Abstract

Single-use plastic packaging is widely used in FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) to pack products. The use of single-use plastic packaging has become a daily habit and triggers an increasement of theamount of plastic waste. Nowadays, a linear economy has been swift into a circular economy to savethe environment. One of the best solutions is by providing household cleaning product refill facilitiesin several areas. Also, this research wants to find the influence of household cleaning product refillfacilities in order to reduce single-use plastic packaging waste. The Theory of Planned Behavior(TPB) is used in this research to analyze and estimate people's behavior. The questionnaires werecollected from potential customers and consumers who will or have refilled their liquid body wash atthe filling facility, especially in DKI Jakarta region. Also, this research helps to identify the impact ofenvironmental consciousness, environmental knowledge, subjective norms, and green marketing onthe purchase intention to refill cleaning products at filling facilities. The data obtained were thentested using Spearman's correlation and multiple linear regression tests. The result of this researchshows that the purchase intention to refill cleaning products at filling facilities is influenced by eachvariable of the research. Therefore, innovative refill cleaning products at filling facilities can be asolution to reduce the increase in plastic waste.

Abstract

Fitness centers are the favorite place for most urban communities to do physical fitness training activities. However, among the millions who practice fitness in the gym, only certain people know how to exercise using gym equipment correctly. One alternative solution to overcome the problem is using a personal trainer application based on android. Android-based applications are used in this research because it is easier to use than the physical fitness guidebook and cheaper than hiring a personal trainer. This research recruits ten people to prove increased physical performance after using an android-based application by doing fitness training with and without an android-based application. The test will measure at two conditions. The first condition is that right after fitness training, the respondent will measure physical performance analysis using Nordic Body Map (NBM) Questionnaire and maximum oxygen volume. Second, twenty-four hours after fitness training, the respondent’s physical performance was measured again using NBM and Mc Gill Pain questionnaire to measure Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS). After fitness training activities with the android-based application, there is an increase in physical performance and reduced injury potential, which can be seen from a significantly reduced DOMS score from Mc Gill Pain questionnaire. However, NBM score and maximum oxygen volume result are insignificant.

Abstract

There were 47 work accidents at the studied manufacturing company from 2014 to 2016. Thehighest number of work accidents occurred in metalworking processes such as forging and casting, where as many as 22 work accidents, or 46.8% of the total number of work accidents, occurred. So itis necessary to identify the causes of work accidents and control the risk of operational workaccidents. Accidents that occur include being squeezed, bumped, run over, punctured, cut, scratched, hit by an explosion, involved in traffic accidents, and others. So this study aims to prevent these typesof accidents. This study applied hierarchical risk control methodology to provide risk control andreduce the Risk Priority Number (RPN) value for each work activity that has the highest number ofwork accidents. Recommendations that can be implemented are engineering control, administrativecontrol, and PPE control for melting, furan, disamatic, fettling/clearing, and finishing workstations. The results of the proposed risk control resulted in a decrease in the RPN at each workstation.

Abstract

Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) represent a significant occupational health issue, particularly in sectors involving frequent manual handling, which is a major contributor to MSDs risk. The high incidence of MSDs among warehouse workers underscores the critical need for thorough risk analysis in manual handling activities to enhance worker health and safety and reduce associated injuries. This study contributes to this effort by analyzing MSD risks specifically in the warehouse environment of PT DNL, employing two established assessment methods: The Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) and The Manual Handling Assessment Chart (MAC) Tool. By systematically observing manual handling tasks, data were collected and evaluated to determine the level of MSD risk faced by workers in these high-exertion activities. The REBA analysis revealed that workers’ postures, especially during tasks such as unloading from lower stacks and repositioning for distribution, carry a very high risk, with a total score of 11. Similarly, the MAC Tool assessment identified critical risk factors, with lifting operations scoring 17 (indicating four high-risk factors) and carrying operations scoring 15 (indicating two high-risk factors). These findings point to immediate intervention requirements, with recommendations such as using hydraulic lift tables and automatic pallets to reduce bending, alongside instituting guidelines to ensure packages are easy to handle, like incorporating box handles. This research provides a valuable framework for MSD risk reduction strategies in manual handling, contributing to improved occupational safety standards in warehouse operations.

Abstract

Harapan Mulya Putri is a manufacturing company established in 2010. This company produces equipment for cleaning or cleaning tools, hotel equipment, restaurant equipment, household equipment, and traffic signs. Problems encountered by Harapan Mulya Putri company that the number of stainless steel trash backorders will reach 28% in 3 months. This study aims to reduce the number of back orders in the production process of stainless steel trash bins. Reducing the number of back orders is done by designing a simulation model of stainless steel trash bin production. The method used is a dynamic system simulation. Three scenarios are used to maximize the fulfillment of consumer demand. The first scenario is a policy of adding raw materials suppliers send, such as 150 units of stainless steel plates. The simulation results for the first scenario resulted in a 75% decrease in back orders. The second scenario is ordering based on the bill of material grouping to optimize raw material utilization. The simulation results of the second scenario reduced back orders by 56.25%. The third policy scenario is combined with the first and second scenarios. The results of the third simulation show that back orders have decreased by 87.5%. Thus, the selected scenario is the third scenario.
