Abstract

This paper from the journal Health Psychology analyzes the connection between positive outlook and beneficial actions in young adults. Two hundred people between the ages of 18 and 25 participated in the poll that measured optimistic outlook and healthful actions. Positive thinking was found to be correlated with health-enhancing behaviors, indicating that encouraging positive thinking could be an effective method of encouraging healthy lifestyles and lowering the prevalence of chronic diseases. The research had some flaws, such as a small sample size and the fact that it relied on participants' own reports for its findings. To confirm these results and discover interventions that effectively promote healthy thinking and living, more study is required.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to better understand the variables that contribute to poor health in Bangladesh's urban areas. The research combined secondary data analysis with main data gathering techniques like surveys and in-depth interviews. The results indicate that the health outcomes of the urban poor are significantly affected by poor living circumstances, inadequate access to healthcare facilities, and low health literacy. The research concluded that the health of Bangladesh's urban poor could be improved through interventions like health education, community-based healthcare services, and policy changes targeted at addressing social determinants of health. These results stress the need for more efficient interventions to help the urban impoverished overcome barriers to healthcare.

Abstract

In this research, look at how people in Indonesia's rural areas gain entry to and make use of medical treatment. 500 households were randomly selected from four rural villages in Central Java for a cross-sectional study. High rates of unmet healthcare needs and low healthcare utilization rates were found to suggest that healthcare access and utilization are poor in rural regions of Indonesia. Distance, cost, and a dearth of services are all factors that limit people's ability to receive medical treatment when they need it. Healthcare access and usage were also found to be significantly influenced by socioeconomic status, education, and health literacy. Conclusions Significant efforts should be made to increase healthcare access and utilization in Indonesia's rural regions, according to the results.

Abstract

There has been an increase in the use of telemedicine services due to the COVID-19 pandemic's severe impact on the delivery of mental health care. The purpose of this research was to analyze how mental health services were delivered via telemedicine in Malaysia during the 2009 COVID-19 epidemic. In order to better understand the experiences of adults who have used telemedicine for mental health treatment, a cross-sectional survey was carried out. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and logistic regression. Most people who used telemedicine for mental health care were content with the experience, suggesting that the services were widely adopted. The likelihood of using telemedicine services for mental health care increased considerably with younger age, higher education level, and the presence of preexisting mental health conditions. However, people have mentioned concerns about privacy, lack of personal contact with healthcare providers, and technical difficulties as reasons for not using telemedicine. These results show the promise of telemedicine services for mental health treatment in Malaysia and the necessity of maintaining efforts to remove obstacles to their use. Telemedicine services for mental health care in Malaysia and other nations need more study to determine their long-term efficacy and viability.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine how universal healthcare coverage in Nigeria would affect maternal and infant health. 500 households across four states in Nigeria provided information for this cross-sectional research. Data analysis using descriptive statistics revealed that the NHIS has helped increase access to and use of maternal and child healthcare services, leading to a decrease in maternal and child death rates. Inadequate funding, infrastructure, and health workforce were also cited as obstacles to implementing the NHIS in the study. Maximizing the NHIS's effect and achieving further gains in maternal and child health outcomes will require addressing these challenges and social determinants of health, such as poverty, education, and access to clean water and sanitation. These results have substantial implications for healthcare policymakers and providers in Nigeria and other low-income nations. Improving maternal and child health outcomes and decreasing household healthcare expenses are two major goals of universal healthcare coverage initiatives like the NHIS.
