Inkunabula: Journal of Library Science and Islamic Information adalah jurnal ilmiah yang diterbitkan oleh Jurusan Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi Islam, Universitas Islam Negeri Datokarama Palu pada tahun 2022. Jurnal ini diperuntukkan bagi dosen, pustakawan, ilmuwan informasi, spesialis informasi, pengelola informasi, peneliti, dan mahasiswa dalam mempublikasikan hasil penelitiannya, baik dalam bahasa indonesia maupun bahasa inggris. Abstract

This study aims to analyze research topic trends related to digital archives using a bibliometric approach. The method employed is bibliometric analysis, with data sourced from the Dimensions database using the keyword "digital archives" for the period 2020–2024, resulting in a total of 428 documents. These documents were analyzed by combining the use of VOSviewer and RStudio software. The analysis results show that research on digital archives has experienced dynamic growth, marked by thematic diversification that includes digitalization, cultural preservation, and connections with social media. Temporally, there is a noticeable shift in research focus from conventional issues to more participatory and technology-based approaches. Scientific literature is also concentrated in a small number of core journals, while author contributions are predominantly limited to single publications. These findings underscore the importance of strengthening scholarly collaboration and developing publication strategies to support the maturation of digital archives as an emerging academic discipline. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tren topik penelitian terkait arsip digital melalui pendekatan bibliometrik. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis bibliometrik dengan sumber data berasal dari database Dimensions, menggunakan kata kunci “arsip digital” untuk periode 2020–2024, dan menghasilkan sebanyak 428 dokumen. Dokumen tersebut dianalisis dengan mengombinasikan perangkat lunak VOSviewer dan RStudio. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penelitian mengenai arsip digital mengalami pertumbuhan yang dinamis, ditandai oleh diversifikasi tema yang mencakup digitalisasi, pelestarian budaya, serta keterkaitan dengan media sosial. Dari sisi temporal, terlihat pergeseran fokus riset dari isu-isu konvensional ke pendekatan partisipatif dan berbasis teknologi. Literatur ilmiah juga terkonsentrasi pada sejumlah kecil jurnal inti, sedangkan kontribusi penulis didominasi oleh publikasi tunggal. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya penguatan kolaborasi ilmiah dan pengembangan strategi publikasi untuk mendukung kematangan bidang arsip digital sebagai disiplin yang berkembang.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of a local wisdom-based literacy program at the Community Reading Center (Taman Bacaan Masyarakat/TBM) Rumah Peradaban SNC Fannaz and its contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities). This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with managers, volunteers, and beneficiaries, participatory observation of literacy activities, and documentation studies of the TBM program. Data were analyzed interactively through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through triangulation and member checking. The findings reveal that the literacy program at TBM Rumah Peradaban SNC Fannaz integrates Mandailing and Melayu Deli local wisdom through activities such as reading and storytelling of folklore, intergenerational literacy, the use of local languages, and the involvement of young volunteers as facilitators of cultural literacy. This approach has been proven to enhance reading interest, strengthen participants’ cultural identity, broaden access to inclusive non-formal education, and promote community social cohesion. However, the study also identified several challenges, including limited collections of local cultural materials, managerial capacity that has not been systematically documented, funding constraints, and the still suboptimal integration of digital literacy based on local content. Overall, this study confirms that local wisdom-based literacy in TBM has the potential to become a contextual, inclusive, and sustainable model of non-formal education, while also making a tangible contribution to the achievement of the SDGs at the community level. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for TBM managers, local governments, and policymakers in developing culture-based literacy programs oriented toward sustainable development. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi program literasi berbasis kearifan lokal di Taman Bacaan Masyarakat (TBM) Rumah Peradaban SNC Fannaz serta kontribusinya terhadap pencapaian Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (Sustainable Development Goals/SDGs), khususnya SDG 4 (Pendidikan Berkualitas), SDG 10 (Pengurangan Ketimpangan), dan SDG 11 (Kota dan Komunitas Berkelanjutan). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan pengelola, relawan, dan penerima manfaat, observasi partisipatif terhadap kegiatan literasi, serta studi dokumentasi program TBM. Analisis data dilakukan secara interaktif melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan, dengan menjamin keabsahan data melalui triangulasi dan member checking. