ABSTRACT Viruses are parasites or living things whose life depends on other living things, microscopic (invisible to the eye) that infect the cells of biological organisms. There are many diseases caused by viruses, one of which is Middle East Respiratory Syndrome-Corona Virus (MERS-CoV), which is a subtype of the corona virus that has never been found to infect humans before. This study aims to form a mathematical model that can describe how the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome-Corona Virus (MERS-CoV) spreads to help control measures. This research is a basic research using descriptive method, namely by analyzing the theories relevant to the problem. This research begins by forming a mathematical model of the spread of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome-Corona Virus (MERS-CoV) then looking for a fixed point and analyzing the stability of that fixed point and interpreting the analysis results obtained from the model. The model obtained is in the form of a system of differential equations consisting of three equations and has two fixed points. From the analysis, it is found that the factor that affects the spread of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome-Corona Virus (MERS-CoV) in a population is the level of transmission. The higher the level of transmission and the lower the cure rate for an infected individual, the more MERS-CoV spread will be. A low-purine diet is recommended for gout patients. The goal of this diet are to achieve and maintain normal nutritional status while also lowering uric acid levels in the blood. This study aims to manage the menu of a low-purine diet in order to minimize the deviations of energy, proteins, fats, and carbohydrates using the weighted goal programming method. The study was started by formulating the models and planning a diet menu using the weighted goal programming method. The results showed that the food portions of the low-purine diet menu planning using the weighted goal programming method could fulfill the target of the patient's total daily energy needs.

In Padang Pariaman there is PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia which focuses on breeding chicken eggs. Quality monitoring conducted by the company is still limited to recording the proportion of defective eggs originating from each region. However, the company has not carried out further quality control using statistical methods. This study aims to describe the state of the eggs and see whether the quality of the chicken eggs in the hatching process at the company is under statistical control on the Hotelling control chart. This research was conducted simultaneously which consisted of three correlated variables, namely thin eggs, cracked eggs, and broken eggs. The data obtained is then processed using the Hotelling control chart method. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that out of the 32 observations, 2 observation points were detected that were out of control (uncontrolled) from the upper limit (BKA) of the control chart. So it can be concluded that in July 2022 to June 2023 the process was not statistically controlled.

The Regional Water Supply Company of Padang Panjang is a water supply company located in the city of Padang Panjang. This company has production constraints on the amount of water that does not meet the demand for clean water by customers and the operational costs of maintaining water sources are higher during the dry season than the selling price of water to customers, which causes the company to suffer losses. The purpose of this study is to optimize the production of clean water and minimize losses at the Regional Water Supply Company of Padang Panjang. The method used in this study is Non-Preemptive Goal Programming. The results of this study found a decrease in losses at the Regional Water Supply Company of Padang Panjang, which previously amounted to IDR 174,566,828 to no longer experience losses.

In nonlinear unconstrained optimization problems, methods involving the gradient of a function are used, allowing the function’s value to increase or decrease at the fastest rate. One of the gradient-based methods is the Conjugate Gradient method, which has been extensively modified, with one of the well-known variants being the Fletcher-Reeves method. However, in many cases, the application of these methods doesn’t always achieve the correct descent direction, affecting the speed and convergence of the method, so that modifications arise due to these deficiencies. The purpose of this study is to examine the process of forming the formula of a modified Fletcher-Reeves method, develop the algorithm, and analyze the global convergence. The results of numerical simulation tests show that by selecting the appropriate value the modified Fletcher-Reeves method converges to the global minimum solution and can find it faster than the Fletcher-Reeves method.

Optimal Portofolio Formation can be done using various approaches, including the Mean Gini and Mean Variance methods. The purpose of this study is to compare the performance of theMean Gini and Mean Variance methods in the formation ofoptimal portfolios. This portfolio formation uses stock data onhealth companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The timeperiod used is 2021. Portfolio performance can be determinedby assessing the Sharpe Ratio. The results of the Sharpe Ratiocomparison of the Mean Gini method have superior performancebecause the value is greater, namely 0.61. while the MeanVariance Method has a smaller Sharpe Index value of-1.38.

Air transport is the first choice for people who travel long distances. Forecasting is important in the decision-making process, especially for air transportation which can provide information on the increase and decrease in passengers that fluctuate. To describe the fluctuation of a data that changes rapidly over time results in the variance of error changing over time, so the data is estimated to be heteroscedasticity. ARCH and GARCH methods are useful for modeling heteroscedasticity elements in data. The following research includes applied research, using data on the number of passengers arriving on airplanes in 2018 –2022. From the results of the study, the best model according to the lowest AIC value was obtained the GARCH model (1.2). The variance equation in the GARCH model (1,2) is . Then using the GARCH model (1.2), forecasting was carried out in 2018 – 2022, which was as many as 60 data. From the forecasting results obtained the number of passengers came the aircraft.

Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) model is a model for inventory management decision-making. The basic EOQ model is not entirely realistic, as it neglects several factors that impact inventory management decisions, leading to suboptimal outcomes. This study aims to form and analyze the inventory model from the development of EOQ model. Market competition, seasonal changes, promotional reach, and unexpected events can cause uncertainty. Fuzzy set theory is used to overcome this uncertainty, namely demand rate and deterioration rate are represented by fuzzy numbers. Trade credit and limited capacity of the company’s warehouse are also considered, so the rented warehouse is used. The fuzzy model is deffuzified by graded mean integration representation method. Results include a model for optimal order quantity, the optimal time for rented warehouse inventory depletion, and the minimum total cost. Numerical simulation and sensitivity analysis demonstrate the model’s applicability and highlight the impact of parameter changes.

A system of fuzzy linear equations is a linear equation with more than one number that is related to one another where the constants and variables are in the form of fuzzy numbers. To solve it, the system of fuzzy linear equations is changed to a system of non-fuzzy linear equations and the solution uses codeblock program software to get fast and accurate results. In solving the system of fuzzy linear equations in this study, the Crout decomposition method was applied and developed an algorithm to be applied to the C++ language. Crout's decomposition method is to decompose a matrix into a multiplication matrix ???????? where the matrix ???? (Lower) is the lower triangular matrix and the matrix ???? (Upper) is the upper triangular matrix whose main diagonal has a value of one. The results of the research are in the form of programs that can find solutions to systems of fuzzy linear equations that have fulfilled the complexity of the function.

One of the important topics in algebraic mathematics is determining the determinant value of a matrix. In this case, the determinant of an m x n matrix or rectangular matrix is also called the Radic determinant. The calculation of the determinant of a rectangular matrix requires lengthy analysis and calculations if searched manually it will take a long time. The purpose of this research is to obtain a determinant algorithm of m x n matrix which is then implemented into a program and will be executed with Java programming language. This research is basic that uses literature review as its foundation and uses theoretical analysis related to the problem of programming algorithms and determining the determinant value of the m x n matrix using the Java language. The result of this research is a Java program to determine the determinant value of m x n matrix with conditions m is less than or equal to n.
