Abstract

The aim of the research was to study the effect of organic fertilizer and Nitrogen (N) on the growth and yield of peanuts on ultisol soils. The study was conducted in the Labibia sub district, Kendari city, from July to October 2023. The study was arranged in a randomized block design (RAK) in a factorial pattern with three replications consisting of 2 factors. The first factor was organic fertilizer which consisted of 4 levels, namely: control (B0), 5 t ha-1 (B1), 10 t ha-1 (B2), and 15 t ha-1 (B3). The second factor was Nitrogen fertilizer which consisted of 3 levels, namely control (P0), 100 kg ha-1 (NPK1), and 200 kg ha-1 (NPK2) so that there were 4x3x3=36 experimental units. Observation variables included: plant height(cm), leaf area(cm2), 100 seed dry weight (g), yield per plot (g) and yield per ha (t ha-1). The results showed that there was an interaction between organic fertilizer and Nitrogen on the observed variables. The best results were obtained on the treatment of 15 t ha-1 of organic fertilizer and 200 kg ha-1 of Nitrogen fertilizer with the highest production reached 2.21 t ha-1.

Abstract

The success of cocoa cultivation is the use of quality plant seeds, one of which is cocoa seedlings obtained through the technique of Somatic Embryogenesis (SE) propagation is the latest method that can produce planlets that are the same as the source, have taproots and branching structures similar to plants from seeds. Another advantage of the SE technique is that it can mass produce seedlings, free of pests and diseases, more uniform growth, better vigor, high yield and drought resistance. This study aims to determine Farmers' Perceptions of Growth and Production of Cocoa Seedlings of Somatic Embryogenesis (SE) in Rejuvenation Activities in Palarahi Village, Wawotobi Subdistrict, Konawe Regency. The sample size was 20 respondents determined by the census method. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, and recording. Data analysis used in this research is descriptive qualitative processed in the form of Likert scale level 5, which is then done scoring and the results are summed and averaged to classify high, medium and low perception of farmers. The results showed that farmers' perceptions of the growth and production of Somatic Embryogenesis (SE) cocoa seedlings were in the high category, in other words, better than the previous cocoa plants. So that the quality and profit they feel has been achieved although not fully maximized, but it has given its own satisfaction by planting SE seedlings.

Abstract

Cow manure converted into organic fertiliser is of good quality and has a high sales value. The use of faeces and urine as organic fertiliser is very beneficial, especially for soil fertility, and provides the necessary nutrients for plants. The village of Alebo has a majority of farmers, so fertilizer is the main need for the management of crops such as rice, maize, sweet potato, beans and other crops, as well as in the surrounding village communities, which also have a majority of rice fields and are farmers. Urban communities also need fertilizers to fertilize ornamental plants in their gardens. The processing of cow dung into organic fertiliser in Alebo village, Konda sub-district, is one of the areas affected by the covid-19 virus pandemic, so it is important to analyse the added value and benefits of organic fertiliser production. The objective of this study is to analyze the added value and benefits of organic fertilizer manufacturing activities after the covid-19 pandemic in Alebo village, Konda sub-county. This study should serve as a demonstration tool for other districts or surrounding villages that have not yet converted cow dung into organic fertilizer, as well as a training forum for farmers/ranchers in agricultural areas to integrate agriculture and livestock production in synergy in the same area to support the realization of food self-sufficiency. The results showed that value added and profits generally declined before the covid-19 programme and that while the covid-19 programme actually led to a decline in activity, the post-covid-19

Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze the cooperative pattern, advantages, and disadvantages of the California Papaya Farmer Group with Hypermart Lippo Plaza Kendari. The research utilized a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The study's informants are California papaya farmers who have a cooperative relationship with Hypermart Lippo Plaza, intentionally selected based on predetermined criteria. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation methods. Data were collected through an interview guide and analyzed using qualitative methods as described by Mills and Huberman, including field notes, information collection, information presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the California papaya farmer group cooperated with Hypermart Lippo Plaza Kendari through a sub-contract partnership pattern. The cooperation pattern offers several advantages, including price and market certainty, production continuity, and higher product selling prices for farmers who participate. However, one major shortcoming of this pattern is that Hypermart Lippo Plaza Kendari does not distribute farming risks, meaning that the partner group bears all the risk.