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program literasi di TBM Rumah Peradaban SNC Fannaz mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal Mandailing dan Melayu Deli melalui kegiatan membaca dan mendongeng cerita rakyat, literasi lintas generasi, penggunaan bahasa daerah, serta pelibatan relawan muda sebagai fasilitator literasi budaya. Pendekatan ini terbukti meningkatkan minat baca, memperkuat identitas budaya peserta, memperluas akses pendidikan nonformal yang inklusif, serta mendorong kohesi sosial komunitas. Namun demikian, penelitian juga menemukan sejumlah tantangan, seperti keterbatasan koleksi budaya lokal, kapasitas manajerial yang belum terdokumentasi secara sistematis, keterbatasan pendanaan, serta belum optimalnya integrasi literasi digital berbasis konten lokal. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa literasi berbasis kearifan lokal di TBM berpotensi menjadi model pendidikan nonformal yang kontekstual, inklusif, dan berkelanjutan, sekaligus berkontribusi nyata terhadap pencapaian SDGs di tingkat komunitas. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi rujukan bagi pengelola TBM, pemerintah daerah, dan pembuat kebijakan dalam mengembangkan program literasi berbasis budaya lokal yang berorientasi pada pembangunan berkelanjutan

Abstract

This study investigates how artificial intelligence (AI) literacy is applied and perceived by academic librarians in university libraries across Kwara State, Nigeria. Employing a phenomenological approach, fifteen academic librarians were interviewed to explore their lived experiences in utilizing AI-related tools and services. The findings reveal that AI literacy is practiced through various technologies, including virtual assistants, research platforms, chatbots, and discovery engines, which enhance access to scholarly resources and improve library service delivery. However, several challenges hinder effective adoption, such as limited funding, inadequate professional training, ethical concerns, and insufficient Internet infrastructure. The study concludes that although AI literacy provides significant benefits for academic library services, its successful integration requires strategic planning, strong institutional support, and appropriate ethical governance. This research contributes to the literature by situating AI literacy within the lived experiences of academic librarians in a developing-country context, offering new insights into both the opportunities and the constraints of AI adoption in university libraries.

Abstract

The development of digital services has transformed the pattern of interaction between librarians and library users, shifting from face-to-face communication to technology-based communication. This transformation creates new challenges in maintaining interpersonal closeness and the quality of information services. This study aims to analyze the application of Symbolic Interaction Theory, Social Exchange Theory, and Dramaturgical Theory in understanding the dynamics of librarians’ interpersonal communication in the digital library environment. This research employs a literature review method with a qualitative analytical approach. Data sources were obtained from research findings, journal articles, and relevant scholarly books published between 2018 and 2025. The analysis was conducted through the stages of identification, classification, and synthesis of literature findings, focusing on the application of the main concepts of the three social theories within the context of digital library services. The results indicate that the three social theories provide complementary conceptual frameworks. Symbolic Interaction Theory explains how the meaning of services is constructed through symbols and digital language; Social Exchange Theory highlights the reciprocal balance between librarians and library users in the process of information sharing; while Dramaturgical Theory describes the role strategies of librarians in presenting a professional image in the digital environment. The integration of these three theories strengthens the understanding of the importance of interpersonal communication based on empathy, trust, and professionalism in building effective and humanistic information services in the digital era. This research contributes to the development of a theoretical framework in the study of library communication and provides a conceptual basis for enhancing the interpersonal competencies of digital librarians in the future. Abstrak Perkembangan layanan digital telah mengubah pola interaksi antara pustakawan dan pemustaka, dari komunikasi tatap muka menjadi komunikasi berbasis teknologi. Perubahan ini menimbulkan tantangan baru dalam menjaga kedekatan interpersonal dan kualitas pelayanan informasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan teori interaksi simbolik, teori pertukaran sosial, dan teori dramaturgi dalam memahami dinamika komunikasi interpersonal pustakawan di lingkungan perpustakaan digital. Penelitian menggunakan metode literature review dengan pendekatan kualitatif analitis. Sumber data diperoleh dari hasil penelitian, artikel jurnal, dan buku ilmiah yang relevan pada periode 2018–2025. Analisis dilakukan melalui tahapan identifikasi, klasifikasi, dan sintesis terhadap temuan literatur dengan fokus pada penerapan konsep-konsep utama dari ketiga teori sosial tersebut dalam konteks layanan digital. