Abstract

The Effect of Upwelling on Distribution and Abundance of Phytoplankton in Indonesia. East Monsoon is monsoon where upwelling process happened in Banda Sea. Information about upwelling effect to the abundance and distribution of phytoplankton in Banda Sea is not known much.yet. That way has been done the investigation in August 1997 as vice of east monsoon and October 1998 as vice of transition monsoon as comparation.. The abundance and distribution data collected by taken phytoplankton sample in 100 m depth to surface by using plankton net with diameter 31 cm, 120 cm length, and eyes net size 80 µm. The results in east monsoon (August 1997) where (upwelling) still done. This correlation seen from regresi value between temperature and salinity (r2 = 84,1 %), temperature and nitrate (94,5%) In east monsoon recorded 33 phytoplankton species, composition of phytoplankton is varied more compared to transition monsoon where found 26 phytoplankton species only. In east monsoon dominance phytoplankton is Chaetoceros sp. Further analysis by using multivariate analysis, nitrate factor affect to abundance, composition, and distribution of phytoplankton.

Abstract

Effect of Heavy Metals Pollution to Seawater Quality and Fishery Resources (Case Study on Fish Death in Jakarta Bay). Observation on heavy metals content in sea water were carried out in Jakarta Bay waters in May 2004. Heavy metals observed were Hg, Pb, Cd, Cu, Zn and Ni. This observation is conducted with fishes total death in this waters. Observation is done in Ancol beach 1 (3 stations), Ancol beach 2 (4 stations), Cilincing (3 stations), and Dadap River estuary (4 Station). The results showed that the average concentration of Hg, Cd and Cu in Ancol beach 1 were

Abstract

Study of the Capability of Niosomes that Used Maltodextrin from Garut Starch (Maranta arundinaceae Linn.) as a Chlorpheniramine Maleate Carrier. The aim of this research was to study the entrapment ability of ampiphylic drug, chlorpheniramine maleate (CTM), by niosome. Like liposomes, niosomes is an encapsulated drug carrier that has important role in a drug release system. Niosomes and liposomes are unstable, but niosomes could be handled by proniosomes. Proniosomes in this research was prepared using the combination of maltodextrin DE 5-10 from arrowroot starch (Maranta arundinaceae Linn.), Span 60 and Cholesterol as non ionic surfactant in six formulas. The entrapment level of CTM depends on combination of surfactant in proniosomes, drug substance concentration and proniosomes quantity, temperature, and hydration times. Niosomes (10mM) that was prepared by proniosomes in formula 3 has been hydrated at 80 oC for 2 minutes using demineralized water could entrapped 94,04%, of 1 mM CTM. The proniosomes in formula 3 was increased up to 30 mM surfactant and 10 mM CTM in niosomes, could increase the entrapment of CTM.

Abstract

The Multiple Query of Information Retrieval System Based on Inference Network. The multiple query is a query that combines Boolean and probabilistic query on the information retrieval inference network system, the system consists of two components i.e. a dokument and a query network, they are joined by links between the representation and query concepts. The document network build an inverted belief list and the query network are evaluated by using canonical matrix. The similarity process between representation and query conceps yields a set of relevant document retrieved. The experiment has showed that the use of multiple query formulations will significantly improve the retrieval perfomance, compared to either the Boolean or probabilistic query
