Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Business (RIGGS) is published by the Department of Digital Business, Universitas Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai in helping academics, researchers, and practitioners to disseminate their research results. Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis daya mampu pasokan listrik di Pulau Marampit, Kabupaten Kepulauan Talaud, yang merupakan salah satu wilayah terluar Indonesia dengan keterbatasan infrastruktur energi. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan mengumpulkan data primer dan sekunder terkait kebutuhan energi harian masyarakat, kapasitas pembangkit listrik yang tersedia, efisiensi distribusi, serta performa operasional pembangkit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kapasitas daya pembangkit sebesar 200 kW belum sepenuhnya memadai dalam memenuhi beban puncak sebesar 170 kW, dengan cadangan daya (reserve margin) hanya 17,65%, di bawah standar nasional sebesar 20%. Efisiensi konsumsi bahan bakar tercatat sebesar 0,38 liter/kWh, melampaui standar efisiensi nasional sebesar 0,3 liter/kWh, yang berdampak pada tingginya biaya operasional. Waktu layanan listrik rata-rata 14 jam per hari masih tergolong rendah, dengan frekuensi pemadaman mendadak mencapai 2–3 kali per minggu. Potensi pengembangan energi terbarukan, khususnya tenaga surya dengan intensitas radiasi 4,8 kWh/m²/hari, dinilai tinggi dan dapat mendukung integrasi sistem hybrid PLTD–PLTS. Temuan ini menjadi dasar penting dalam pengembangan strategi energi yang andal dan berkelanjutan untuk wilayah perbatasan dan kepulauan kecil.

Abstract

Sea transportation is the most important means of inter-island connectivity in Indonesia. Companies must try to make customers feel satisfied by providing better offers and services, companies must be able to maintain their market position in the midst of increasing competition. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the variables of service quality, facilities and ticket prices partially on passenger satisfaction at PT. Pelni (Persero) Baubau Branch. Evaluating the quality of services, facilities and ticket prices simultaneously on passenger satisfaction and evaluate which of the three parameters used has the most influence on passenger satisfaction. The data used in this study are primary data obtained by distributing questionnaires to the passengers of PT. Pelni (Persero) Baubau Branch has 50 employees using multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The results showed that Service Quality (X1) had a significant level of 0.013 <0.05. This means that service quality has a positive and significant effect on passenger satisfaction. Facility (X2) has a significant level of 0.012 <0.05. This means that facilities have a positive and significant effect on passenger satisfaction. Ticket prices (x3) have a significant level of 0.019 <0.05. This means that ticket prices have a positive and significant effect on passenger satisfaction.

Abstract

In response to the increasing shift toward hybrid work arrangements, this study investigates the role of digital leadership in shaping employee engagement, emphasizing the mediating effects of trust in leadership and digital communication. Drawing on the Job Demands–Resources (JD–R) model and Social Exchange Theory, this research adopts a quantitative approach using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) based on survey data collected from 385 employees working under hybrid systems in diverse organizational settings. The findings reveal that digital leadership has a significant positive direct effect on employee engagement (β = 0.36, p < 0.001). Furthermore, trust in leadership and digital communication both serve as partial mediators in this relationship, indicating that relational and communicative mechanisms are crucial for sustaining engagement in digitally mediated environments. The structural model explained 51% of the variance in employee engagement, demonstrating strong explanatory power. These results extend current leadership theory by contextualizing digital leadership within hybrid work structures and emphasizing the need for trust-building and high-quality communication. The study contributes to the HRM literature by offering actionable insights for organizations seeking to optimize leadership strategies and communication infrastructures in evolving digital workplaces. Despite limitations related to cross-sectional data and sample generalizability, the research provides a foundation for future longitudinal and cross-cultural investigations into digital leadership dynamics.

Abstract

As conversational artificial intelligence (AI) continues to transform digital commerce, understanding how chatbot-mediated interactions shape consumer decision-making is essential. This study investigates the role of AI-based chatbots in influencing consumer purchase behavior through real-time, natural language communication. Focusing on the emerging dimensions of perceived empathy and trust, the research employs a mixed-methods approach combining a quantitative survey (n = 420) and qualitative text mining of chatbot dialogues collected from the used car sales sector in the Tangerang region, Indonesia. Findings reveal four key insights: (1) perceived empathy strongly predicts consumer trust, (2) trust in AI significantly drives behavioral intention to purchase, (3) empathy also directly influences intention, and (4) empathetic language triggers engagement during chatbot interactions. These results demonstrate that affective communication by AI agents is a critical driver of consumer responses in digital transactions. The study extends the Technology Acceptance Model by integrating emotional constructs and contributes to human resource and marketing strategy by showing how emotional intelligence, when encoded into AI systems, affects relational and behavioral outcomes. Despite the geographic and sectoral limitations of the sample, the findings underscore the growing need to humanize AI communication in commerce. Future research should explore cross-cultural validations and assess AI–human interaction in broader organizational contexts.

Abstract

Metaverse adalah ekosistem virtual menakjubkan yang dianggap sebagai evolusi teknologi dari penggunaan internet. Metaverse memberikan penggunanya kesempatan dan kemampuan untuk berinteraksi satu sama lain dalam dunia virtual. Teknologi metaverse mungkin membuka peluang baru untuk bekerja sama, belajar, dan melakukan pekerjaan, termasuk bagi penyandang disabilitas. Studi ini menganalisis publikasi ilmiah dari tahun 2018 hingga 2024 tentang bagaimana teknologi metaverse, virtual reality (VR), dan augmented reality (AR) dapat membantu orang yang memiliki ketidakmampuan atau disabilitas untuk bekerja. Sebanyak 30 artikel memenuhi kriteria bibliografi, yang diperoleh dari basis data Sinta, Scopus, dan Web of Science. Hasil analisis kinerja menunjukkan tren publikasi terkait metaverse dan pekerja dengan disabilitas meningkat  sejak 2020, dengan publikasi terbanyak pada 2023 (8 artikel), tetapi turun kembali pada 2024. Amerika Serikat dan Tiongkok memberikan kontribusi paling banyak, diikuti oleh Indonesia, yang terkenal karena publikasi nasionalnya. Empat tema utama penelitian ditampilkan oleh peta ilmu pengetahuan: (1) aksesibilitas dan desain inklusif; (2) teknologi metaverse dan realitas virtual; (3) pekerjaan dan pemberdayaan; dan (4) etika dan kebijakan. Kajian empiris tentang dampak metaverse terhadap pekerja disabilitas masih terbatas, meskipun minat penelitian semakin meningkat. Studi ini menggabungkan kemajuan terbaru dengan literatur sebelumnya dan menawarkan rencana penelitian untuk masa depan dalam mengembangkan metaverse yang lebih inklusif bagi penyandang disabilitas mencari pekerjaan.