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga teori sosial memberikan kerangka konseptual yang saling melengkapi. Teori interaksi simbolik menjelaskan bagaimana makna layanan dibangun melalui simbol dan bahasa digital; teori pertukaran sosial menyoroti keseimbangan timbal balik antara pustakawan dan pemustaka dalam proses berbagi informasi; sedangkan teori dramaturgi menggambarkan strategi peran pustakawan dalam menampilkan citra profesional di ruang digital. Integrasi ketiga teori ini memperkuat pemahaman tentang pentingnya komunikasi interpersonal berbasis empati, kepercayaan, dan profesionalitas dalam membangun layanan informasi yang efektif dan humanis di era digital. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan kerangka teoretis dalam kajian komunikasi kepustakawanan, serta memberikan dasar konseptual bagi peningkatan kompetensi interpersonal pustakawan digital di masa depan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of village libraries as knowledge nodes in the context of globalization by examining their contributions, transformation dynamics, challenges, and strengthening strategies in Indonesia. The research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach on 13 relevant journal articles published between 2020 and 2025. The articles were selected based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria and analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns of transformation and institutional strengthening strategies of village libraries. The findings indicate that village libraries have transformed from passive collection-based institutions into multidimensional literacy centers, community empowerment hubs, and agents of social transformation. Their contributions include the development of reading literacy, information literacy, and digital literacy, as well as the enhancement of local community capacity, creativity, and skills. However, village libraries still face several structural challenges, including limited human resources, collections, facilities, funding, and gaps in digital infrastructure. The study highlights the strategic potential of village libraries as knowledge nodes that connect global information flows with the local needs of communities. The novelty of this research lies in the conceptual reconstruction of village libraries from a knowledge connectivity perspective that integrates literacy, information connectivity, and social empowerment within the framework of globalization. These findings contribute theoretically to the development of library and information science studies and provide practical implications for strengthening sustainable knowledge-based rural development. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis peran perpustakaan desa sebagai simpul pengetahuan dalam konteks globalisasi dengan mengkaji kontribusi, dinamika transformasi, tantangan, serta strategi penguatannya di Indonesia. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan Systematic Literature Review (SLR) terhadap 13 artikel jurnal yang relevan dan dipublikasikan pada periode 2020–2025. Artikel dipilih berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi yang telah ditetapkan, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik untuk mengidentifikasi pola transformasi dan strategi penguatan kelembagaan perpustakaan desa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perpustakaan desa mengalami transformasi dari institusi berbasis koleksi pasif menjadi pusat literasi multidimensi, pemberdayaan masyarakat, dan transformasi sosial. Kontribusinya mencakup pengembangan literasi baca-tulis, literasi informasi, dan literasi digital, serta peningkatan kapasitas, kreativitas, dan keterampilan masyarakat lokal. Namun demikian, perpustakaan desa masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan struktural, seperti keterbatasan sumber daya manusia, koleksi, fasilitas, anggaran, serta kesenjangan infrastruktur digital. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa perpustakaan desa memiliki potensi strategis sebagai simpul pengetahuan yang menghubungkan arus informasi global dengan kebutuhan lokal masyarakat. Kebaruan penelitian terletak pada rekonstruksi konseptual perpustakaan desa dalam perspektif konektivitas pengetahuan yang mengintegrasikan dimensi literasi, konektivitas informasi, dan pemberdayaan sosial dalam kerangka globalisasi. