Abstract

The results of the study of the patient safety management team in Indonesia for health services revealed that the provision of informed consent in various healthcare institutions needs to be optimal. Most health workers only ask patients and families to sign informed consent without providing a detailed explanation. This condition certainly affects the knowledge of patients and families. Knowledge of patients and families can cause problems if desirable things happen. This study aimed to describe the application of informed consent in family planning services at Anisa Yogyakarta Independent Midwife Practice (PMB). This study used descriptive qualitative methods. The sampling technique using snowball sampling technique amounted to 4 midwife informants and four acceptor informants. The results of in-depth interviews conducted with four midwife informants said that the implementation of informed consent in family planning services at the Independent Midwife Practice (PMB) had gone well. The midwife had carried out the obligation to ask for consent and provide information while for the completeness of filling out informed consent, 14 informed consent filled in, as many as eight informed consent and six incomplete informed consent and from in-depth interviews, the acceptor was able to explain the contents of the informed consent. Acceptor informants said they signed the action consent sheet after the midwife explained about family planning (KB) that acceptors would use. The informed consent application in family planning services at the Independent Midwife Practice (PMB) has generally been done well. Still, the completeness of filling out informed consent has yet to be maximized, and acceptors generally understand informed consent in family planning services.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women worldwide, with an estimated 528,000 cases and 260,000 deaths yearly (Kagabu et al., 2020). The incidence of cervical cancer in Indonesia in 2018 was 23.4 per 100,000, with an average death rate of 13.9 per 100,000 (Profil RI, 2020). This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of VIA and Pup Smear examinations. The research method uses literature, which involves reviewing and critically evaluating existing literature sources. Review of journals in this study by searching for journals in the database (Google Scholar and PubMed). The results of the study state that the sensitivity value of Pap smear is 97.14%. This shows that it is higher than the sensitivity of VIA examination, and the specificity value of VIA is higher at 94.5% compared to the specificity value of VIA. Of the two methods, Pap Smear Visual Inspection screening is more effective than VIA. This study concludes that the Pap Smear Visual Inspection screening method is more effective than the IVA method. The sensitivity and discipline for detecting high-grade scrotal intraepithelial lesions (HSIL) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) are higher than a pap smear.

Abstract

Mental health disorders adversely affect their general health and quality of life (Wang et al., 2020). In Indonesia, the prevalence in 2018 was 6.1%, and mental-emotional disorders were 9.8% (Kemenkes RI, 2019). A systematic review reported that in many studies, it is stated that the family has a protective role against mental health disorders or behaviors that affect mental health in general (Wlodarczyk et al., 2017). Studies specifically evaluating the effect of family functioning on mental health in the presence of symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress are limited. This study used a cross-sectional study design, evaluating the relationship between family functioning and mental health at one time. This study outputs data from Field Lab activities in the Public Health and Family Medicine Block and Life Skills Block in two different batches in 2020 and 2021 at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. A total of 1475 research subjects voluntarily participated in this study. In this study, multivariate analysis of statistically consistent variables highly significant on depression, anxiety, and stress is APGAR Family, with p values of 0.000, 0.000, and 0.001, respectively. The second statistically consistent variable is a significant - highly significant effect on the level of depression, anxiety, and stress with p values of 0.001, 0.015, and 0.001, respectively. A dysfunctional family and unmarriedness are consistent risk factors for depression, anxiety, and stress disorders.

