Abstract

Toko Aneka Gelas was established in 1998. It is located at Saranani No.39, Makassar. Toko Aneka Gelas is the shop that sells household in category of tableware like glass, plate, jar, etc. The average the products sold in the shop is made of glass. Toko Aneka Gelas has a problem that must be solved immediately which is Toko Aneka Gelas experienced decrease sales since five years ago. Therefore, the best solution to solve this problem is to make a promotional video. The reason why a promotional video is the best solution to overcome the problem is because it can help increase the customer and also can attract the new target customer which is Café owners. The promotional video was made following Colman (2019) in order to make good promotional video. The solution will give three benefits according to Mishra (2015). The benefits are: it is increasing brand awareness, segment identification, and the customer traffic. Keywords: promotional video, sales, promoting

Abstract

This short story series is a coming-of-age and dystopian series that focuses on the impacts of the fear of imagination and discrimination on preteens and how they cope with it. This fear is shown through a virus named imaginatio virus, a special virus that attacks the main characters to induce imagination. The government made imagination-prevention and discrimination rules to get rid of the virus completely. We explore how the fear of imagination and discrimination affect the four main characters in each story. We apply the theory of social influence, discrimination, and coping mechanisms to show how Dylan, Elias, Bryna, and Corina deal with the effects of discrimination. In our creative work, we show that the four main characters succeed in being confident by focusing on the strength in themselves, finding help in trusted people, and not dwelling in the problem. Keywords: imagination, short stories, discrimination, dystopian, coming-of-age

Abstract

Webtoon is a popular digital-comic media. For this thesis, I will analyze a thriller Webtoon Bastard because it has a great theme, plot, drawing style, and good reviews. The story focuses on the conflicts between a father (Dongsoo Seon), who is also a murderer, and his son (Jin Seon), which inspires me to take the failure in a father-and-son’s relationship as my topic. Therefore, I want to explore what factors trigger father-and-son’s conflicts and how those factors lead to the failure in the father-and-son’s relationship. I apply the theory of father-and-son’s conflict. I want to show Dongsoo’s and Jin’s different ways of thinking on concepts of happiness and love, parental roles, and parental authority create conflicts because of no emotional bond and agreement related to familism values, discrepancy between expectations and reality, and no room for adolescent’s independence. In conclusion, the complexity in this relationship can attract Webtoon’s readers. Keywords: father and son, single parent, adolescent, conflicts in the family, webtoon

Abstract

This creative thesis focuses on understanding the relation between using social media and social anxiety. The goal of this work is to understand what causes the disorder to appear after exposures to social media and the effect it has on someone. To reach that goal, this creative thesis uses the Presentation of Self Theory and Social Anxiety theory to understand how social media could cause social anxiety and how it affects their life externally . It shows that the problem comes from the desire to become “perfect” in society and after that it would lead to the heightened fear of judgement that is the trigger of social anxiety. Further, social anxiety would prevent someone from living a good social life. Therefore, by understanding people’s desire to be “perfect” and the effects of social anxiety, we can see that being overly afraid of being judged on social media could ruin someone’s life.Keywords: Social Media, Social Anxiety, Presentation of Self, Screenplay, Cyberpunk