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi teoretis bagi pengembangan kajian ilmu perpustakaan dan informasi serta implikasi praktis bagi penguatan pembangunan desa berbasis pengetahuan yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Decision-making in library management tends to be oriented towards administrative and efficienct aspects, while the ethical dimension has not been formulated conceptually. This study aims to reconstruct the concept of deliberation in the Qur'an as an ethical basis for library decision-making. The study uses a qualitative approach with a library study design. Data were obtained from contemporary exegetical literature, particularly the thoughts of M. Quraish Shihab and Yusuf al-Qaradawi, as well as scientific articles searched through Google Scholar with the keyword deliberation, organizational ethics, and library management, which were limited to publications in the last five years. The analysis was conducted using thematic analysis techniques to identify normative values ​​and their relevance in an institutional context. The results show that deliberation contains the principles of inclusive participation, deliberative justice, trustworthiness, and collective responsibility that can be operationalized in program planning, collection development, and service evaluation. This study contributes theoretically by formulating deliberation as an ethical framework for organizations based on Islamic values and practically provides a normative foundation for participatory and accountable library governance. Abstrak Pengambilan keputusan dalam manajemen perpustakaan cenderung berorientasi pada aspek administratif dan efisiensi, sementara dimensi etika belum dirumuskan secara konseptual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merekonstruksi konsep musyawarah dalam Al-Qur'an sebagai landasan etis bagi pengambilan keputusan di perpustakaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kepustakaan. Data diperoleh dari literatur tafsir kontemporer, khususnya pemikiran M. Quraish Shihab dan Yusuf al-Qaradawi, serta artikel ilmiah yang ditelusuri melalui Google Scholar dengan kata kunci musyawarah, etika organisasi, dan manajemen perpustakaan, yang dibatasi pada publikasi lima tahun terakhir. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan teknik analisis tematik untuk mengidentifikasi nilai-nilai normatif serta relevansinya dalam konteks kelembagaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa musyawarah mengandung prinsip partisipasi inklusif, keadilan deliberatif, amanah, dan tanggung jawab kolektif yang dapat dioperasionalkan dalam perencanaan program, pengembangan koleksi, dan evaluasi layanan. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi secara teoretis dengan merumuskan musyawarah sebagai kerangka etika organisasi berbasis nilai-nilai Islam, serta secara praktis menyediakan landasan normatif bagi tata kelola perpustakaan yang partisipatif dan akuntabel.

Abstract

This article examines the concept of tabligh from the perspective of thematic hadith as a basis for formulating a conceptual framework for knowledge dissemination in Library Science. This study aims to map the construction of the meaning of tabligh in the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and to formulate an ethical framework for knowledge dissemination that is relevant to the development of library practices. This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method and thematic hadith analysis (maudhu‘i). The primary data consist of hadiths concerning the obligation to convey knowledge, the prohibition of concealing knowledge, and scientific responsibility, which are analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings reveal three main thematic classifications within the concept of tabligh: (1) the normative-transformative dimension, which emphasizes the moral obligation to convey knowledge; (2) the communicative-epistemic dimension, which demands accuracy, clarity, and source validity; and (3) the social-beneficial dimension, which is oriented toward accessibility and public benefit. Based on this mapping, the study formulates an ethical framework for knowledge dissemination grounded in tabligh values, positioning librarians as both moral agents and information mediators. These findings extend the study of Islamic information ethics from a predominantly normative approach toward a conceptual formulation that is applicable within the context of Library Science development. Abstrak Artikel ini mengkaji konsep tabligh dalam perspektif hadis tematik sebagai dasar perumusan kerangka konseptual diseminasi pengetahuan dalam Ilmu Perpustakaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan konstruksi makna tabligh dalam hadis Nabi Muhammad saw. serta merumuskan formulasi kerangka etis diseminasi pengetahuan yang relevan bagi pengembangan praktik perpustakaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kepustakaan dan analisis hadis tematik (maudhu‘i). Data utama berupa hadis-hadis tentang kewajiban menyampaikan ilmu, larangan menyembunyikan pengetahuan, serta tanggung jawab keilmuan, yang dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis isi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya tiga klasifikasi tematik utama dalam konsep tabligh: (1) dimensi normatif-transformatif, yang menekankan kewajiban moral penyampaian ilmu; (2) dimensi komunikatif-epistemik, yang menuntut akurasi, kejelasan, dan validitas sumber; serta (3) dimensi sosial-kemaslahatan, yang berorientasi pada aksesibilitas dan kebermanfaatan publik. Berdasarkan pemetaan tersebut, penelitian ini merumuskan kerangka etis diseminasi pengetahuan berbasis nilai tabligh yang menempatkan pustakawan sebagai agen moral sekaligus mediator informasi. Temuan ini memperluas kajian etika informasi Islam dari pendekatan normatif menuju formulasi konseptual yang aplikatif dalam konteks pengembangan Ilmu Perpustakaan.

