Abstract

This paper appointed the Taushiyah Assembly and dhikr, if it is associated with the Geertz trichotomy is a ritual associated with santri. In this assembly Mr. Heri gives taushiyah from Islamic sources such as the Qur’an, Hadith, and Ulama’s books. Tradition is very thick content with the santri. The interesting thing to be lifted from this assembly is that although the taushiyah and dhikr assemblies are santri traditions, but the jama’ah who follow this assembly come from the priyayi and abangan elements. Priyayi elements such as Geertz’s trichotomy in this assembly can be represented by government officials, military personnel and village apparatus. The abangan element in this assembly can be represented from the community around Pager Gunung who often do ritual Slametan. These three different elements have different goals and captures in following the Taushiyah and dhikr assemblies. The author will show an example of the three elements of santri, priyayi and abangan in following the taushiyah and dhikr majlis. Taushiyah activities and dhikr are activities in which contain several aspects that can be examined, we can see from what they read, the tolerance of study community, and the Kyai’s strategy that made this study lasting by incorporating Qur’anic values. The Qur’anic values given by Kyai to the community are derived from the Qur’anic verses that derive the essence of his lesson to be applied in the daily life of the community. Qur’anic values are meant lessons that can be taken for daily life derived from the content of verses in the Qur’an. In this study, the author will discuss about the stability that exists in this taushiyah and dhikr majlis and their relationships with the preservation of Qur’anic values in it. Then also the preservation of Qur’anic values when applied in the life jama’ah. To analyze the stability of taushiyah and dhikr assemblies, the author used the theory of functional structuralism initiated by Talcott Parson. The focus of the study was on the four functions of value that are adaptation, purpose, integration, and latent situation.

Abstract

The fundamental thing that is rarely touched by the academics today is the science of tajwid, whereas functionally science of tajwid is a component of science which is the basis for how to read the Qur’an properly and correctly. It is a measure for every letter which is pronounced by qari ‘(reader), because in every letter of the verses of the Qur’an has its right. Another important thing to note is that the science of tajwid is not born of a vacuum, it is formed from various historical entities that surround it, and therefore tracing the historical roots of this study is a necessity. From historical aspect will be found the roots of the science of tajwid formation is inseparable from the development of science qira’ah. This is because qiraah scholars in their masterpiece also attach a lot of rules about science of tajwid. Departing from it, it can be said science of tajwid discipline has given birth to the implications of the development of science qiraah. Nevertheless, the two brothers of this disciplinary scholarship have substantial substantial differences. The science of qiraah discusses the variety of reading articulately, while the science of tajwid discusses the technicalities of the Qur’anic verses.

Abstract

The seven qira’at al-Qur’an cannot be ignored in the study of the science of exegesis. It is then called sab’u qira’at. But in the journey there was a misunderstanding of understanding between sab’u qiraat with sab’atu aḥruf. After doing some analysis on the history of sab’u qiraat and the traditions used as the basis of qira’at law, it can be known the difference result of both. The popularity of sab’u qiraat was initiated by a tabi’in named Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn Musa bin ‘Abbas bin Mujahid (d. 334 H). Besides sab’u qiraat which has degrees mutawattir in qira’at science, there is also qira’at ‘asyirah and qira’at’ arba’ah ‘asyar. The purpose of this study is to know the history of sab’u qira’at to become a discipline that stands alone as well as to provide an understanding of the difference sab’atu aḥruf and sab’u qira’at. Therefore, the author used critical text analysis. The result is to find a more comprehensive understanding of the difference between sab’atu aḥruf and sab’u qira’at as well as the history of sab’u qira’at formation into a discipline.

Abstract

The companions of Prophet Muhammad SAW who had contributed to compile and rewrite the Qur’an is very important to be known by Muslims especially, because then we can remember who contributed to record the Qur’an. So Muslims today can easily read and memorize the Qur’an. Especially in the modern era today, the Qur’an is no longer in the form of Mushaf but has been transformed in digital form and can be downloaded for free in order to facilitate Muslims to read it so as not to be limited by space and time. But it can not be separated from the services of the companions of the Prophet who has recorded the Qur’an neatly as we read today. Therefore, this study is a literature review documenting the names of friends of the Prophet who have great merit in the bookkeeping of the Qur’an. The writers of revelation called katibu al-wahyī (the writers of revelation) recorded in some historians amounted to 26 friends. While al-halabi argues that the author of the revelation amounted to 44 friends, but there are only 10 friends who mashur well-known among the friends of the Prophet namely Abu Bakr, Umar bin khattab, usman bin Affan, Ali Bin Abi Talib, Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan Zubayr bin al-Awam , Sa’id bin al-Ash, Amr bin al-’Ash, Ubay bin Ka’ab, Zayd bin Thabit. And of the ten companions, Zayd bin thabit wrote the most revelation of the Qur’an especially the passages revealed in Medina, because he was the personal secretary of Rosulullah.

Abstract

This article discusses the book of tafsir, Tarjuman al-Qur’an, by Mawlana Abul Kalam Azad (W. 1958 AD). Azad is one of the commentator (of the Qur’an) and politicians who were born in the minority in India, where India is a predominantly Hindu country. In this case, Azad wants Islam and Hinduism to co-exist. Azad thought is considered controversial because the Islamic reformers in India, we can call Sayyid Ahmad Khan who crave a separate country that became a home for Muslims. Azad has an offer of interpretation that is different from other commentators of his time related to the unity of religions. From here the authors formulate some problems. First, how is the anatomy of the Tarjuman al-Qur’an and what the methodology used by Azad in his interpretation ?. Secondly, what does Azad offer to the multicultural problems of religion ?. To answer that question, the writer uses approach of comparative study between book of interpretation. The method used in writing this article is descriptive-comparative. In his interpretation, Azad is not only interpreting a single conviction, but rather a variety of beliefs, such as the concept of al-din and illah. He interprets the Qur’an by emphasizing the unity of religion that he thinks. The interpretation is of course based on the context that colored him at the time of compilation of the interpretation.

Abstract

The Qur’an is a holy book that is always interesting to be examined from all sides: from the beauty of the language used to the contained meaning; from the form of writing to the variety of readings; including some matters related to the subject matter of the Qur’an. All these aspects if examined in depth, will lead us to the conclusion that the Qur’an is a miracle, as well as prove that the risks of Muhammad Saw is true. One of the main content of the Qur’an is the stories. Judging from the time of occurrence, the stories can be divided into three categories. First, the stories of previous prophets that were so difficult for historians to uncover, as the ‘Ā d and Thamū d and the city of Iram they were proud of; the story of Pharaoh and his destruction and the power of Allā h to immortalize his body; story of Aṣḥāb al-Kahf and so forth. Second, the notice of the Messenger of Allah concerning the state of his people, including the conspiracy of the unbelievers and the munafiq who were about to kill him. Third, the news about something that will happen like preaching about the victory of the Muslims in the war badar, victory of the army of Rum on Persi also the news about the coming of Judgment Day and human condition at that time. The truth of the stories is certain. It became one amongst the evidence of miracles. In addition, the presenting of these stories is packed with beautiful language with high literary value, thus further strengthening the miracles of the Qur’an and proving that it really comes from Allah Swt, not Muhammad’s engineering.
