Abstract

This study aims to examine the mediating effects of emotional labor variables, namely emotive effort and dissonance resulting from deep and surface acting strategies, which are based on the relationship between emotional stability and affective commitment. 249 data were obtained from the hospitality industry in major cities in Indonesia and were analyzed using a mediation technique. The results showed that emotive effort mediated the relationship between emotional stability and affective commitment. Furthermore, it was also shown that emotive dissonance did not mediate the relationship between emotional stability and affective commitment.

Abstract

Campaigns on pro-environmental behavior are an important objective in social marketing due to the environmental problems caused by people's consumption. Therefore, social marketers need to understand the underlying factors that make people change their behavior. This research investigates the determinants of pro-environmental behavior from the perspective of goal framing theory with three overarching goals, namely hedonic, gain, and normative. The data were collected using a questionnaire survey method and analyzed by structural equation modeling. The results showed that gain and normative goals directly affect pro-environmental behavior instead of a hedonic goal. This research also showed that the biospheric value as one of the self-transcendence values moderates the effect of normative goal towards pro-environmental behavior, proposed in preliminary studies. The findings contribute to the existing research regarding pro-environmental behavior determinants and used by social marketing initiatives, especially in-store-communication, in designing the right message. Future studies need to investigate the role of hedonic and egoistic values in predicting pro-environmental behavior.

Abstract

Based on the recent evidence of the high rate of non-performing loans in Indonesia’s microfinance sector, there is a need to formulate a mechanism that could control such credit risk. This study attempts to identify the pivotal determinant factorsresponsible for performing loans. In particular, this research proposes demand-side factors, such as debtor-attributes information, as critical for ensuring installment payments. Using unique data from microfinance in Central Java, it employs logistic regression analysis to prove that debtors’ age and type of collateral significantly affect loan performance. This paper further shows that other variables, such as the payment period and the interest rate, also substantially affect credit risk. These findings have empirical and practical significance. For practical purposes, this research develops the new perspective that debtor-specific information, particularly on their behavioral aspects, requires more in-depth review. This insight may be useful for developing new credit-analyzing tools to alleviate severe non-performing loans. Empirically, this research improves the study of antecedent variables that influence performing loans.

Abstract

Existing literature on entrepreneurial ecosystems mostly ignores empirical research on the causal relationship between entrepreneurial ecosystems and their outputs. Therefore, this study examined the causal relationship of the entrepreneurial ecosystem on opportunity recognition, exploitation, and venture growth as its ecosystem outputs. This is quantitative research with the survey method. The study population is startup actors in Indonesia, consisting of owners, chief executive officers, and managers. The accidental sampling method with rigid screening questions was applied and questionnaires were distributed online through social media and messaging apps. The questionnaire was prepared using the Multi-dimensional Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Scale (MEES) to determine the ecosystem construct. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) techniques in the AMOS application. The result showed that the entrepreneurial ecosystem significantly affects opportunity recognition, exploitation, and venture growth. This fills the gap in this research and helps decision-makers in facilitating a better entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Abstract

The primary purpose of this research is to study the effect of emotional intelligence (EI) on the counterproductive work behavior (CWB) of employees in the pest control industry in Indonesia. Although the effect of EI on CWB can be analyzed using the Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT), this model is not specific to employees; for this reason, EI will be measured via the Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Scale (WLEIS). Questionnaires were distributed to 585 pest control employees. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The results indicate that EI has a statistically significant negative relationship with CWB and that the more emotionally intelligent employees are, the less likely they will be to act counterproductively at work. These findings can potentially reduce the level of CWB for organizations and society by enabling companies to assess the EI of workers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that influence users in using electronic money in transactions. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) is used as a research model with independent variables: performance expectations, facility conditions, social influence, expectations, perceived values, habits, beliefs, and hedonic motivation. The dependent variable in this study is actual use and interest to be used as a mediator variable. This research method uses an online survey method that is distributed using Google Surveys. This study's sample was 194 electronic money users spread across three major cities in Indonesia, such as DKI Jakarta, West Java, and Central Java. Primary data collected were analyzed using SmartPLS software. The study results explain that trust is a substantial factor in influencing the use of electronic money. Companies, in this case, must pay attention to system security factors to be able to attract millennials using electronic money.

Abstract

This study investigates how personal factors can influence entrepreneurship's interest in terms of cognitive variables with indicators of skills and knowledge, affective variables with indicators of attitude and value, and conative variables with indicators of behavior and experience. This study uses a quantitative strategy through a sample of 338 informants. The root of the problem is reviewed from the literature review and strengthened by data collection from the online interview process. Based on these results, personal factors through related variables and indicators can be used as a research agenda to answer corporate contributions problems that offer answers related to reasons for entrepreneurship. The implication is aimed as a strategy to foster student interest in entrepreneurship by showing a close relationship that is mutually supportive and relevant from contributing to each variable related to personal factors. This study also provides a scientific contribution in the form of knowledge about an entrepreneurial interest created from personal factors.

Abstract

The purpose of the present study was to analyze the role of servant leadership, organizational commitment, and tacit knowledge sharing in enhancing research performance. To this end, a survey of 400 randomly recruiting private university lecturers was conducted. The data were analyzed by using SEM covariant. The analysis result showed that leadership that tends to exhibit service and sacrifice towards its subordinate improved organizational commitment, particularly in the continuance and normative dimensions. Tacit knowledge sharing was found to promote the affective dimension of lecturers' corporate responsibility to research performance. Tacit knowledge sharing plays a mediating role between servant leadership and commitment organization and research performance. It was found to determine the research performance. The present study calls for knowledge management for tacit knowledge sharing to improve performance from a theoretical perspective. This can be done by focusing on tacit knowledge sharing about research, especially concerning research methodology and practical method development. From a practical standpoint, the study calls for extending and developing a structured tacit knowledge sharing supported by sharing culture among the lecturers.

Abstract

This research aims to add to the repertoire on the knowledge of perceived risk effect on the intention to use online meeting applications during the COVID-19 pandemic. Data were obtained from 186 respondents using the questionnaire instrument, which had been tested, for validity and reliability. The obtained data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Model. Based on the data testing, it was found that all hypotheses in this research were accepted. Therefore, the intention to use online meeting applications was most affected by perceived ease of use comparing to perceived risk. The results showed that developingcompanies increased perceived ease of use, hence the technology is easily accepted by consumers.

The study utilized primary data which is obtained through the questionnaire. The respondents were selected by convenience sampling method. The number of respondents is 384 determined by using Lemeshow formula. Data were analyzed by Path Analysis. The result show that culinary tourism has a positive and significant effect both on destination loyalty and tourist satisfaction. Tourist satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on destination loyalty. Culinary tourism is one of the effective tools to increase tourism. Tourist satisfaction will be achieved with components of culinary tourism. Tourist satisfaction even though insufficient category, it will be able to increase loyalty.
