Abstract

Food service industry needs to observe and adopt existing and new environmental practices that are beneficial for the environment preservation and the conservation of natural resources on which they hugely depend to operate. With this, the purpose of this thesis is to assess the responsiveness of food service establishments specifically the local eateries or cafeterias in Nabua, Camarines Sur towards their environmental responsibilities. The study covers the demographic profile of the respondents and the business profile, the rate of environmental practices being observed by the establishments along: energy efficiency and conservation, water efficiency and conservation, recycling and composting, pollution prevention, and food packaging. These were the problems being encountered in observing these practices and the recommendations which are formulated based from the findings. At this moment in time, the food service industry has tended to be slower to adopt environmental practices than other segments of the hospitality industry, however are currently following suit and are adopting practices that are beneficial for the environment and reduce the negative impacts. To collect data and information, descriptive method was used and survey and informal interview were conducted. The respondents are the business owners and employees of eighteen selected food service establishments. The result showed that these establishments are highly observing environmental practices on the areas of pollution prevention, recycling and composting in observance with the existing ordinances. However, some of the practices in energy efficiency and conservation, water efficiency and conservation, and food packaging still has to be recognized and improved. Also, it was revealed that financial capacity is a big factor in observing such environmental practices. Nevertheless, with more information education campaign programs and activities implemented by the municipality and other concerned government agencies, food service operators will further deepen their understanding and intensify commitment to environmental initiatives within business.

Abstract

Coronavirus is intensely changing various aspects of life, including in business. The pandemic has altered a variety of customer behaviours. The ability of companies to understand these behaviour changes affects business continuity. This study explains the relationship between customer relationship management (CRM) and e-commerce and its trends during the pandemic. This research is descriptive qualitative research using secondary data. This study found that CRM and e-commerce issues grew rapidly during the pandemic. These results show that customer awareness of e-commerce is increasing to make transactions of their needs. Simultaneously, this customer behaviour is anticipated by business people by improving CRM as an effort to manage customer satisfaction. Some results in different countries are not always the same response between CRM and e-commerce.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship becomes an integral program for planning the progress of a country. The development of this program then becomes the responsibility of all parties, educational institutions, the government and the public. Educational institutions today, almost in all disciplines, seem to consider entrepreneurship as one of the learning programs. Vocational high school is one of the formal educational institutions designed to develop this program for its students. Various entrepreneurial models are tried to be developed to encourage further students' interest in developing entrepreneurship programs. Therefore, this study examines the partnership model in entrepreneurship development at Muhammadiyah vocational schools in Palembang, Indonesia. The study sample was 258 students from all Muhammadiyah vocational schools. The required data is primary, with a questionnaire as a data collection tool. The analyses used were factor analysis and regression. The results of the factor analysis extracted from all the indicators used gave rise to three variables that influence the decisions of entrepreneurial students, namely motivation, learning and perception. As for regression testing, only motivation and knowledge significantly affect entrepreneurial decisions, while perception has a significant effect.

Abstract

The expenditure and revenue trajectories which diverge sharply, as well as the increasing demand for better public service in the late 1970s around Western Europe and Northern America, necessitate the introduction of various principles coined as New Public Management (NPM) to reform the longstanding traditional public administration designed along Wilson's politics-administration dichotomy and Weber's ideal model of bureaucracy. With little or no doubt about its effects on the process of public service delivery in advanced nations, much has not been written on the impact on public service delivery in Nigeria and other developing countries amidst challenges impending in the post-pandemic public service delivery in Nigeria. This study evaluates the option of full implementation of new public management for post-pandemic public service delivery in Nigeria. Drawing on theoretical and empirical research, it explores the potential for service quality and cost recovery of public service, decentralization of decision making in public bureaucracies, and whether the process of public service delivery will be enhanced through performance measurement all within the regime of New Public Management. In exploring these issues, this paper sheds light on the potential of New Public Management to stabilize and improve public service delivery in the post-pandemic era of Nigeria.

Abstract

MNREGA is one of the flagship programmes initiated by the government of India to enhance the livelihood of the rural poor by providing extensive employment opportunities. The Indian State of Assam comprises 3.63 crores of the population, of which approximately 86 per cent of the population lives in rural areas. The majority of them reside in the BPL category. The unemployment rate is also at its peak. Hence there is a question mark about the safety and security of these people. This Scheme will give a new direction to live a secure social life. The overall labour budget has to be reduced this year, yet innovative and extensive use of these funds will ensure the rural life of the people. This programme will bring a holistic change to the economy by providing supportive initiatives toward self-reliance, women empowerment, and poverty elevation.
