan berdasarkan komunitas dan negara (GBV that takes place in a public setting). Aside from this, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought to light an equally concerning form of GBV, online GBV. While both have their complexities, there seems to be a jarring gap in how current policy handles offline and online. The objectives of this research are two-fold: (1) to examine online GBV within the context of Indonesia; (2) to explore the nexus between theory and practice regarding online GBV. We found that although both types of GBV are shrouded in hegemonic masculinity, the added layer of the online space makes online GBV more complex, making it a Wicked Problem. The concept of a Wicked Problem is often used to descibe issues with high complexity making it difficult to solve Though at the time of write UU TPKS had not been legalized, the 10 year strugle behind it shows the wickedness behind this issue. As UU TPKS has yet to be implemented, we suggest upscaling grassroot feminist or pro-gender organizations in effort to spread awareness and further combat online GBV.

Abstract

This article will discuss the comments of netizens about the perpetrators who have made women victims of online gender-based violence (KBGO). The abundance of texts, images, memes, videos and news about perpetrators has made women a legitimate object to be blasphemed, scorned and bullied through social media. Using Michael Foucault's theory of discourse analysis can expose all forms of violence against women on social media, especially those with regard to issues of infidelity and pelakor. The method used by this research is critical discourse analysis where this method seeks to uncover discourses or myths about actors. The results of this study indicate that there has been symbolic violence against women who are referred to as syar'i actors through social media. The discourse or myth of actors syar'i has hegemonized netizens to commit KGBO acts with various forms of symbolic violence by intercepting gender and religion. Identity attacks, cyber bullying, suing women's abuse, and sexual harassment are a collection of violence experienced by women with the stigma of being sharia perpetrators on social media. Often times the KGBO is not recognized by the perpetrators and victims, and this public oppression can only be accepted without resistance.
