Abstract

The potential skeletal effects of soy isoflavones in humans have garnered significant interest owing to their structural resemblance to endogenous estrogen and their potential to impact bone health. This abstract provides a concise overview of the current understanding of the effects of soy isoflavones on bone mineral density (BMD) and bone markers. Numerous studies have investigated the relationship between soy isoflavone consumption and BMD. Some studies have suggested a positive association between soy isoflavone intake and BMD, particularly among postmenopausal women. Isoflavones may exert their effects through estrogen receptor-mediated pathways, potentially mitigating bone loss by reducing osteoclastic activity and promoting osteoblastic functions. However, conflicting results have been reported, with certain studies demonstrating no significant impact on BMD. In addition to BMD, bone markers such as serum osteocalcin, urinary deoxypyridinoline, and tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase have been evaluated to elucidate the mechanistic effects of soy isoflavones on bone metabolism. These markers provide insights into bone turnover, resorption, and formation. Clinical trials have reported mixed findings regarding the influence of soy isoflavones on bone markers, reflecting the complexity of their interaction with bone physiology

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of community-based environmental education programs in promoting sustainable character development among participants. The research utilized a mixed-methods approach, consisting of both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis. The sample consisted of 50 individuals aged 18-30 who had participated in community-based environmental education programs within the past year. The results showed a significant improvement in participants' attitudes, knowledge, and behaviours related to sustainability after participating in the community-based environmental education programs. Qualitative data from the interviews provided further insights into the specific aspects of the program that were most impactful for participants. The findings support the effectiveness of community-based environmental education programs in promoting sustainable character development among participants and highlight the importance of creating inclusive and diverse learning environments that recognize and value different perspectives and experiences related to sustainability issues. Future research should continue to explore the long-term impacts of community-based environmental education programs on participants' behaviour and attitudes towards sustainability, as well as the broader societal and environmental benefits of these programs

Abstract

Work should remain safe, comfortable and not tiring, but should result in good work results or good productivity. To achieve this, we need an ergonomic approach in industry so that work is not tiring and productivity increases. In this paper it is planned in a descriptive manner. Data is taken from various opinions in literature or called literature studies. Analysis was also carried out descriptively. Conclusion, Equipment adapted to the user's anthropometry will make the work posture and work range better, and work without bending over, so that work does not get tired quickly. The physical environment of the floor and ventilation that meet the requirements will be free from the occurrence of dizziness and headaches for workers; environment many biological microorganisms especially bacteria, fungi and viruses some occupations are particularly susceptible to contracting pneumonia while carrying out work duties; chemical environment exposure to polluting gases in the form of NOx, Sox, HC, and greenhouse gas particles will affect the health of workers such as damaging blood hemoglobin composition, upper respiratory tract infections, throat irritation, pneumococcal disease, cardiovascular disease and cancer, and exposure to benzene has an effect on hemoglobin and erythrocyte abnormalities. Therefore, if the industrial environment is healthy, the workforce will also be healthy

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of socialization, education and perception in growing the interest of Makassar city residents in investing in mutual funds during the Covid-19 period. This research uses quantitative descriptive methods. The population in this research is the people of Makassar City, both those who have not invested and those who have invested in mutual funds, totaling 30 people from various age groups. In collecting data, researchers used a questionnaire/questionnaire research instrument which was filled out online and then tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis techniques use multiple linear regression analysis, t test, F test, and coefficient of determination. The results of this research state that the sig. 0.000 < 0.05 in the sense that the independent variables (socialization, education, perception) simultaneously have a significant influence on people's investment interest in mutual funds

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the impact produced from the scarcity of cooking oil and community purchasing power fluctuations on the products produced by the food industry in Makassar City. For this reason, this study uses a quantitative approach, and sampling in this study uses purposive sampling techniques that is a sample determination technique based on the consideration of researchers regarding which samples are most suitable, useful and are considered to represent a population. This variable, can be measured using an instrument, so that the amount of data can be analyzed using statistical procedures

The purpose of this research is to design a prototype for an automatic waste disposal robot based on Arduino AT Mega. The background of this research is rapid pace of technology in the era of digitalization where Artificial Intelligence is a field of science that is currently of great interest to many people, especially in the digital generation. The thing that we need to know is many human job almost replaced by automated machines or robotic technology. Nowadays, robots are used to make human work easier, such as throwing away piles of rubbish to the main waste disposer. This prototype of smart automatic waste disposal robot was designed and created as a human aid in the field of cleaning. The input process is carried out as an integration process between Arduino,  HCSR 04 sensor, and Infra Red Line Tracking sensor. For create Arduino, HCSR 04, and Line Tracking sensors can work optimally, the main thing is carry out the configuration process using a board and jumper cables as well as LED lights to ensure whether the sensors and other supporting tools are integrated with the Arduino