Abstract

This article examines a social inclusion–based library promotion model implemented at the Regional Library and Archives Office of South Sulawesi Province. The study aims to analyze the promotional strategies employed to support service accessibility for all segments of society and to assess their effectiveness in increasing user participation. The research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study method. The informants consist of librarians, administrative staff, and service users selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The findings indicate that promotional transformation is no longer oriented toward conventional information dissemination, but has evolved into a participatory promotion model grounded in social inclusion. This transformation is characterized by the integration of digital media, community collaboration, and the development of literacy programs that are responsive to the needs of vulnerable groups. Effective inclusion mechanisms include the use of social media as a platform for two-way interaction, the provision of accessibility facilities for persons with disabilities, the development of multilingual and audio-format collections, and the implementation of community needs based digital literacy programs. The main findings reveal a significant relationship between collaborative promotional strategies and increased user participation, as reflected in higher visitation rates, greater engagement in literacy activities, and improved public awareness of inclusive library services. Thus, promotional transformation functions as a strategic instrument in expanding access, fostering social engagement, and promoting the sustainability of inclusive library services. Abstrak Artikel ini membahas model promosi perpustakaan berbasis inklusi sosial di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi promosi yang diterapkan dalam mendukung aksesibilitas layanan bagi seluruh lapisan masyarakat serta menilai efektivitasnya terhadap peningkatan partisipasi pengguna. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi kasus. Informan penelitian terdiri dari pustakawan, staf administrasi, dan pengguna layanan yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa transformasi promosi tidak lagi berorientasi pada penyebaran informasi secara konvensional, tetapi berkembang menjadi model promosi partisipatif berbasis inklusi sosial. Pola transformasi ini ditandai oleh integrasi media digital, kolaborasi komunitas, dan penyusunan program literasi yang responsif terhadap kebutuhan kelompok rentan. Mekanisme inklusi yang terbukti efektif meliputi pemanfaatan media sosial sebagai ruang interaksi dua arah, penyediaan fasilitas aksesibilitas bagi penyandang disabilitas, pengembangan koleksi multibahasa dan format audio, serta pelaksanaan program literasi digital berbasis kebutuhan masyarakat. Temuan utama penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya hubungan signifikan antara strategi promosi kolaboratif dan peningkatan partisipasi pengguna, yang terlihat dari bertambahnya kunjungan, keterlibatan dalam kegiatan literasi, serta meningkatnya kesadaran masyarakat terhadap layanan inklusif perpustakaan. Dengan demikian, transformasi promosi berperan sebagai instrumen strategis dalam memperluas akses, keterlibatan sosial, dan mendorong keberlanjutan layanan inklusif.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze Ahmad Tsalby's thought in At-Tarbiyah al-Islamiyah regarding the concept of libraries in Islamic education, which are positioned as an integral part of the educational process. This research employs a library research method, with the primary data source being At-Tarbiyah al-Islamiyah written by Ahmad Tsalby, while secondary data sources are obtained from books and relevant scholarly journal articles. The data were analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify Ahmad Tsalby's conceptual ideas concerning the functions of libraries within the framework of Islamic education. The findings reveal that, according to Ahmad Tsalby, Islamic libraries have four main functions: as a means for the development of knowledge, as guardians of the Islamic intellectual tradition, as centers of dynamic scholarly activity, and as a foundation for the formation of ethics and morals toward knowledge. These findings indicate that libraries function not merely as places for storing collections, but also as educational institutions that support the achievement of Islamic educational goals through the development of scholarly traditions and the internalization of Islamic values. Therefore, the concept of libraries proposed by Ahmad Tsalby remains relevant to be contextualized in the management of libraries within contemporary Islamic educational institutions. