Abstract

The operations of the company are always faced with the problem of meeting the needs of funds. Company funding is closely related to the selection and combination of internal funding sources and external funding sources. The funding decision of the capital structure determines the company in carrying out its operating activities that affect the company's value. There are two perspectives in determining the funding decision of capital structure, namely trade-off theory and pecking order theory. This study aims to analyze the effect of capital structure funding decision variables according to the perspective of trade-off theory and pecking order theory on funding decision of capital structure. The study population used companies listed in the Jakarta Islamic Index. The sample used is 30 companies during the period of June to November 2016.  The result shows that according to trade-off theory, firm size and growth influence to leverage, but tangible fixed assets and profitability have no effect on leverage. While according to pecking order theory perspective, it shows that only variable of growth that influence to leverage. Thus it can be concluded that companies in Jakarta Islamic Index tend to follow trade-off theory perspective.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the role of SMEs on local product positioning through image management in this current global competitive era. SMEs have played a role, particularly to local products to be globally well recognized as featured products. Jombang is one of region in East Java which has a lot of SMEs that has successfully produced various local products such as foods, beverage, handycrafts, and batik. For this far, a lot of their products have widely reached customers across the globe. However, some people remain unfamiliar with those local products, since many of the SMEs did their marketing indirectly. Therefore, it needs a management of image to build valuation and gain customers trust entirely. This present study applied a qualitative approach with case study as its research method by examining the conditions of SMEs in Jombang. The result showed that the SMEs played their role in positioning various local products in this current global competitive era through a management of image, both in brands and the SMEs. The management of image was conducted by communicating the marketing through various media, both electronic and non-electronic ones, in order to get better understanding about consumers. This present study, however, has limitation on the number of the entrepreneurs selected as the participants of this research. Thus, it is interesting for further studies to conduct their researches not only on limited particular enterprises, but more.

Abstract

The small manufacturing sector has a large role in the processing of agricultural products and helps provide employment and business opportunities in an effort to encourage regional and rural development. The small industrial estate (PIK) of KOPTI Semanan in Kalideres Subdistrict, West Jakarta is one of the fermented soybean processing centers in Jakarta. In running its business, PIK KOPTI Semanan faces internal and external constraints so it has not been able to achieve business development as expected. The purpose of this research was to analyze the feasibility and sensitivity of small industry enterprises in Kalideres Subdistrict, West Jakarta. Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Payback Period (PP), and Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C) methods were employed to calculate the financial feasibility of small fermented soybean industry enterprises. While the sensitivity analysis is done by doing the scenario of decreasing and increasing cost and price. The results of the analysis indicated that the small fermented soybean industry in Kalideres District is feasible to be implemented. However, the sensitivity analysis results indicated 3 out of 5 enterprises were sensitive to decreased revenue and increased costs.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the influence of debt ratio, size, earnings per share, dividend policy, and money supply to stock price in mining Sector Company listed in Indonesia stock exchange period 2011-2015. This research uses the type of causality research and the data used is secondary data. Sampling technique by purposive sampling and obtained by eight companies as research object. The analysis method used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results show the debt ratio, size, earnings per share, dividend payout ratio, and dividend yield effect on stock prices of mining companies. While the money supply does not affect to stock price of mining companies. The recommendation of this research is that company need to consider debt ratio, size, earnings per share, dividend payout ratio and dividend yield in making company policy, because can affect stock price movement of company and become an alternative investment decision-making for investors.

Abstract

A business incubator is a program to encourage the emergence of students entrepreneurs in various universities, including Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta. The model applied in generating new entrepreneurs through business incubators at Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta is described in three (3) stages of pre-incubation, incubation, and post-incubation. In the third stage of the incubation process, post incubation, the students have been assessed their readiness before finally tenant plunge as an entrepreneur. In the previous study, the motivation or desire to become an entrepreneur is a major factor to support success in business. However, in the next stage to support business sustainability, especially in the digital era as it is today, the strong capital motivation is not enough. This study aims to examine more deeply the capabilities that must be built to support business sustainability, especially in the digital age with all the technological advances. The qualitative approach is used by using successful tenants as case studies of several types of business, in order to enrich the results of the research. Triangulation and member check processes are applied to generate the results of the research. The resulting model of this study is a refinement of the initial model by emphasizing the sustainability factor of business in the digital era that emphasizes the importance of creative ability and thinking ahead.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know and build café position, the method used is descriptive quantitative by collecting consumer perception and based on approach to consumer and based on condition of current situation and condition. The positioning of Jumbo Juice cafe compared to its main competitor is done by frequency distribution analysis technique. The results showed that the strategy model for the development of Jumbo Juice cafe positioning in Surabaya was; Promotion of café location by giving direct appointment of cafe existence very clear and easy to see around cafe environment. The custodian must keep the very cheap price offered to form a strong image among the cafe's consumers. Provide a full menu and a menu of new dishes not shared by competitor cafes. Improving service quality should be sustainable. Toilet facilities should be kept clean, safe and adequate parking. Sauna cafe must be developed so it will create a different susana with other competing cafes. And provide a sense of security to the cafe's visitors.
