Abstract

Jernang merupakan resin berwarna merah yang diperoleh dari hasil ekstraksi tanaman rotan. Tanaman rotan yang banyak diambil resin nya yaitu jenis dragon’s blood. Tanaman ini telah banyak dimanfaatkan secara turun -temurun dalam pengobatan tradisional. Resin jernang dpat dimanfaatkan sebagai obat (antibakteri, antikanker, antiviral, dan antiinflamasi). Selain itu resin jernang juga dapat digunakan sebagai pewarna. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui efektivitas antibakteri dari resin jernang jenis dragon’s blood. Penulisan review artikel ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode pencarian literatur dari berbagai sumber yang telah dipublikasi secara online melalui google scholar dan pubmed dengan kata kunci antibakteri resin jernang (Daemonorops draco). Pada pengujian antibakteri diperoleh bahwa resin jernang dapat menghambar pertumbuhan bakteri S. aureus, E. coli, V. cholera, S. Typhy dan S. mutan dengan menggunakan pelarut etanol, kloroform dan n-heksan. Konsentrasi yang digunakan dapat mempengaruhi zona hambat bakteri.

Abstract

Krim pemutih wajah merupakan produk yang mengandung bahan aktif untuk menghambat produksi melanin sehingga memberikan warna kulit yang lebih cerah. Hidrokuinon adalah senyawa golongan fenol yang sering disalahgunakan sebagai agent pemutih tambahan kosmetik dengan tujuan untuk menarik perhatian konsumen. Penggunaan Hidrokuinon dalam krim pemutih dilarang karena efek samping yang merugikan. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui berapa kadar Hidrokuinon pada krim pemutih herbal yang dijual secara online. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis kualitatif meliputi uji pendahuluan menggunakan pereaksi warna FeCl3 1% dilanjutkan analisis menggunakan Kromatografi Lapis Tipis (KLT) pada 5 sampel krim pemutih herbal yang dijual di Shopee, Tokopedia dan Lazada dan analisis kuantitatif menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Hasil analisis kualitatif diawali dengan uji pendahuluan menggunakan pereaksi FeCl3 1% dihasilkan sampel S3 dan S5 terjadi perubahan warna sesuai dengan baku pembanding Hidrokuinon yaitu berwarna kuning keoranyenan. Dilanjutkan analisis menggunakan Kromatografi Lapis Tipis (KLT) dengan fase gerak Etanol 96% : Asam Asetat Glasial (8:2) dan plat Silika Gel GF254 diperoleh nilai Rf dari kelima sampel secara berturut-turut yaitu 0,56; 0,53; 0,76; 0,61; dan 0,80 sedangkan nilai Rf baku pembanding Hidrokuinon yaitu 0,80, sehingga sampel dengan kode S3 dan S5 dinyatakan positif mengandung Hidrokuinon. Analisis kuantitatif menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-VIS pada sampel S3 dan S5 diperoleh kadar Hidrokuinon dalam sampel sebesar 0,095% pada S3 dan 0,038% pada S5. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dari kelima sampel, yang positif mengandung Hidrokuinon pada analisis kualitatif dan kuantitatif yaitu sampel dengan kode S3 dan S5.

Abstract

Epilepsy is one of the most important neurological diseases. Epilepsy is often associated with physical injury, mental injury, and severe psychosocial consequences for those affected. The study aims to determine the description of anti-epileptic drug prescribing for outpatients at Prof. Dr. Soerojo Magelang Mental Hospital in January-June 2022. The method used in this research was descriptive, and it took saturated samples in the form of prescriptions from patients who met the inclusion criteria with an age range of 18-40 years. The results of the study showed that the sufferers who received the most antiepileptic drugs were women aged 18-29 years. The average number of drug items per prescription sheet is 1.99 following WHO standards. The most commonly prescribed antiepileptic drug is a single carbamazepine (20.49%), followed by a combination of Carbamazepine with Divalproex Sodium (13.66%) and a combination of Carbamazepine, Clobazam and Divalproex Sodium (12.68%). In contrast, the most common dosage and rules for use of antiepileptic drugs are Clobazam 1mg tablet, dose once a day, 1 tablet (20.78%).

Abstract

One of the cardiovascular diseases is commonly known as hypertension, which is high blood pressure. It is recognized as a cause of death and is often referred to as the "silent killer." This is because hypertension frequently occurs without symptoms and is only detected after it has caused serious damage to the body. Many hypertension sufferers utilize traditional therapies, one of which is the use of celery plants (Apium graveolens L.). Utilization of celery planted could have been made into a syrup that used natural sweetener content, namely natural sweetener stevia left (Stevia rebaudiana). This research aims to determine the effect of storage time on the results of the stability test of celery leaf syrup preparations with stevia leaf sweetener using the cycled tested method which carried out as many as 6 cycles with temperatures of 4oC and 40oC each for 24 hours by testing parameters included organoleptic, pH, viscosity, clarity and homogeneity. This type of research uses experimental research. The results of the stability of celery leaf infusion syrup preparation (Apium graviolens L.) obtained by the organoleptic test were liquid, had a distinctive celery smell and were yellowish green in color. Celery syrup preparation is homogeneous and cleared during storage, the pH test stability results had an average value of 5.27 and a viscosity of 3.8 cP. The results of the stability tests for organoleptic properties, homogeneity, clarity, pH, and viscosity indicate that no significant differences were found between the cycles, meaning the syrup remains stable during storage

Abstract

Along with the development of science and lifestyle, causing people to prioritize processed foods that are not only filling but provide health benefits. Soy flour and moringa leaf powder can be processed because they have content that is used as a food source that is rich in protein, carbohydrates and fat. The purpose of this study was to determine the chemical and sensory characteristics of milk pie preparations made from soy flour and moringa leaf powder. This study used an observational method with a descriptive research design. This study used one formula with the main ingredients of soy flour as much as 100 grams and moringa leaf powder as much as 1,5 grams.. Pie making is done by making skin dough with soy flour as the main ingredient, olive oil as an emulsifier, powdered sugar as a flavor giver and pie filling using moringa leaf powder as a color giver, cornstarch as a thickener, powdered sugar as a flavor giver and low fat milk as a liquid ingredient, then baked at 170 ℃ for 25 minutes. The tests carried out include ash content test, moisture content test, qualitative test of protein content, carbohydrate content and fat content. The results showed that milk pies made from soy flour and moringa leaf powder had an ash content of 3,85 ± 0,42% and a moisture content of 7,17 ± 0,20%. The pies contain protein, carbohydrate and fat. The skin of the pie has a distinctive soybean smell, brownish color, sweet and savory taste and rough texture, while the contents of the pie have a distinctive smell of moringa leaves, green color, sweet taste and soft texture.
