Abstract

PT Sumber Inti Pangan is a spice and seasoning manufacturing industry that has continued to grow until now. The company's three-year trend of rising sales provides evidence of this growth. Since 2017, there has been an average growth in the consumption of spices and seasonings, according to rising sales trends and data on public consumption. The increase in average consumption and market opportunities trigger competition between companies. Companies must prepare, create, and obtain new sustainable products to compete. Managerial innovation has the potential to innovate products. In this study, SWOT analysis is used to propose long-term strategies that can help companies maximize strengths and opportunities and minimize weaknesses and threats. Managerial innovation analysis with the Fuzzy AHP method is used to analyze internal factors in the form of company strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, SWOT weaknesses that are still too broad, not detailed, and cannot prioritize the identified factors can be covered. On the other hand, PEST and Porter's Five Forces are used to analyze external factors in the form of opportunities and threats to the company. The results showed that the company's innovation rate was 52.262%. The company had innovated in the planning, leading, and controlling functions but could not innovate in the organizing and coordinating processes. Several strategies the company can utilize are conducting regular evaluations to get more innovative substitute products, adding organizational groupings based on customer base, and making annual plans.

Abstract

In determining an inventory's quantity, some factors need to be considered. The factors to be considered in the pharmaceutical industry are the fluctuating demand factor (diseases are unpredictable) and the perishable factors. The purpose of this paper is to propose a probabilistic inventory model by considering perishable and return of goods. Compared to the previous models, the developed model has lower inventory costs when compared to the model not considering the return of goods and higher inventory costs when compared to the model that considers deterministic demand patterns. The sensitivity analysis was done to see the behavior of the total cost, component costs, and time to order. The parameters to be changed for the sensitivity test were a fraction of good condition goods, holding costs per unit per period, and ordering cost per unit per period. The analysis showed that total cost, based on joint order, is sensitive to the fraction of good condition products. In general, the model was perceived as able to describe the behavior of the model components.

Abstract

Manual material handling (MMH) activity is considered a major ergonomic risk factor in Indonesian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) that leads to the onset or development of musculoskeletal pain, particularly in the low back. It may exaggerate the risk of injury or disorders. This study evaluates the recommended weight limit (RWL) at UD Fatikh Sport, a SMES sports shoe manufacturer. In addition, we also propose a facility layout redesign to reduce the ergonomic risks of manual material handling activities. The NIOSH lifting equation was used to determine the RWL at four departments and during MMH activities. The Lifting Index (LI) of the MMH activity exceeded the recommended value, which might raise the ergonomic risks. The risks worsened because the operator carried the load manually to several departments, which were located separately on the second floor, without any aid tools. Two designs of facility layout improvement were developed using a systematic layout planning (SLP) approach. The first design was focused on minimizing the transportation distance, while the space requirement of each department or MMH activities was emphasized in the second design. It aims to improve working conditions and reduce workers' fatigue. Further research should calculate the productivity and estimate its cost-efficiency before and after implementing the proposed layout.

Abstract

This Threats to information resources require information security management policies in every agency. The Information Security Index (KAMI Index) is one of the methods developed by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, used to evaluate the maturity level, completeness of ISO/IEC 27001:2013 implementation and information security readyness. As a national zakat institution, XYZ Organization has utilized information technology in several systems, including the budgeting system. However, the information security index has never been measured. This condition may result in the risk of threats to information security, so it is necessary to measure. The Budgeting System needs to be measured using KAMI Index 4.1. The assessment criteria are carried out on seven categories to know how the quality of the information security policy is. The results of this assessment, XYZ organization gets an electronic system score is 17, governance 75, risk management 30, framework 31, asset management 37, ICT 38, securing third party involvement 40%, service security 20%, personal data protection 27% so the total score of 5 categories is 211 or at level I+ to II. This organization has started implement the framework at early stage and has not met the initial requirements for ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification.

Abstract

In order to protect residents living around the airport from aircraft noise disturbance, regulations have been set for the maximum permissible noise level limit. One of the international regulations that regulate the limits of aircraft exterior noise levels is the Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) part 36 of the United States Regulatory Agency, or the Civil Aviation Safety Regulation (CASR) part 36 of the national regulatory agency. In addition, for military purposes, observer planes are also needed with the lowest possible sound level such that they will not attract the enemy's attention. This paper contains the concept of active exterior sound control/elimination with an unconventional secondary source method (anti-noise), using the multipole secondary source method. Multipole secondary sources are developed based on Taylor series expansion to obtain higher order secondary sources, such as dipoles, quadrupoles, octopoles, and so on, which are used for noise canceling. A significant noise reduction can be obtained by using a high-order secondary source and by optimizing the power of the secondary source. Numerical simulation of noise reduction in the free field was carried out by this method. The simulation results show that noise reduction reaches 50 dB at 200 Hz. The method, which is still a concept, was then used to simulate noise reduction on a Cessna-150 aircraft.
