Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the leuit (rice barn) as a cultural heritage and a symbol of life in the Ciptagelar traditional community. This research uses a qualitative method with a symbolic interactionism approach. The results show that the leuit can be understood as a way of viewing Sundanese culture that is believed by the Ciptagelar traditional community. This is stated through the concept of opat kalima pancer. This concept is an ancestral cultural heritage for the Ciptagelar traditional community. The Ciptagelar traditional community continue to maintain the existence of the leuit because leuit is a cultural heritage which is part of the universe that connects humans with God. This is related to the symbolization of life in the leuit. For the Ciptagelar traditional community, caring for rice is like caring for life. Therefore, rice is considered a human being. In the scientific realm, animatism is known, which is to believe that whatever is on earth, especially plants, has spirit and life. Based on this understanding, it is not an exaggeration to see rice as respected as humans. In the end, leuit exist as a home or resting place for rice. Leuit thus has a philosophical meaning as a sacred place that legitimizes the life of the Ciptagelar traditional community in their physical and mental dimensions.

Abstract

This type of leadership has many forms according to the character of the leadership and the way of coordination in achieving work goals. PT. Permata Sinergi Madani is a retail company that sells special materials for solar energy. It has a leadership type characterized by a transformational leadership type. The purpose of this study is to describe the type of leadership of PT. Permata Sinergi Madani in terms of Ideal Influence, Inspirational Motivation, Intellectual Stimulation and Individual Consideration. The research method used is descriptive qualitative methodology with data collection techniques using participant observation. To determine the validity of the data, this study used triangulation of sources. The results of the analysis show that the type of transformational leadership in the aspect of ideal influence is that the leader influences others to move or carry out his vision, with good coordination or cooperation between the leader and his subordinates. Aspects of insporational motivation, leaders motivate only by demanding employees to obtain high profits. Intellectual stimulation aspect, provides an overview to employees in increasing the profit from the products sold through briefing activities. Aspects of individual consideration, leaders consider the relationship with employees to provide suggestions or input for the achievement of company profits. Conclusion The type of transformational leadership is more depicting the activities of the leader which are oriented towards work results that have a greater influence on employee performance.

Abstract

This study aims to examine communication strategies in the government's efforts to deal with waste problems. This study aims to: (1) Determine the volume of household waste in the East Penfui area, Kupang, (2) Evaluate ways of handling household waste problems in the East Penfui area so that it can overcome garbage problem that occurs. This type of research is qualitative research. The objects studied were 4 points of garbage accumulation on Jalan Herman Johanes, Prof. Dr. and the sample used is the number of households in the village of East Penfui. The data in this study were obtained by conducting surveys, documenting and interviewing people who live in the village of East Penfui. Data analysis techniques using case study analysis techniques. The results obtained from this study are: (1) the average waste generation is 6.2 liters / person / day, the volume of community waste generation is 24.81 liters / family / day; (2) The methods for handling waste problems that have been carried out by the people of East Penfui Village are not yet appropriate and correct, so it is necessary to provide counseling or socialization on how to handle waste problems properly and correctly. The way to minimize the volume of waste generated by the community is by providing 186 units of trash cans with a capacity of 140 L which can accommodate 6 households of garbage per unit. The frequency of garbage collection that must be done is every 3 days.

Abstract

Endemic Indonesian animals are native Indonesian animals that cannot be found in other countries, that’s why their existence must be protected and studied by children, especially those with endangered status. However, the population of these animals is decreasing and even extinct. Not many people know about endangered animals that are endemic in Indonesia and extinct animals in Indonesia, especially in grade 4 elementary school in Bandung who have started to studying these animals. The knowledge about endangered animals and Indonesian endemic animals in schools is still ineffective and boring because the media to used is school textbooks which are dominated by text. Children's illustration books are a solution for elementary school. Data collection techniques used are interviews and questionnaires. The main media for the illustration book is "Ayo!! Mengenal Dunia Hewan" with supporting media : bookmarks, stickers, key chains, puzzles, and posters. The design was made to increase the knowledge of 4th graders elementary school about endangered animals and Indonesian endemic animals.

