Abstract

Mental health in the workplace is essential because it can affect employees' performance and productivity. One effective strategy to maintain mental health in the workplace is developing dispositional mindfulness in employees. This study aimed to describe dispositional mindfulness as an internal resource of employees in a railway transportation service provider in Jakarta, Indonesia. The study highlights mindfulness as a dispositional trait influencing cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functions, enhancing stress management, work performance, relationships, and overall well-being. The authors used a survey method to distribute the Dispositional Mindfulness at Work Scale to 357 employees in supervisory positions through quota sampling. Data analysis, conducted using SPSS 21.0, revealed that respondents generally exhibited strong dispositional mindfulness, with significant differences based on age and education level. Among the components of mindfulness, awareness emerged as the dominant trait, followed by acceptance, attention, and present focus. These findings suggest that management can implement mindfulness programs to enhance work performance and service quality. This study contributes to the literature on mindfulness in organizational settings, particularly within the railway transportation sector.

Abstract

The change in status of forest areas to Special Purpose Forest Areas (KHDTK) aims to optimize forest resource management to support sustainability and sustainable use. KHDTK Mungku Baru is one example of an area managed by the local government and universities, but it faces various challenges, especially conflicts of interest between stakeholders. This research aims to analyze the role of stakeholders in managing KHDTK Mungku Baru and understand the interests and influence of each party in the management process. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with various parties involved, such as local governments, academics, NGOs, and the surrounding community. The results of the study indicate that stakeholders in the management of KHDTK Mungku Baru can be categorized into four groups based on their level of influence and interests: key players, context setters, subjects, and crowd. Local communities have high interests but low influence in the management of KHDTK, thus requiring a more effective empowerment approach. Meanwhile, local governments and academic institutions, as key players, play a major role in decision-making and policy implementation. To optimize the management of KHDTK Mungku Baru, a collaborative strategy that actively involves all stakeholders is needed.

Abstract

This study presents a thematic literature review examining Information and Communication Technology (ICT) adoption among Malaysian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) using the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework. It synthesizes findings from recent empirical studies (2016–2024) and evaluates how technological, organizational, and environmental factors influence ICT adoption and SME performance, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Key insights highlight that perceived relative advantage, top management support, and competitive pressure are consistent enablers, while factors such as complexity and regulatory support yield mixed results depending on context. The pandemic accelerated digital transformation, reshaping organizational behavior and external environments. This review argues that although the TOE framework remains relevant, it must be adapted to account for temporal shifts and crisis responsiveness. The findings offer practical guidance for SME leaders and policymakers and call for structural support to promote long-term digital resilience. Limitations include reliance on existing studies and lack of longitudinal data. Future research should empirically validate extended TOE models and explore sector-specific and cross-regional adoption patterns.

Abstract

Teacher performance plays a critical role in improving educational quality. This study analyzes the influence of democratic leadership by school principals, management of work stress, and work ethic on teacher performance in Catholic junior high schools in Karo Regency. Employing a quantitative approach, data were analyzed using regression and path analysis to examine direct and indirect relationships among the variables. The results indicate that democratic leadership has both a direct positive effect on teacher performance (path coefficient = 0.246) and an indirect effect through work ethic. Democratic leadership also positively influences work ethic (coefficient = 0.213), while work stress management has an even stronger effect on work ethic (coefficient = 0.266). Among all variables, work ethic exerts the strongest influence on teacher performance (coefficient = 0.515), making it the most dominant factor. These findings suggest that while effective leadership and stress management contribute to better teacher outcomes, strengthening teachers’ work ethic is key to achieving optimal performance. School management should therefore prioritize fostering a positive work culture and supportive environment to enhance both work ethic and performance.

Abstract

Religious-based boycotts have gained global relevance as consumers respond to sociopolitical and ethical concerns. This study investigates how perceived success likelihood influences intention to participate in religious boycotts, with attitude toward the boycott acting as a mediating variable. Grounded in the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), the research tests four hypotheses using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) based on responses from 225 Indonesian participants. The results reveal that perceived success likelihood has a strong positive effect on attitude (? = 0.776, p 0.001), which in turn significantly influences intention to participate (? = 0.809, p 0.001). While perceived success likelihood also shows a significant direct effect on intention, this becomes non-significant when attitude is included, indicating full mediation. These findings highlight the critical role of perceived campaign effectiveness in shaping consumer attitudes and driving participation in religious boycotts. The study contributes to the literature on consumer activism and offers practical insights for advocacy organizations aiming to strengthen public engagement through strategically crafted messages

