Journal of Applied Islamic Economics and Finance is a journal published by the Accounting Department of Politeknik Negeri Bandung, Indonesia. JAIEF (e-ISSN: 2746-6213) is published thrice a year (October, February, and June). As the name implies, this journal brings two major themes, namely Islamic Economic and Islamic Finance. Islamic economics and finance are strategic issues in the world because of their role and benefit to societies. Therefore, this issue needs more deeply extracted through research. The journal invites scholars, practitioners, and researchers to submit articles to the editorial team. The JAIEF only accepts and reviews the manuscripts that have not been published previously in any language and are not being reviewed for possible publication in other journals.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of NPF (Non Performing Financing) on profitability with the ratio of NPM (Net Profit Margin) of Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia, either partially or simultaneously. The NPF used is the NPF mudharabah, NPF musyarakah, and NPF murabahah. The research conducted is a quantitative research using secondary data obtained from Islamic Banking Statistics 2018-2021 which has been carried out to the public through the official website of the Financial Services Authority. The sample was selected by purposive sampling technique so that the selected sample was Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia. The data analysis method used in this research is multiple linear regression analysis method. The hypothesis test that will be used is the t test to partially test the hypothesis and the F test to test the hypothesis simultaneously. The results showed that partially the mudharabah NPF had a significant effect on the profitability of Islamic commercial banks in a positive direction, while the musyarakah NPF and murabahah NPF partially had no effect on the profitability of Islamic commercial banks. Simultaneously, NPF mudharabah, NPF musyarakah, and NPF murabahah have no effect on the profitability of Islamic Commercial Banks.

Abstract

The growing digital world makes the basis of this research to lead to the world of Financial-Technology increasingly. Through this application, the aim is to be able to analyze the soundness of Islamic Commercial Banks so that the public, especially customers, investors, and scholars who understand the world of banking, see a comparison of the soundness of banks so that they can assess which banks are operating well through their financial turnover and which are not. This application does not only see comparisons in terms of financial performance through ratios, Composite Ratings, and Categories that are raised based on the applicable OJK Regulations, but also can bring up the ranking of each financial ratio, scoring bank values, and also rankings to see which bank The best general Shariah from the inputted data. Based on the process, the FinT application successfully runs according to the purpose of this research.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the magnitude of the effect of the variables CAR, FDR and BOPO as an independent variable directly on ROA as the dependent variable and indirectly through the intervening variable, namely NPF at Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia for the 2015-2020 period. The data used is secondary data derived from the Statistik Perbankan Syariah OJK. The method used in this research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach using Path Analysis and supported by SPSS 25 software as a data processing application. The results showed that CAR have a negative and significant effect and BOPO have a positive and significant effect on NPF, while FDR have no significant effect on NPF. Furthermore, BOPO has a negative and significant effect on ROA, while CAR, FDR and NPF have no significant effect on ROA. The NPF cannot mediate the effect of CAR, FDR and BOPO on ROA.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the sharia stock portfolio that can be formed using the Sharia Compliant Asset Pricing Model (SCAPM) from 2017-2021. SCAPM is a modified form of CAPM which aims to frame the analytical model within the sharia framework. This research is descriptive quantitative research. The sample used is 13 Islamic stocks selected using purposive sampling method. The data used is secondary data obtained from the official websites of the Indonesia Stock Exchange, Bank Indonesia, and Investing.com. The software used to process the data is Microsoft Excel. The research result shows that there are 4 stocks that qualified for optimum stock portfolio, namely ADRO, ANTM, EXCL, and INCO. The largest proportion of funds held by ANTM (39,38%) while the lowest held by EXCL (13,04%) of the total funds.

Abstract

Capital Adequacy Ratio and Third-Party Funds as bank internal factors that can affect financing, while bank external factors are inflation and money supply. Secondary data types for 2010-2022 were obtained from the official websites of OJK, BI, and BMI. The research method uses multiple linear regression model analysis which has the output variable DPK having a positive and significant effect, while CAR and JUB have a partially significant negative effect on BMI financing. Inflation has no effect on financing. Simultaneously all independent variables namely CAR, DPK, Inflation, and JUB have a significant effect on financing.

