Abstract

Aesthetics in multimedia works is defined as an artistic phenomenon to beautify the form of moving image works. Aesthetics plays a role in the elements of film visualization and creates symbols that can be identified by the audience. Aesthetics and symbolism in film function as a communication and foundation for understanding accompanied by creative ideas. The meaning of aesthetics cannot be separated from the form of meaning of an object related to an idea and feeling. One of the Indonesian films that applies aesthetics through artistic elements is Yuni film. The film tells of a student named Yuni who is frustrated between continuing her education to college or getting married at an early age because of the patriarchal culture inherent in her social environment. Yuni's character is synonymous with the color purple based on three elements, namely clothing, setting, and object/property because it has its own meaning for the theme of the story and the character's character. This study uses a qualitative method with an analytic descriptive approach. Sources of data come from Yuni film and scientific journals that examine similar topics regarding the film's work. The data analysis technique was carried out by watching Yuni film and interpreting the meaning of the purple color present in it. The result of this study is that the color purple is a symbol for the identity/characteristics of the Yuni character and has its own artistic value in it.

Abstract

Film is a visual art form that combines moving images, sound and narration to convey a story or message to the audience, it can also act as a medium to deepen understanding of the mental state possessed by humans. In interpreting dreams according to Freud, it can be done through two methods, namely Dream Interpretation using one of Freud’s methods, namely the symbolic method, which means interpreting dreams as a whole with dreams that are thought about repeatedly, it can affect human memory about the meaning of these dreams carried out using qualitative methods through an analytical descriptive approach. In the movie Ketika Berhenti Disini, in every scene where Dita wears glasses given by Ed, glasses are interpreted as clarity in seeing. A sign that there will be clarity in seeing, if in the context of this film is Ed's existence in the form of AI. which if you remove the food will disappear, is interpreted as a blur in the glasses because Ed cannot be seen again. The unity of a complete dream that is felt or done repeatedly can have an impact on the thinking of the brain itself in understanding a dream and seeing the dream. Every human being has fears, deep fears and also sadness that every human being always has. All of these things will be healed with good support from the environment and people around.

Abstract

Korean drama or Drakor is one of the shows that is popular with various groups. One of the dramas that has a high rating in 2022 is entitled "Blind". With the mystery-detective genre, this drama has many plot twists. Tells about a typical murder, and the killer asks for a jury trial. The jury summoned for the trial consisted of seven people. The main characters in this drama are Ryu Sung Hoon as the judge from this specialty, Ryu Sung Joon, the judge's younger brother who is the detective in this case, and Eun Ki, a social worker and one of the seven trial jurors. In storytelling, of course there will be choices to build the narrative, this can be called the mutually exclusive theory. Mutually exclusive itself is an event whose occurrence cannot occur simultaneously at the same time. Indirectly here it is explained that there will be two or more choices or events that cannot occur simultaneously at the same time. So there must be something chosen and left behind, there will be things that will happen and things that will not happen. By using the mutually exclusive theory the author will apply it to the drama Blind. In almost every episode the character will be faced with various plots and choices and he can only choose one of these choices at the same time.

Abstract

Ranah 3 Warna is a film based on a novel entitled "Ranah 3 Warna". As a continuation of the film Negeri 5 Menara, the film Ranah 3 Warna was released 9 years after the previous film and tells the story of the steps to reach the tower from the character Alif. The role of leather shoes in the film is a representation of Alif's character. This representation is shown from the beginning of the film to the end of the film. There are quite a few images in films that focus on shoes, where shoes are just an object. Representation is something that represents a situation. Alif's character is described as a strong person, even though he is hurt, he still accompanies him, and is able to adapt to a new environment that suits him. This research uses Charles Sander Pierce's semiotic theory to better understand signs, objects and interpretants. This research aims to determine the representation of leather shoes in the film Ranah 3 Warna on the main character. The method used in this research uses analytical descriptive data collection techniques using the Semiotics approach from Charles Sander Pierce. This research will dissect the representation of leather shoes which is often the focus in films with the character Alif as the main character. From this research, the data obtained shows that Alif's decision making on leather shoes is a representation of the main character, where Alif continues to be strong with himself, just like genuine leather shoes.
