Abstract

This study investigates the emergence and impact of "Gripep," a term used in Indonesia to describe a combination of flu-like symptoms and psychosocial distress. Utilizing qualitative analysis, we explore the socio-cultural factors contributing to the spread of "Gripep" within Indonesian society. The research highlights the increasing prevalence of these symptoms, which manifest as heightened anxiety, depressive tendencies, and general unease. Through a comprehensive review of recent academic literature, expert interviews, and public health reports, we identify key influences such as urbanization, cultural practices, and mental health stigma that exacerbate the condition. The findings reveal significant challenges in healthcare management, underscoring the need for integrated care that addresses both physical and mental health aspects. Furthermore, the study evaluates current public health strategies aimed at controlling "Gripep," emphasizing the importance of culturally sensitive interventions. The results indicate that without timely detection and effective management, "Gripep" may lead to long-term health consequences, impacting individuals and communities. This research aims to inform policymakers and healthcare professionals, providing insights for the development of evidence-based interventions to combat this emerging public health challenge in Indonesia.

Abstract

The feeding process in infants with cleft lip and palate is greatly influenced by the ability to suck and swallow. Infants with this condition often have difficulty in sucking and swallowing effectively, which can lead to longer feeding duration, fatigue in the infant, risk of aspiration, and decreased nutritional intake. Inefficient oral feeding can inhibit the growth and development of the infant. Therefore, feeding infants with cleft lip and/or palate requires great care and knowledge from the mother. If not treated quickly and appropriately, this condition can cause malnutrition, growth retardation, and other health complications. This study aims to determine the description of feeding and intervention in infants with cleft lip and palate. The method used is meta-analysis, with a range of articles selected from 2015 to 2025. Article searches were carried out systematically and comprehensively through the PubMed, Science Direct, Elsevier, and Google Scholar databases, using the PICO (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome) model to determine the eligibility of the article. Articles that met the qualitative criteria were reviewed again, and from this process six articles were obtained that were eligible for quantitative analysis. This meta-analysis showed that infants and children with cleft lip and palate had lower developmental outcomes than those without the condition (effect value -0.41; 95% CI = -0.29 to 0.01). The six primary studies were from countries such as South Africa, the United States, Brazil, and Italy, and were cross-sectional in design.

Abstract

Premature birth is one of the leading causes of infant mortality and complications. Early identification of pregnant women at risk of premature delivery is crucial for appropriate management. This study aims to develop a predictive model for premature birth risk using the Naïve Bayes method based on maternal health data from RSUD Rantauprapat. The data used includes variables such as mother's age, nutritional status, blood pressure, and history of premature birth. The study applies Naïve Bayes to predict the classes of premature birth risk, namely "Premature" and "Not Premature", with data divided into 70% for training and 30% for testing. The results show that the Naïve Bayes model achieved an accuracy of 78.33% in predicting premature birth risk. Additionally, the model shows precision of 89.29%, recall of 83.33%, and F1-score of 86.1%, indicating good performance in detecting pregnant women at risk of premature birth. Comparison with other models, such as Logistic Regression and Decision Tree, demonstrates that Naïve Bayes provides the best results in terms of accuracy and balance between precision and recall. This study shows that Naïve Bayes can be an effective tool for early detection of premature birth and can be implemented in medical decision-making systems at hospitals to improve the management of high-risk pregnant women. The results of this study can serve as a foundation for further research that develops predictive models by adding features or other algorithms.

Abstract

The application of information technology in the healthcare sector has been rapidly advancing with the development of artificial intelligence. One of its potential applications is the use of chatbots powered by the Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) algorithm to enhance maternal health education access for pregnant women. Although health information is increasingly accessible, pregnant women often face challenges in obtaining accurate education about pregnancy due to limitations in time, location, and access to medical professionals. Puskesmas, as a primary healthcare center, plays a crucial role but is limited by the number of healthcare workers and operational hours, reducing the effectiveness of maternal health education delivery. Therefore, AI-powered chatbots can provide instant, personalized information that can be accessed anytime and anywhere. In this study, the developed chatbot using the RNN algorithm is capable of processing conversations contextually, providing relevant answers according to the stage of pregnancy and the specific needs of the pregnant woman. The implementation of this chatbot at Puskesmas Kota Rantauprapat is expected to improve the accessibility of maternal health education, reduce anxiety among pregnant women, and minimize the need for physical visits for common questions. The results of this study demonstrate the potential of RNN-based chatbots as an efficient tool in supporting maternal health education through digital platforms.

Abstract

HIV/AIDS is a disease that has received significant attention from various parties. Indonesia is one of the countries experiencing a significant increase in cases. However, Indonesia is still lagging behind in achieving the global target of HIV control, namely 95-95-95. As of December 2022, the first 95 percent achievement is still at 81%; for the second 95 percent, the achievement is still less than half (41%) who are still on ARV treatment; the third 95 percent achievement is only 19% of PLHIV on ARV treatment whose viruses are suppressed. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of adolescents at SMA Negeri 06 Mandau regarding HIV/AIDS in 2024. This study was conducted cross-sectionally by administering questionnaires to students of SMA Negeri 06 Mandau from May to September 2024. The sample was taken by total sampling from the population at SMA Negeri 06 Mandau. Of the 55 students who were respondents in this study, 5 people (9.1%) had good knowledge, 24 people (43.6%) had sufficient knowledge, and 26 people (47.3%) had insufficient knowledge. Based on the results of the chi square test of the relationship between adolescent knowledge and HIV/AIDS transmission in SMA Negeri 06 Mandau in 2024, with a degree of significance (α) = 0.1 and df = 1, the calculation results were obtained based on a significance value <0.05, then Ho was rejected and if the significance value> 0.05, then Ho was accepted because the significance value <0.05 (0.000 <0.05) then Ho was rejected, meaning there was a relationship between adolescent knowledge and HIV/AIDS transmission in SMA Negeri 06 Mandau, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province in 2024. The conclusion of this study is to increase knowledge and information among adolescents about the perception of HIV/AIDS transmission in SMA Negeri 06 Mandau, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province.
