Abstract

Musculoskeletal disorders (MSD’s) adalah keluhan pada bagian-bagian otot skeletal yang dirasakan oleh seseorang mulai dari keluhan sangat ringan sampai sangat sakit. Apabila otot menerima beban statis secara repetitif dan dalam waktu yang lama, akan dapat menyebabkan keluhan berupa kerusakan pada sendi, ligamen, dan tendon (Novianti & Tanjung, 2016). Musculoskeletal Disorder’S (MSD’s) merupakan penyakit akibat kerja yang paling banyak terjadi dan diperkirakan mencapai 60% dari semua penyakit akibat kerja. Kontribusi manusia sebagai sumber tenaga kerja manual masih dominan dalam dunia industri di Indonesia. Istilah yang digunakan untuk menggambarkan kegiatan tersebut adalah aktivitas Manual Material Handling (MMH). Aktivitas MMH dan postur kerja yang tidak baik dapat mengakibatkan keluhan sakit pada anggota tubuh pekerja. Cedera yang diakibatkan oleh aktivitas manual handling jarang sekali bersifat fatal, akan tetapi masih banyak kecelakaan kerja seperti terkilir, ketegangan otot terutama pada bagian punggung dan pinggang yang disebabkan karena pengaplikasian pekerjaan yang tidak benar atau pekerjaan dalam waktu yang lama dan berulang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui postur kerja dan aktivitas MMH pada pekerja berdasarkan metode Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) untuk peningkatan produktivitas kerja. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode literature review dengan mencari artikel melalui portal google scholar. Kata-kata kunci yang digunakan untuk pencarian yaitu “postur kerja, ergonomi, metode Rula, produktivitas”. Keluhan yang paling banyak dirasakan oleh pekerja yaitu pada punggung, leher, bahu, pergelangan tangan. Berdasarkan hail perhitungan RULA dapat disimpulkan bahwa semua aktivitas pekerja mendapatkan skor RULA diatas 3 artinya perlu dilakukan investigasi dan perubahan postur kerja segera. Aktivitas MMH memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap meningkatnya keluhan pada pekerja serta peningkatan produktivitas kerja. Saran pada penilitian ini bagi perusahaan yang melakukan aktivita MMH perlu melakukan pengukuran postur kerja dan perbaikan fasilitas kerja

Abstract

There is no doubt that waste in all ramifications disturbs the balance of nature. As a result of this, it will be of great importance to mankind if a way is devised to foretell how the effectiveness or otherwise of waste management can affect the lives of those living in an area. This work considers waste management in a holistic view and attempts to develop a model for the relationship between waste management/disposal method and its effect on the people living within a defined geographical location. Lagos which has a relatively high daily per capital domestic waste generation rate in Nigeria has not yet established a comprehensive waste management system. A municipal solid waste management is designed based on Nigerian situations at the end of which a model y=-0.6228x + 56.31 was obtained. This predicts that as waste disposal method becomes appropriate and adequate, the occurrence of different types of diseases decreases rapidly. This may be a very useful tool of waste management for the Government and an easier means of ensuring a healthier living environment for the masses.

Abstract

The geometric increase in a nation’s population vis- a- vis the increase in energy demand in order to power the various sectors of the economy is a source of concern to all citizens and sundry. This paper presents an overview on the alternative sources of power generation and its associated problems and prospects in Nigeria. It starts with historical review of development and demonstrates the reasons. It also goes further to explain the need for using coal, natural gas and hydro means for power generation. Following this, different sources of power generation approaches are compared in order to determine what source is best to consider and the possible energy harvesting means are reviewed. Furthermore, state of the art technology known as carbon capture system is developed and x- rayed. Finally, conclusions are drawn based on the reviewed documents cited in this paper and a research work is initiated.

Abstract

Perusahaan Umum Daerah Air Minum (PDAM) Kota Magelang merupakan salah satu unit usaha milik Pemerintah Daerah Kota Magelang yang bergerak dalam jasa mendistribusikan air bersih bagi masyarakat Kota Magelang . Dalam usahanya untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air bersih pelanggannya, PDAM menggunakan 5 mata air yang salah satunya adalah mata air kanoman di Sudimoro, Candimulyo, Kabupaten Magelang . Secara geografis letak mata air tersebut ketinggiannya berada dibawah kota Magelang, maka pendistribusian air bersih dari mata air kanoman kepada pelanggan menggunakan sistem pompa sentrifugal. Untuk menjamin fungsi pompa beroperasi secara optimal maka perlu kebijakan perawatan agar fungsi sistem tersedia. Metode Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Logic Tree Analysis (LTA) dan Maintenance Task digunakan untuk menganalisis komponen agar fungsi sistem dapat dijamin ketersediaannya. Berdasarkan analisis dapat diputuskan kebijakan breakdown maintenance dan tindakan perawatan dengan metode yang lain.

Abstract

The need for high quality product has necessitated the scientists to put in more effort to produce metal of high quality at lower price. This job considered the possibility of optimizing the product and brings out the product at cheaper price. Nigeria as a developing country needs metal for different purpose like construction of roads, houses, bridges, and other infrastructure. Defined parameters of optimum work of EAF-50 comparing with the basic variant expenditure by limit has reduced by 33% (from 41,1 to 28,2 Ruble\ton) Relative usage of electric energy by 51% (from 0,5463 to 0,2669 mw Hour/ton) Hour productivity rose by 74% (from 71,17 to 123,61 ton/hour).