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemikiran Ahmad Tsalby dalam kitab At-Tarbiyah al-Islamiyah mengenai konsep perpustakaan dalam pendidikan Islam yang diposisikan sebagai bagian integral dari proses pendidikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kepustakaan dengan sumber data primer berupa kitab At-Tarbiyah al-Islamiyah karya Ahmad Tsalby, sedangkan sumber data sekunder diperoleh dari buku dan artikel jurnal ilmiah yang relevan. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis konten untuk mengidentifikasi gagasan konseptual Ahmad Tsalby mengenai fungsi perpustakaan dalam kerangka pendidikan Islam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa menurut Ahmad Tsalby perpustakaan Islam memiliki empat fungsi utama, yaitu sebagai sarana pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan, penjaga tradisi intelektual Islam, pusat aktivitas keilmuan yang hidup, serta landasan pembentukan etika dan akhlak terhadap ilmu. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa perpustakaan tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai tempat penyimpanan koleksi, tetapi juga sebagai institusi edukatif yang mendukung tercapainya tujuan pendidikan Islam melalui pengembangan tradisi keilmuan dan internalisasi nilai-nilai Islam. Oleh karena itu, konsep perpustakaan yang dikemukakan Ahmad Tsalby memiliki relevansi untuk dikontekstualisasikan dalam pengelolaan perpustakaan pada lembaga pendidikan Islam kontemporer.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the increasing use of new media in accessing Islamic information; however, studies explaining how such media contribute to the formation of Islamic knowledge at the individual level, particularly among Generation Y and Generation Z, remain limited. This study aims to analyze the role of new media in enhancing Islamic knowledge among Generation Y and Generation Z at Alauddin State Islamic University of Makassar. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) involving 11 informants, consisting of Generation Y lecturers and Generation Z students who actively use digital media. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis through coding, theme categorization, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that new media serve as a primary source for accessing Islamic knowledge through various digital platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and Islamic websites. Generation Y tends to use new media functionally for academic purposes, while Generation Z utilizes it more intensively as part of their daily digital life. Moreover, new media encourage users to critically select and evaluate Islamic information. This study proposes the 4A Model (Access, Attention, Appraisal, and Adoption), which explains the stages of Islamic knowledge formation through new media. This model offers a conceptual contribution to understanding the mechanism of religious knowledge construction in the digital era. Abstrak Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh meningkatnya penggunaan media baru dalam memperoleh informasi keislaman, namun kajian yang menjelaskan bagaimana media tersebut berperan dalam pembentukan wawasan keislaman pada tingkat individu, khususnya pada Generasi Y dan Generasi Z, masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran media baru dalam menambah wawasan keislaman Generasi Y dan Generasi Z di Universitas Islam Negeri Alauddin Makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) terhadap 11 informan yang terdiri atas dosen Generasi Y dan mahasiswa Generasi Z yang aktif menggunakan media digital. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik melalui tahap pengkodean, pengelompokan tema, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media baru dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber utama dalam memperoleh wawasan keislaman melalui berbagai platform digital seperti YouTube, Instagram, dan website keislaman. Generasi Y cenderung memanfaatkan media baru secara fungsional untuk kepentingan akademik, sedangkan Generasi Z menggunakannya secara lebih intensif sebagai bagian dari kehidupan digital sehari-hari. Selain itu, media baru mendorong proses seleksi dan evaluasi informasi keislaman secara kritis. Penelitian ini menghasilkan Model 4A (Access, Attention, Appraisal, dan Adoption) yang menjelaskan tahapan pembentukan wawasan keislaman melalui media baru. Model ini merupakan kontribusi konseptual dalam menjelaskan mekanisme pembentukan pengetahuan keagamaan di era digital.
