Abstract

Foreign Direct Investment, or FDI, plays a significant role in Indonesia’s economic growth, especially in highly strategic sectors that rely on natural resources. The purpose of this study is to examine how foreign direct investment (FDI) influences the management of the resource economy in Indonesia. The method used is qualitative, using literature studies and analyzing policy reports, scientific journals, and official data from government agencies and international organizations. Research shows that foreign investment drives economic growth and infrastructure development. But foreign investment also raises many problems, such as environmental exploitation. Strong regulation, policy transparency, and the capacity of regulatory institutions are essential for the successful management of FDI. Consequently, to deal with global investment flows, a fair, sustainable, and national interest-oriented governance approach is needed.

Abstract

Writing is a language skill that needs to be taught seriously because it is related to creative thinking. However, it is inversely proportional to the current reality where learning to write is very less attractive to elementary school students, because it is still the application of a one-way learning model that makes students passive. Currently SDN Luworo 01 and SDN Luworo 03 Pilangkenceng have implemented learning innovations with the SAVI learning model. The purpose of this study is to determine the perceptions of students on the SAVI learning model and how it impacts students. This research is descriptive qualitative, using a survey approach. The research subjects were teachers and phase c learners of class V. Methods for collecting data include documentation, questionnaires, interviews, and observation. Participants totaled 40 people consisting of 2 teachers and 38 students. Data analysis was carried out interactively through the stages of: (a) Collecting data; (b) Data assessment; (c) Interpreting data; (d) Making data conclusions. The results showed that most of the fifth grade students gave positive responses/perceptions to the SAVI learning model and were considered interesting and able to improve students' writing skills. During learning, teachers are also considered capable and have sufficient insight when applying the SAVI learning model in class.

Abstract

Miscopception wrong concepts in science learning is a major challenge for elementary school (SD) students, which can hinder the learning process and form a less scientific mindset. This article discusses the influence of Problem Based Learning and Inquiry Learning models on understanding science concepts, as well as the role of critical thinking skills in supporting this understanding. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a 2x2 factorial design. The results of the research show that there are significant differences in understanding concepts between students taught with Problem Based Learning and Inquiry Learning. The average conceptual understanding score for students taught with Problem Based Learning is 72.07, while for students taught with Inquiry Learning it is 69.65. In addition, students with high critical thinking skills have an average conceptual understanding score of 81.15, while students with low critical thinking skills have an average score of 60.5. The research results also show that there is an interaction between the learning model and critical thinking skills on students' understanding of concepts. Problem Based Learning has proven to be more effective in increasing understanding of concepts, especially for students with high critical thinking skills. In conclusion, the learning model has a significant effect on understanding science concepts, with Problem Based Learning being a more effective strategy than Inquiry Learning. Apart from that, critical thinking skills play an important role in increasing understanding of science concepts in elementary schools.

Abstract

The agricultural sector is a key sector in a number of developing countries including Indonesia. The sector has a role in providing food and raw materials for other economic sectors, which can then encourage industrialization. However, the contribution of agriculture in Indonesia has also experienced a significant decline. So this research aims to find out what factors affect the contribution of agriculture to the National GDP with OLS regression, specifically assessing the extent of the role of bank credit in the agricultural sector. It also analyzes each periodization of the Indonesian presidential government. The results of the study show that labor and industry contribution to national GDP have greater elasticity compared to other variables. This also reflects that the economic transformation has an impact on the agricultural sector in Indonesia.

Abstract

Financial inclusion is a crucial pillar in promoting sustainable economic development, particularly in rural areas and small-scale communities. In Indonesia, microfinance institutions (MFIs) play a strategic role in expanding access to financial services to groups underserved by formal banking institutions. This study aims to assess the impact of Sharia-based and conventional MFIs on increasing financial inclusion and the economic development of farmers and small businesses in East Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. The study employed a quantitative approach, collecting data through a survey of 120 respondents who were active MFI customers. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression to measure the relationship between MFI service intensity and indicators of financial inclusion and local economic growth. The results indicate that both Sharia-based and conventional MFIs significantly influence financial inclusion. However, Sharia-based MFIs tend to contribute more to the development of sustainable financial behavior, while conventional MFIs show a direct impact on increasing business income. These findings underscore the importance of strengthening the role of MFIs in local economic development policies, particularly in promoting the welfare of farmers and MSMEs in rural areas.

Abstract

Character education is an urgent need in the midst of the moral challenges faced by today’s younger generation. The Maitreya Buddhist Sunday School (SMB) in Batam, as a non-formal educational institution, aims to instill noble values from an early age, especially among junior and senior high school students. This research focuses on three main questions: how teachers act as role models, character builders, and motivators in cultivating the values of appreciating achievement and social care based on the Dasa Paramita; which Dasa Paramita values are most relevant and dominant in shaping these character traits; and how the teachers’ role impacts students’ behavior and habits in the SMB Maitreya Batam environment. A qualitative approach with a case study design was used. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions with teachers, students, parents, and school administrators. Thematic analysis was applied through coding, categorization, and interpretation to gain a deep understanding of the teachers’ role and the implementation of Dasa Paramita values in learning and character building. The results show that teachers at SMB Maitreya Batam play a key role as role models, character builders, and motivators in instilling Dasa Paramita values, especially the character of appreciating achievement and social care. The most dominant values for appreciating achievement are effort (vīriya), wisdom (paññā), and determination (adhiṭṭhāna), while for social care they are generosity (dāna), morality (sīla), and loving-kindness (mettā), supported by integrative values such as patience (khanti) and skillful means (upāya). These values not only strengthen academic achievement but also build balanced social character, making students more open, disciplined, empathetic, and caring toward their environment. The findings confirm the relevance of the Dasa Paramita as an effective moral foundation for character education in a non-formal Buddhist setting.

Abstract

The economy of Riau Province experienced a slowdown in the third quarter of 2024 due to the decline in foreign exports and government consumption, which was influenced by the economic downturn of major trading partner countries. The study aims to analyze the factors that influence economic growth, inflation, and financial stability in Riau. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive analysis with a secondary data approach from regional economic and financial reports. The data was analyzed using a comparison of economic growth between periods and an evaluation of macroeconomic indicator trends. The research found that the economic slowdown was triggered by the decline in export demand for CPO and other plantation products, as well as the low realization of government spending. Inflation decreased in line with the national trend, mainly due to the stabilization of food and transportation prices. Meanwhile, the banking sector remained stable with an increase in lending and growth in third-party funds (DPK). The study concluded that export diversification strategies and optimization of regional spending need to be strengthened to maintain sustainable economic growth. Theoretical implications confirm the influence of fiscal policy on economic growth, while practically, policy recommendations are provided to maintain inflation and regional financial stability. The uniqueness of this research lies in the integrated analysis between external and domestic factors in influencing Riau's economy.
