Abstract

The objective of the study is to explore the impacts of human resource quality, province minimum wage, and unemployment rate toward labor productivity in Indonesia The study uses panel data that is combination of cross-section (33 provinces) and time-series data (2007-2010). In this study, panel data regression model is used and estimated by fixed effect model (FEM) and random effect model (REM). The result shows that human resource quality and unemployment rate have statistically significant effect on labor productivity in Indonesia, in which the former with positive sign and the later with negative. However, province minimum wage variable does not have significant effect on labor productivity.Key words: labor productivity, human resource quality, province minimum wage, unemployment rate, Indonesia

Abstract

This research is conducted to test whether there are perception gaps existing between client and auditor about the importance of each audit quality attributes, that influence toward the client satisfaction. The form of the gaps can be used as the inputs for audit firm’s service improvement, on its relation to the client satisfaction. The samples of this research are taken from the companies located in Central Java which use audit service provided by audit firm, and auditors working at the audit firms in Central Java. Two means paired test are used for testing the gaps existence. Based on the research, among 6 tested attributes, there are gaps on 2 attributes, they are the strong commitment on audit quality, and audit firm’s leader’s involvement.Keywords : audit quality attributes, perception gap.

Abstract

The low quality fo human resources is one of issues faced by almost all the regions in indonesia, including all regencies in sumba. Sumba is one of the islands in Province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and has 4 regencies, that is, Sumba Barat Daya, Sumba Barat, Sumba Tengah and Sumba Timur. These four rengencies in terms of human resources are relatively still left behind comparing to others regencies in Province of East Nusa Tenggara. One of the indicators used to assess the quality of human resources in one country or regency is the index of human development (IPM). The low-quality of human resources is one of the main issues and challenges in regional development in sumba. Moreover, the leakage of economic resource that flow to outside sumba and also the slow of economic transformation is also another issue faced by these 4 regencies in sumba.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether PBV and stock’s liquidity have influence toward firms to perform stock split and the effect of stock split towards market’s value. Stock’s liquidity is measured by Trading Volume Activity while market’s value is measured by Toin’s Q. This research uses financial performance (Earnings per Share) as a control variable. The methods used is purposive in which in this study obtained 31 splitting firms and 31 non splitting firms during period 2005-2009. The analysis tools used in this study are logistic regression and paired t-test. The result shows that trading volume has negative influence toward firms to perform stock split. Also, the result shows that there are differences in market’s value after and before they perform stock split based on Tobin’s q.Keywords : Stock Split, Price to Book Value, Trading Volume, Earning per Share and Tobin’s q.

Abstract

Pemberian otonomi kepada daerah pada dasarnya bertujuan meningkatkan daya guna dan hasil guna penyelenggaraan pemerintah daerah, terutama dalam pelaksanakan pembangunan dan pelayanan terhadap masyarakat serta untuk meningkatkan pembinaan kesatuan politik dan kesatuan bangsa. Dengan demikian otonomi daerah merupakan peluang sekaligus tantangan bagi pemerintah daerah. Peluang bagi pemerintahan daerah yang memiliki potensi sumber daya alam yang memadai untuk mengelola sendiri potensi tersebut, sedangkan bagi pemerintah daerah yang mempunyai sumber daya alam yang kurang memadai justru merupakan tantangan.

Abstract

This research studies about comparing the performance of syariah banks and conventional banks in Indonesia periods 2007-2010 using eight finansial ratios, i.e. CAR, APB, PPAP, The fulfillment of PPAP, ROA, ROE, NIM, and BOPO. Based on the sampling criteria, there are two sample groups i.e three conventional banks and three syariah banks. The analysis tool used to prove the hypothesis in the research is Mann Whitney U Test. The research result that the financial performance of syariah banks are measured by APB, Fulfillment of PPAP and BOPO have significant different with the financial performance of conventional banks, but there are no different in the financial performance when measured by CAR, PPAP, ROA, ROE, and NIM.Keywords : Financial performance, Conventional bank, Syariah Bank