Abstract

The high number of actors investing in the stock market requires investors to have understanding and information about the rate of return and risk that will occur. For this reason, investors need to know what predictable factors can affect stock returns. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of inflation, exchange rates, BI rates, and foreign exchange reserves on return volatility of conventional and sharia stock indexes. The type of data used is secondary quantitative data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange, Bank Indonesia, the Central Bureau of Statistics, Google Finance. The population in this study is the conventional and sharia stock index. Sample data determined by purposive sampling method. This study uses the Panel Data Regression Analysis model with a combination of time series and cross section data to see the effect of the independent variables on the dependent variable. The data processing aids used in this study were Microsoft Excel 2010 and Eviews version 10. The results of the study found that conventional stock index return volatility for inflation had a negative and significant effect, the BI Rate had a negative and insignificant effect, the exchange rate had a positive and significant effect and device backup has a negative and significant effect. Whereas on the return volatility of the sharia stock index for the inflation variable has a negative and significant effect, the Bi Rate has a negative and significant effect, the exchange rate has a positive and significant effect, and foreign exchange reserves have a negative and insignificant effect.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the amount of the influence of the variables Operational Efficiency Ratio (BOPO), Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR), Firm Size and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) on Return on Asset (ROA) at Rural Bank Sharia (BPRS) in Indonesia. The population used is BPRS registered with the Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK). The data used is secondary data derived from financial reports issued by OJK for the 2016-2021 period. The research method used is quantitative research with panel data regression analysis. The sample used in this study was 51 BPRS. The findings of this study are to provide contribution to BPRS regarding specific factors affecting the ROA of BPRS in Indonesian; and can be used as a reference and consideration for interested parties.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the magnitude of the influence of the variables Third Party Funds (DPK), Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Return on Assets (ROA), Net Operating Margin (NOM), and Inflation on Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR) at at Sharia Commercial Banks in Indonesia 2017-2022 period. The population used is Sharia Commercial Banks in Indonesia. The data used is secondary data derived from the annual report for the 2017-2022 period which is available on each BUS website. The research method used is quantitative research with panel data regression analysis. The result of this study conclude that DPK has a negative no significant effect on FDR, CAR has a significant positive effect on FDR, ROA has a negative no significant effect on FDR, NOM has a positive no significant effect on FDR, and Inflation has a negative no significant effect on FDR. Car has a dominant effect on FDR.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in the prediction results of financial distress at Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia and Islamic Commercial Banks in Malaysia and to determine the effect of the variable ratios of NPF, CAR and FDR on financial distress. The data analysis method uses the Mann Whitney differential test, the results show that there are differences. besides that the data analysis technique used is panel data regression analysis, simultaneously the ratio of NPF, CAR and FDR affects the value of the Z-Score or financial distress. In Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia, partially NPF has no effect on the value of the Z-Score or financial distress. Meanwhile, the CAR and FDR ratios have a positive effect on the Z-Score or financial distress. At Islamic Commercial Banks in Malaysia partially the NPF and CAR ratios have no effect on the Z-Score or financial distress, while the FDR ratio has a negative effect on the Z-Score or financial distress.

Abstract

The background of research was implementation of financial sustainability on Sharia Commercial Banks in Indonesia not optimal since rules Number 51/POJK.03/2017 was published. The objective of research to test the influence of bank-specific factors proxied by CAR, FDR, NPF, BOPO, ROA and corporate governance measured by the number of sharia supervisory board meetings on financial sustainability proxied by Financial Sustainability Ratio (FSR). This research use explanatory quantitative approach. The result indicate that CAR has a significant influence in the same direction on FSR. FDR, BOPO and number of sharia supervisory board meetings have significant influence with the opposite direction on FSR. However, NPF and ROA didn’t have significant influence on FSR. Then, the average of financial sustainability on Sharia Commercial Banks in Indonesia has fulfilled the ideal standard by The World Bank with an FSR average value is 126.91%.
