This creative work is about the cinematography report from the screenplay meal for two by Satrio Haryanto. The story tells about two neighbors, a man and a woman, who lives next door but they do not know about each other personally. The woman realizes that the man attracted to her but she prefers to keep her distance, but after sometime, they get together since both shares the same secret. This creative work aims to portray the mood in order to create suspense, distance and closeness and to show the man’s paraphilia, the man’s curiosity, and the woman’s introversion. An in-depth analysis will be further developed to portray the mood. In order to support those elements, there are several techniques used such as low-key lighting, framing. These techniques are to help the cinematographer to convey the drama suspense genre. In addition, a detailed analysis will further explain different uses of camera work, lighting, and color in building the characterization in the whole movie. As a result, my work as a cinematographer will explain on how the mood and characterization on this film fits with the drama suspense genre. Keywords: cinematography, low-key lighting, camerawork, color, framing.

This research aims to analyze the representation of male and female characters’ qualities that are portrayed in Zootopia. The research also aims to show how the qualities are deconstructed as well as how to deconstruct the deconstruction in the movie as a method of analysis. Through the analysis the writer finds that the representation of qualities in Zootopia follows the traditional gender stereotypes, where men are considered superior than women. However, as the story progresses, the writer finds that the qualities in the movie are gradually deconstructed, showing that women are superior than men. After deconstructing the deconstruction in the movie, the writer finds that meaning can “disseminate” or can be perceived in different ways. Furthermore, from the analysis, the writer finds that both oppositions are actually interdependent to each other and complement as a whole. This means neither of the oppositions is stronger or weaker than the other. Keywords: Gender roles, Masculine and Feminine Gender Stereotypes, Deconstruction, Binary Opposition, Violent Hierarchy

PT. WY is a manufacturing company which produces household and personal care products. Their main target market is family. The main problem is that new employees have no idea what to expect from this company, since there is no written information about employee benefits. Based on interviews and surveys, most employees did not know about the employee benefits of PT. WY, and the HRD representatives also agreed that they often asked about it. PT. WY actually has the handout, however, it is not complete yet, so they did not use it. Therefore, the solution is a handbook to describe employee benefits for the new employees. This project is done after reviewing theories by Bloomfield, Schofield, and Cantesbury (2015) and Martocchio (2016) and information from the company. This handbook is expected to help the company and its employees to always refer every information to the handbook. Keywords: employee, benefits, handbook

As a screenplay project about youngsters’ work life, The Survivors follows a story of three young interns named Clara, Sebastian, and Bakti in their journey during the internship program held by a famous e-commerce company. Having not enough experience working in a company, the interns have a hard time to survive in the company. Moreover, they also have non-work related problems. Luckily, these interns later learn about Self-Determination. Being self-determined means that the interns can intrinsically motivate themselves, do things by their own initiative, and also decide things based on their moral or values. Using Deci & Ryan’s Self Determination Theory in work life context, the creative work shows the importance of self-determination in facing the challenges at the work place and how youngsters can actually gain self-determination. The genre is Dramedy as it shows what usually happens to youngsters in a work place then filled it with humors so that it can be entertaining. This study analyzes how L-Men persuades its target market to buy its products through the use of a masculinity image in its two advertisements. The two advertisements which the writer studied are entitled “L-Men 2018: 2Go & Gain Mass: Men’s Guide” and “Iklan L-Men Gain Mass Terbaru 2014 Versi Albert Sultan”. In order to find out how masculinity is portrayed in the two advertisements, the researcher sets his analysis on the advertisements’ verbal and non-verbal expressions. In so doing, the researcher conducts his analysis using the theory of Multimodal Discourse Analysis. Within the findings, it is revealed that despite both advertisements are indeed portraying masculinity, how each advertisement shows what is seen as masculine is different from one another. One advertisement shows that masculinity is based on a man’s aesthetical appearance and the other advertisement shows that masculinity is based on the physical strength of a man. This study was done to find out: (1) the types of oral corrective feedback (CF) strategies, (2) the types of learners’ uptake, and (3) the types of learners’ uptake elicited in relation to the teacher’s types of oral CF. In order to answer the research questions, the writer applied two theories, Sheen and Ellis (2011) for oral CF strategies and Panova and Lyster (2002) for the types of learners’ uptake, as the guideline. This study used qualitative approach, using audio recording. The findings showed that there were forty three (43) oral CF occuring in the class, and forty one (41) uptakes elicited in relation to teacher’s oral CF. There were 2 (two) oral CF which did not result in uptake. Six (6) out of nine (9) oral CF strategies and seven (7) out of ten (10) types of learners’ uptake occurred in the class. Didactic Recast was the most frequently applied oral CF strategies, whereas Repetition was the most frequently applied learners’ uptake type. There were 18 types of oral CF strategies and learners’ uptake sequences occurring in the class, and the most occurring sequence was Didactic Recasts – Repetition, with total 11 times. There were some possible reasons why uptakes did not occur: learners were taking too long to answer or the teacher did not want to wait longer expecting that learner had already known the correct form through prior explanation. In order to maintain the class running smoothly, the teacher sometimes was faced to a situation when none uptakes were elicited from the learners. Japanese animations (anime) are worldwide known. They are targeted to various kinds of audience. A drama-sport anime entitled Free! is rarely found as the targeted audience is female audience. Because Free! targets female audience, the definition of the ideal men is defined from the point of view of the female audience. Therefore, the gaze which is used to identify the male protagonists is female gaze. By using the theory of male gaze and traditional male sex role themes, I found that there is a combination of masculinity and femininity in the male protagonists in Free!. The combined characteristics are shown in the physical appearance, personality traits, and roles. The appearance of this type of an ideal man leads to a new concept in Japan which is called bishōnen. Keywords: Anime, ideal man, masculinity, femininity, female gaze, bishōnen.

This study examine the causes and the after effects of cannibalism that the survivors of Essex commit in Ron Howard’s In The Heart of the Sea. The main theory for this study is the theory of human’s life and death instinct by Sigmund Freud and also the theory of survival cannibalism. In collecting the materials of the analysis, the researcher examine the details of the films multiple times to get the footage which later used as proofs to reveals the causes and effects of cannibalism. The findings showed that the unfulfilled basic needs and anxiety are the major causes of cannibalism and also that the guilty feeling and fear of people are the aftermath effects of cannibalism. This shows that the act of consuming human flesh affects their lives throughout their lives until they died of old age. As a result, cannibalism had a big impact, both negative and positive, on the survivors’ lives. Keywords: Cannibalism, Human Instinct, Survival, Anxiety
