Abstract

Krisis lingkungan hidup telah menjadi bagian dari malapetaka umat manusia secara global. Dari perspektif etika Buddhisme, krisis ini dapat dilihat sebagai buah karmatik dari degradasi moral manusia yang dimotivasi oleh keserakahan, kebencian, dan delusi. Pertanyaan yang muncul ialah: “Bagaimana jalan keluar yang ditawarkan etika Buddhisme untuk mengatasi krisis lingkungan hidup saat ini?” Tulisan ini menawarkan konsep Pañca sila dalam etika Buddhisme sebagai dasar-dasar moral praktis untuk merenovasi lingkungan hidup dan membangun alam menjadi tempat tinggal yang damai dan adil.

Abstract

The role of youth within the Church is pivotal yet currently challenged by various factors impacting their active participation in religious activities. Significant decline in youth attendance at mass and low engagement in church and Catholic organizations are becoming pressing issues for the Church, which seeks to remain relevant to younger generations. This study, guided by the document Christus Vivit by Pope Francis, aims to analyze the challenges faced by youth and the opportunities for their empowerment within the Church. A qualitative approach, particularly library research, was employed to conduct an in-depth analysis of Christus Vivit alongside other relevant Church documents and academic literature. Data were organized into key themes including the role of youth, challenges of secularization, identity crisis, and the influence of social media. The findings reveal that secularization and social media significantly shape the youth's perception of religion, often leading to a sense of detachment from Church values. However, Christus Vivit highlights that youth are not just the future but the present of the Church, capable of bringing innovation and vitality if adequately supported. Effective pastoral care, inclusive mentorship, and leveraging technology for evangelization are essential strategies for empowering youth. The study concludes that the Church must adopt a responsive and inclusive approach to engage youth, addressing their unique challenges while fostering their active involvement in Church life. This requires collaborative efforts between Church leaders, parents, and educators to create an environment that supports the spiritual and personal growth of the youth, ensuring their integral role in the Church today and in the future.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini membahas kompleksitas perkawinan beda gereja, khususnya antara pasangan Katolik dan Protestan di salah satu paroki di Kota Ambon. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah bagaimana pasangan-pasangan ini memahami dan menjalani tujuan perkawinan mereka di tengah perbedaan agama. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan pasangan, tetangga, dan pemimpin agama. Studi ini menemukan adanya kekuatan dan tantangan dalam perkawinan semacam ini. Kekuatan yang ditemukan meliputi komunikasi yang efektif, toleransi, dan saling menghormati, yang memungkinkan pasangan untuk membangun rumah tangga yang harmonis meskipun memiliki keyakinan agama yang berbeda. Namun, tantangan muncul dari kurangnya pemahaman tentang makna religius perkawinan dan ketidakpatuhan yang konsisten terhadap praktik keagamaan, terutama dalam hal pendidikan anak dalam iman Katolik. Temuan ini menunjukkan pentingnya konseling pra-nikah yang tepat dan dukungan berkelanjutan dari gereja dan komunitas. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pasangan beda agama dapat berhasil mengatasi tantangan dalam perkawinan mereka dengan dukungan yang tepat, sehingga mencapai kehidupan keluarga yang stabil dan memuaskan.AbstractThis research addresses the complexities of interfaith marriages, particularly between Catholic and Protestant partners in a parish in Ambon City. The primary focus is on how these couples understand and live out the purpose of their marriage amidst religious differences. Using a qualitative approach, data was collected through in-depth interviews with the couples, their neighbors, and religious leaders. The study reveals both strengths and challenges in such marriages. Strengths include effective communication, tolerance, and mutual respect, which allow couples to build harmonious households despite differing religious beliefs. However, challenges arise from inadequate understanding of the religious significance of marriage and inconsistent adherence to religious practices, particularly concerning the upbringing of children in the Catholic faith. The findings suggest the importance of proper pre-marital counselling and continuous support from both the church and the community. The study concludes that interfaith couples can successfully navigate the challenges of their marriage with the right support, leading to stable and fulfilling family lives.

Abstract

Life is often ambiguous, and many people struggle with various problems. Psalm 23 is a familiar biblical text that describes God as a shepherd who nurtures and saves His people. The purpose of this writing is to understand the theological meaning of Psalm 23, where the Lord Jesus guides the way of life for His people. The author supports their discussion with related books and journal articles. The use of this method aims to clarify the author's intent and purpose for the reader. This article employs a text analysis approach to examine the Lord Jesus as the good shepherd, who is capable of ruling over all creation and serving as a bridge for individuals to overcome life's challenges.

Abstract

Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah memberikan pemahaman tentang dampak keterlibatan otoritas parokial dalam politik praktis. Dalam kerangka penulisan ini, digunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Artikel ini menjelaskan bahwa Otoritas parokial diberikan tugas dan wewenang oleh Uskup Diosesan untuk membantunya dalam reksa pastoral keuskupan. Dalam kuasa (potestas), otoritas parokial memiliki power atau pengaruh besar dalam relasi sosial, baik dalam kalangan masyarakat atau dengan kuasa sipil. Hasil kajian dalam penulisan ini memperlihatkan bahwa Kuasa yang dimiliki oleh otoritas parokial sering dipakai untuk kepentingan politik praktis. Keterlibatan dalam politik praktis oleh otoritas parokial selalu berdampak pada pandangan buruk umat terhadap jabatan imamatnya serta secara yuridis melanggar aturan Gereja, kecuali jika diizinkan oleh otoritas gerejawi.
