Buletin Psikologi focuses on contextualizing psychological concepts or phenomena within the socio-cultural setting of Indonesia through the use of non-empirical study, such as, literature review, systematic review, scoping review, and meta-analysis. It accepts articles that are based on the thorough and systematic examination of psychological constructs from the perspective of Indonesian context. The journal is open access, peer-reviewed, and published biannually. We accept and publishes articles in English and Bahasa Indonesia languages to accommodate our diverse audience in Indonesia and internationally.

Abstract

Under the new law and regulations, private higher education institutions(PTS in Indonesian term) are now given ample opportunities to manage their own institutions without necessary intervention from Directorate General of Higher Education (DGHE). With greater freedom from DGHE control, Universitas Islam Indonesia (best known as UII) inits effort to improve performance, has decided to redesign its organization, arguing that the existing design does not fit with the changing environment.

Abstract

Kesadaran telah menjadi satu topik terpenting kajian psikologi dan ilmu pengetahuan lain dewasa ini. Penelusuran dokumen lewat Proquest dengan mengetik kata consciousness akan menghasilkan 11.435 artikel, sedangkan lewat EBSCO dengan prosedur yangsama menghasilkan 14.094 artikel. Tidak salah jika Zeman (2001) menggambarkan minat terhadap kesadaran sebagai air pasang yang sedang naik dibarengi dengan gelombang publikasi, jurnal baruserta pertemuan ilmiah bertopik kesadaran. Topik kesadaran menurutnya (Zeman, 2001) telah menjadi satu tantangan intelektual lintas disiplin mulai dari neurosains, psikologi sampai filsafat. Senada dengan pendapat ini, seorang ahli lain Pawlik (1998, h. 185)menganalogikan diterimanya kesadaran sebagai konstruk psikologi yang sah seperti peristiwa renaissance. Hal ini disebabkan riset mengenai hakekat, struktur dasar serta proses kesadaran pada saat ini telah menjadi satu topik hangat bagi psikologi teoretis daneksperimen, neuropsikologi klinis dan eksperimen, neurosains, ilmu-ilmu kognitif serta filsafat.

Abstract

Psychology as a science emerged in Indonesia in the 1950s. The firstpsychological work in Indonesian history was conducted by the BalaiPsychotechnik (Psychotechnik Board), a board found by the Ministry of Education, Teaching and Culture at that time. The works of the Board included conducting psychological testing for students who were going to further education, as well as performing assessments in organizations to select their prospective employees. The Boardwas later developed into the Faculty of Psychology of The University of Indonesia, the oldest psychological institution in Indonesia. In 1959, the professional organization of psychologists was founded in Jakarta (Universitas Indonesia, 2004). The second oldest educational institution of psychology, which is the Faculty of Psychology of Gadjah Mada University, was developed from the former Facultyof Educational Science in the university in 1965 (Universitas Gadjah Mada, 2004). This history implies that psychology in Indonesia was born in the context of educational science.

Abstract

Tulisan ini mencoba untuk membahas pengaruh globalisasiterhadap penyebaran penyakit, khususnya polio, pengaruhnya terhadapkondisi sosial masyarakat dan penanggulangannya. Dalam makalah inipenulis memfokuskan telaah pada kasus wabah polio di Sukabumi. Berbagai konsep dikemukakan dalam tulisan, di antaranya adalah epidemiologi yang mulai dikembangkan dari kajian psikologi.