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has severely impacted small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), exposing limitations in their resources and adaptability. This study investigates how digital technology capability, relational capability, the quality of external expertise, and organizational agility influence the performance of Malaysian manufacturing SMEs during the pandemic. Anchored in the Resource-Based View (RBV) and Contingency Theory (CT), the study adopts a systematic literature review (SLR) method using SCOPUS-indexed journals. Through a rigorous filtering process, ten core empirical articles were selected to explore how internal and external capabilities interact with pandemic-induced disruptions. The findings reveal that digital and relational capabilities enhance organizational agility, which in turn positively influences SME performance. The study also introduces COVID-19 impact as a moderating factor and highlights the mediating role of agility in performance outcomes. These insights offer strategic guidance for SME leaders and policymakers to prioritize digital investments and collaborative networks. The research contributes to theory-building by integrating RBV and CT in crisis contexts and sets the stage for future empirical validation across diverse sectors and regions.

Abstract

Indonesia's cosmetics industry experienced a growth of 21.9%, increasing from 913 companies in 2022 to 1,010 companies by mid-2023. During January to November 2023, exports of cosmetics, fragrances, and essential oils reached USD 770.8 million (KKBPRI, 2024). Skintific has emerged as one of the popular skincare brands in Indonesia, leveraging high-quality products and dynamic social media campaigns, particularly on platforms like Instagram and TikTok. This research explores the effects of emotional appeal and Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) on impulsive buying during TikTok flash sales, with visual appeal acting as a mediating factor. Utilizing a quantitative approach with 385 Skintific users from Indonesia, data were analyzed using SMART PLS version 3.1. The findings reveal that both emotional appeal and FOMO have a direct and significant positive impact on impulsive buying and visual appeal. Visual appeal itself significantly influences impulsive buying. Moreover, emotional appeal and FOMO also indirectly affect impulsive buying behavior through the enhancement of visual appeal.

Abstract

Flickingeria bicostata (J.J.Sm) is a wild orchid species found abundantly in the Special Purpose Forest Area (KHDTK) of Mungku Baru, Central Kalimantan. Despite its significant economic potential, it has not received enough attention in research and sustainable management planning. Currently traded in ornamental plant markets without clear management strategies, the species is at risk of overexploitation. This study aims to formulate management priorities using SWOT and AHP approaches, balancing conservation with economic potential. It uses a qualitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires and in-depth interviews. Respondents were selected purposively based on their involvement in managing KHDTK Mungku Baru. The research identified four main strategic priorities: forest patrols for monitoring KHDTK Mungku Baru (Strategy 1, 17%), engaging local communities in collaborative efforts (Strategy 2, 21.3%), formulating climate change-related management policies (Strategy 3, 23.9%), and promoting orchid conservation strategies (Strategy 4, 37.8%). In conclusion, Flickingeria bicostata requires sustainable management strategies, focusing on forest patrols, community involvement, climate change policies, and conservation efforts. The practical implications suggest the need for community-based management policies and enhanced monitoring.

Abstract

This study aims to examine turnover intention among Generation Z employees in Surabaya, Indonesia. The sample consisted of 212 non-managerial employees. Data were collected through an online survey using Google Forms and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) via SmartPLS software. The results revealed that workplace incivility has a positive and significant effect on burnout; workplace incivility also has a positive and significant effect on turnover intention; burnout positively and significantly influences turnover intention; burnout mediates the relationship between workplace incivility and turnover intention; and transformational leadership moderates the relationship between workplace incivility and burnout.The practical implication of this study emphasizes the importance of leadership in fostering a positive communication culture, building rapport among employees, being proactive in conflict resolution, and taking firm action against inappropriate workplace behavior. Theoretically, the findings contribute to a deeper empirical understanding of the moderating role of transformational leadership. Leadership has been shown to act as a psychological buffer but may not entirely resolve psychological distress experienced by employees.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of change management concerning the teacher code of ethics at SMA Unggul Del in the context of Generation Z student behavior. The objective is to evaluate the extent and effectiveness of change management strategies applied to the teacher's code of ethics in addressing the specific behavioral characteristics of Generation Z students within this educational setting. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews with teachers and students, classroom observations, and questionnaires to gain comprehensive insights. The findings revealed inconsistencies between teachers' comprehension of the ethical code and its practical application, alongside difficulties in managing technology use, a prominent aspect of Generation Z's behavior. Consequently, this research suggests the necessity of targeted change interventions, such as continuous professional development and collaborative strategy development. In conclusion, effective change management is crucial for enhancing the practical application of the teacher code of ethics, thereby fostering a more supportive and productive learning environment tailored to the needs of Generation Z students
