Abstract

This study discusses decency as an ethic of the Dayak Keninjal human in the village of Laman Bukit. Each tribe in its relationship with others in society must have a rule as social ethics. The social ethics then become a rule or law in common life. The Dayak Keninjal tribe of Laman Bukit village also has a concept of social ethics and rules of living together which is called Kesupant. They or the Dayak Keninjal people in the village of Laman Hill view decency as a liberating law in the ethics of daily interaction. Meanwhile, according to Aristotle, ethics is a moral obligation in living together in order to achieve the bonum commune or the common good. The method used in this study is the method of literature study and interviews with the traditional leader of the Dayak Keninjal tribe. Meanwhile, the methodology used in this study is a reflection of philosophy in Aristotelian ethics as the main scalpel that the author uses. This study found that the Dayak Keninjal people long before they knew civilization already had the concept of daily social ethics known as kesupan. By knowing concepts like these, we can look for local cultural riches that have other philosophical values.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to provide a new perspective in building theology that is appropriate to the Indonesian context. In an effort to build a distinctive Indonesian theology, the author explores the Syria-Iraq and Palestinian contexts that live in the midst of all situations and challenges in maintaining faith. John Damascus, al-Kindy al-Hasyimi, and Mitri Raheb developed a theology that fits the Syria-Iraq and Palestinian contexts. In their explanations, they present familiar terminology for the Syria-Iraq and Palestine situations, making it easier for Christians to explain the content of the Christian faith. In this way, Indonesian Christians can learn from Syrian-Iraqi and Palestinian Christians in building a Liberation theology that is uniquely Indonesian. To build a Liberation theology in Indonesia, it is necessary to pay attention to the challenges in Indonesia, namely the many cultures and religious traditions and more importantly to the issue of sectarianism or intolerance that results in violence. If the starting point for theology departs from the explanation of Jesus, there will be a clash. The Federation of Asian Bishops Conference (FABC) suggests doing theology in Asia, specifically in Indonesia, not starting with Christology but starting with Pneumatology.

Abstract

Abstract

The presence of a chosen nation that began with God's covenant with Abraham, also began with God's promise to Abraham about descendants who would become Abraham's heirs in the future. Of course this begins with God's promise to the descendants of Eve who will be the savior (Genesis 3:15). So that there is a development of God's statement in a specific and representative manner with the presence of Abraham's descendants. When God appeared to Abraham after arriving in Shechem, the promise of descendants was repeated (Genesis 12:7). This means that the presence of heirs will determine the blessing of the nations. In the development of the theological world, there is a common misconception that the Old Testament (OT) does not have a mission mandate and that the OT is a book dedicated only to the Jewish people and Jewish history. However, this view does not match the claims made by the Old Testament itself. If you pay close attention to the beginnings of the Old Testament then it would be a mistake to judge that the Old Testament lacked a mission challenge. The message in the earliest chapters of Genesis is that there is a universal and global audience. Didn't God deal with "all the peoples of the earth" when God acted in saving at the three incident points, namely the fall of mankind, the flood event and the tower of Babel in Genesis 1-11? God directs the great message of salvation to all mankind (Genesis 3:15; 9:17; 12:1-3).
