International Journal of Health Science and Technology published since July 2019 with ISSN Online: 2685-8673 by LPPM Universitas Aisyiyah Yogyakarta. IJHST Published third a year in January, July and November. Abstract

Education is still not answer the expectations of the people, they always questioned the relevance of education by a variety of community needs in the dynamics of economic, social, political, legal and cultural. A new paradigm of education changes to quality (quality oriented) is one of the strategies to achieve educational excellence in meeting the demands and needs of the community. Therefore necessary institutional strengthening capacity (Capacity Building) of the Madrasah. Community empowerment-based creative economy programme through the madrasah were necessary.  One of the selected empowerment utilizing waste products worth selling. On the other side of the creative economy approach is thew into madrasah quality improvement effort in answering the needs of the community in the era of economic globalization. This research aims to improve the quality of economic empowerment through creative schools that work together with the community. The subject of this research is MTs. N. 5 Kulon Progo, located in the village and brought in, (environmental mountain tourism Suroloyo), Ma'arif myocardial infarction and Pagerharjo village (pagerharjo village Government Center neighborhood is located), myocardial infarction and Ngargosari Ma'arif, community mothers dukuh Ngargosari Ngaliyan, Dukuh Trayu Community Ngargosari. The research method used was applying a Research and Development (RD), with regard to data collection Techniques: observation, indept interview. The strategy of training/mentoring in applying the model of "service learning", with the approach of andragogy. The data analysis used models, Miles and Huberman and Spradley. The results of this study indicate that the training provided to communities and schools to cultivate waste into creative stuff that has value has managed to provide the skills knowledge and abilities are new to them. The subject is able to make a variety of creative stuff from the trash so that gave rise to the idea for the creation of the trash bank as the flagship program in the schools to have better quality.

Abstract

The maternal mortality rate is 19,500 to 20,000 people every year or occurs every 26-27 minutes. The caus of maternal death is bleeding 30.5%, infection 22,5%, gestosis 17,5 and anesthesia 2%.  The infant mortality rate is around 10,000 to 280,000 per 18-20 minutes. The cause of infant mortality is due to Low Birth Weight (LBW) of 15/1000%.  The infant mortality rate in Indonesia is still the highest problem in other ASEAN countries. The infant mortality rate in Indonesia from 2008 was around 248 per 100,000 live births. Basic Health Research (RISKESDA) 2013 shows there are still 10,2% of babies with LBW, which is less than 2,500 grams. Neonatal death because LBW is basically affected by the nutritional status of pregnant women. This study aims to determine the relationship between the nutritional status of pregnant women and the  incidence  of  LBW. This  quantitative  research  uses  a  case  control  approach  using  a  retrospective approach. The population in this study were mothers who had given birth to babies during the last two years (2016-2017). The sampling technique uses total sampling for control cases by using a ratio of 1: 1 for the case group of 40: 40 samples. Analysis using Chi Square with p value 0,000 (OR=3,500, CI 95%=2,313-5,296). There is a relationship between nutritional status of pregnant women and the incidence of LBW. Health Technology Assessment (HTA) which can seek 1000 first day of life can be a breakthrough in assessing and providing interventions of nutrition in families, especially in pregnant women.

Abstract

Indonesia has 20,000 types of plants where 300 species have been used as traditional medicines. The use of traditional medicine as an alternative treatment in Indonesia that has been used by both rural and urban communities. The use of traditional medicine is considered safer than modern medicine. The purpose of this study was to identify the level of use of traditional medicine and public awareness in the use of traditional medicine in work area of  Health Center Gombong 1 which consists of 5 villages. This research is a non-experimental and descriptive research that uses a questionnaire. Respondents who participated in this study were 140 people. The characteristics of respondents who participated in this study were the majority of men (50,71%), last educated of elementary school (41,43%), as housewives (27,86%). The majority of people in work area of Health Center Gombong choose treatment with modern medicine (64,29%). In addition there are 35,71% using traditional medicine and the majority use rhizome species (46%) for the treatment of minor ailments. In this study also showed that the majority of people do not know the safety of traditional medicines (50%) due to lack of information so that information is needed on the benefits and safety and the use of good and appropriate traditional medicines.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer suffered by women in the world after breast cancer. In developed countries, the incidence of cervical cancer is around 4% of all cancer incidence in women, while in developing countries it reaches above 15% (Emilia, 2010). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of cervical cancer counseling on the attitude of WUS to early detection (IVA) in Padokan Lor Hamlet, Tirtonirmolo Village. The type of research used is pre-experiment with the design of "one group pretest-posttest". Sampling using purposive sampling technique, the number of samples was 45 respondents. Bivariate analysis was carried out using the WoCoxon test statistical test. The results of Wilcoxon test obtained the value (p = 0,000) less than 0,05. Conclusion, there is an influence of cervical cancer counseling on the attitude of WUS to early detection (IVA) in Padokan Lor Village, Tirtnirmolo Village, 2015.

Abstract

Weight is one of the health indicators on new born babies. New born babies have issuesbecause they are in the transition phase from intrauterine to extra uterine. The provision of information through audiovisual media will be more practical and flexible for the community in improving knowledge. The health counseling media are one of the components of learning process. Video is one of the media which presents information or message in an audiovisual manner. The aim of the research wasto identify the impact of KMC video as a counseling media on the improvement of mothers’ knowledge regarding baby management with Low Birth Weight. Method: This research applied experimental method with quasi experiment design through time series. The research samples were 36 pregnant mothers who lived in facilitated area of Punggur Kecil in Sui Kakap District of Kubu Raya Regency through Purposive Sampling as the sample determination technique. The data analyses employed paired t-test and one sample t-test. There was an improvement from the previous value before and after the counseling with 67,5% (p0,05) of rate. The KMC video as the counseling media hada significant impact (p0,05) towards the improvement of knowledge. The application of KMC video as the counseling media had impact on the improvement of mothers’ knowledge regarding baby management with Low Birth Weight.