Abstract

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a new type of coronavirus, SARSCoV-2. Zinc deficiency appears as a potential risk factor in COVID-19 patients. It is known that zinc acts as a facilitator of the body's immune competence. Zinc is also involved in host cell cytokine storms as an immune response to attack pathogens and as a marker of severity in COVID-19. This study aimed to see the effect of giving zinc as antiviral immunity in managing COVID-19 patients. This research method uses a literature review design based on search results for scientific articles in the PubMed, Science Direct, and Proquest databases. Twenty-five articles from Science Direct and 37 from Proquest were analyzed, and eight met the inclusion criteria. It can be concluded that zinc supplementation can be given as adjuvant therapy and works synergistically with the administration of Hydroxychloroquine to reduce disease severity and reduce mortality in COVID-19 patients, especially in hospitalized patients, and is clinically feasible and safe in treatment and prevention. Abstract

One of the objectives of the Health Education (midwifery) curriculum is to make midwives professionals in the early detection of maternal and neonatal emergencies. Compulsory courses that teach early detection are obstetric care for childbirth and newborns, namely early detection using a partograph. The results of preliminary studies in midwifery 3rd-semester students can be six (60%) filling in the partograph incorrectly and incompletely and four (40%) filling in the partograph correctly and completely. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of applying partograph pocketbooks by students to fill out partographs. The research design used in the study was pre-experimental with the one-group pretest-posttest design approach. Partograph filling dependent variable and independent variable: partograph pocketbook. Has passed the ethical test with certificate number 1576/KEPK/STIKES-NHM/EC/1/20203. The statistical test used paired T-test with α 0.05. The results of the study of filling in the partograph of midwifery students before using the partograph pocketbook had a value of almost half 62-71, while the results of filling in the partograph of midwifery students after using the partograph pocketbook were mostly 82-91, statistical tests showed 0.00< 0.05 which means that the partograph pocket book effectively helps students in filling out the partograph. This research can be a source of knowledge for students to improve their skills in filling partographs.

Abstract

Geometric verification is mandatory before radiotherapy treatment by comparing the image suitability results from the Computer Radiography (CR) imaging portal with the planned reference image at the TPS (Treatment Planning System). EPID is an advanced technology that has yet to be applied to all radiotherapy departments in Indonesia because it is commercial, so CR is an alternative to geometric verification. The purpose of analyzing the effectiveness of using the Denoising Technique with Trivariate Shrinkage CR compared to EPID in improving image quality and anatomical information on geometric radiotherapy verification. Research Method experimental quasy or pseudo experiment with pretest and posttest design of one group with control design. The respondents were all patients who underwent CR and EPID examinations. Determination of respondents using consecutive sampling so that the number of samples obtained was 16 samples. Denoising was performed using the Matlab Program with Trivariate Shrinkage on CR and compared to EPID. There are differences in anatomical information of geometric verification of radiotherapy carried out before and after denoising using Trivariate Shrinkage, as seen from all variables obtained p-value <0.05. There is no difference in anatomical information of geometric verification of radiotherapy denoising using Trivariate Shrinkage on CR compared to EPID, as seen from the variable obtained p-value >0.05. In conclusion, the Trivariate Shrinkage Computer Radiography (CR) technique effectively improves image quality and anatomical information in the geometric verification of radiotherapy. The Trivariate Shrinkage Computer Radiography (CR) technique can produce optimal images and provide good anatomical information comparable to EPID.

Abstract

Good maternal knowledge will affect how mothers care for their children’s health, nutrition and monitor their child's growth and development. One of the strategies carried out is to bring toddlers to Posyandu. The regularity of mothers visiting Posyandu will be very useful in monitoring the early detection of toddlers' growth, development, and health status so that mothers know the abnormalities of their children. This study aims to find out how mothers' knowledge about toddler growth and development with the compliance of mothers visiting Posyandu. This study used a correlational quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. With the Saturated Sample Technique, the entire research sample was used as research respondents, as many as 30. The instrument used is a questionnaire. Primary data collection from questionnaires and secondary data was based on mothers' MCH/KMS books and Posyandu records. Data analysis using Chi-Square statistical test. The study results obtained an alternative value of the Chi-Square test, namely Fisher's Exact Test, with a p-value= 1,000, which means there is no correlation between the two variables. The mother's level of knowledge about toddler growth and development has nothing to do with the mother's obedience or disobedience to visit the posyandu regularly every month.