Abstract

The birth of Counter Culture and subculture are associated with the development of postmodernism. The various of counter cultures and subcultures then bared new cultural activities and products, one of which was indie music. Like a domino effect, indie music then produces subcultural music consumption activities, thus contributing to the growth of fan culture and shopping activities. Indie band merchandises later became a potential commodity. One of the most consumed form of merchandises is indie band t-shirts with illustration on it.. This study is analized the illustrative imagery style that used on various indie band t-shirts in Indonesia. The aim of this study is to get tendency of ilutrative imagery that used by illutrated t-shirts of bands which come from many genres . This research uses qualitative method which is supported by various data sources. The results of this study reveal that quite visible differences between “loud” or “quiet” music genre could be seen in the colors selection and objects selection in the illustration. Both “loud” or “quiet” indie bands use both illustrative imagery style either literal imagery or metaphor imagery on their t-shirt illustrations to communicate the identity and selling points of each of these bands

Abstract

This paper uses the framing analysis method, especially from the content approach, ideology and media economy which not only analyzes literary discourse but also describes the analytical and interpretative aspects of writing related to the existence and business of national private media in Indonesia. The results of the study provide an explanation of the meaning of media existence, media freedom raises the problem of the concentration of ownership of media companies (conglomerates), which changes the face of media freedom and the need for public information to become the freedom to control the media market. In terms of ideological attachment, the progress of television media cannot be separated from the ideological thoughts and interests of its media crews. Economically, the press is recognized as an economic institution, although its purpose is limited to the welfare of employees (Article 3 Paragraph 2 of the 1999 Press Law). The content of the Television Broadcasting Program, shows more packages and contents that are set according to the political and economic interests of the media owners and according to the ideological framework of the media crews. Meanwhile, from the organizational side, the media is more tied to the structure and hierarchy of power (which is built for the interests of the authority of the media owners) itself. Furthermore, from the culturalist side, the media has entered into the global industrial era, and there are structural boundaries that make not all the idealistic values ​​of the press can be realized

Abstract

As one form of mass communication, advertising becomes a means of communication that contains information products (goods or services) that are persuasive from a company or non-personal institution to achieve marketing strategies. The ability of advertising in forming brand image makes companies competing to create ads that have an attractive visualization but do not rule out the message of the product. This is also the case with the Gopay e-money application, one of the digital financial products owned by PT. Karya Anak Bangsa has succeeded in creating advertisements that are able to visualize product messages with good animation accompanied by the selection of Pevita Pearce and Joe Taslim as the right ambassador brands. The purpose of this study is to explain how Gopay is able to make ads that are able to be both attractive in the aspects of the message content to the ambassador brand in the ad. The results of this study are to see how advertising and brand ambassadors can influence consumer brand awareness of Gopay. This research method uses literature study by collecting data from articles, scientific journals and theses related to the topics under study.

Abstract

Periksa payudara sendiri (SADARI) merupakan metode deteksi dini untuk mengetahui gejala kanker payudara. Sampai saat ini, kasus kanker payudara merupakan kasus kedua terbesar di Negara Indonesia, terutama di Kota Bandung. Kanker payudara menjadi kasus kanker yang paling beresiko bagi wanita. Sebagai seorang wanita dari seorang remaja putri menjadi seorang wanita, banyak hal penting yang harus diperhatikan mengenai kesehatan dan perkembangan. Oleh karena itu, metode deteksi dini periksa payudara sendiri (SADARI) menjadi salah satu metode yang paling aman untuk dilakukan sejak dini, implementasi metode inipun perlu dilakukan saat usia remaja, yaitu saat mulai terjadinya perkembangan secara fisik. Dalam mengatasi kanker payudara sejak dini pada remaja putri di Kota Bandung, Organisasi Yayasan Kanker Indonesia mengadakan sosialisasi kampanye cegah kanker payudara dengan periksa payudara sendiri (SADARI) melalui media buku infografis atau booklet sebagai solusi atas masalah tersebut. Perancangan buku infografis atau booklet ini memberikan informasi mengenai kanker payudara, gejala, faktor dan resiko, terutama langkah-langkah metode periksa payudara sendiri (SADARI), media inipun dirancang menyesuaikan kebutuhan dari remaja putri sebagai pengetahuan dasar akan kesehatan payudara.

Abstract

At the end of 2019, many countries including Indonesia were hit by the COVID-19 pandemic caused by the corona virus. The Ministry of Health, especially the Bandung City Health Office, has recommended several efforts that can be made by the community to avoid the transmission of the corona virus, one of which is washing hands. Good and correct hand washing behavior for children is still lacking, because many media information about hand washing still focus on adults so that it is less effective for children. Seeing the tendency of children to learn and how to get information at this time using digital media, an animated infographic was designed on the steps for washing hands specifically for children especially for children 9-13 years. This type of research is a qualitative research. The data of this research are qualitative data so that the data are in a substantive category which is then interpreted with references to scientific references. With the creation of animated infographics, it is hoped that children will be more interested and easier to understand the information on good and correct handwashing steps, and the information conveyed in this information media can be applied in everyday life.
