Abstract

The increasing number of entrepreneurship programs, formal or nonformal, intends to increase the number of entrepreneurs in Indonesia. However, the number of entrepreneurs may not be associated with whether a person had been enrolling in entrepreneurship education. This study analyzes the association between entrepreneurial education and entrepreneurial motivation. Furthermore, we also want to investigate whether the two variables mentioned above have a correlation with gender. Of 101 collected respondents, the results are generated using the Chi-square independence test for data analysis. We found no association between gender and entrepreneurial motivation, no association between entrepreneurial education and entrepreneurial motivation, and no association between gender and entrepreneurial education. Thus, entrepreneurial motivation is fundamentally subjective and does not consider gender. This result generates significant recommendations for the Indonesian government to improve entrepreneurial activities and motivation in the future.

Abstract

Traditionally, everyone uses notes and coins or even credit cards and cheques for all business transactions, resulting in several problems such as inconvenience, inefficiency, and ineffectiveness. The limitation of traditional payment may cause delay in payment, high risk of theft, and fraud transaction. To reduce these problems, an e-wallet is introduced, and it helps to reduce fraud as the data stored in the mobile wallet are encrypted. An owner can reduce the limit and receive notification on any transaction. During the global pandemic, consumers are forced to follow the restriction of movement. Stores in Malaysia are closed, and consumers begin to buy things online aggressively. This study aims to determine the factors that affect the use of e-wallet among Gen-Y during the Global Pandemic using PLS-Sem analysis. Snowball sampling was used to gather 181 respondents via online surveys. This study adopted four variables, i.e., perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, benefits to users, and trust. Of them, two (perceived usefulness and trust) are supported.

Abstract

This paper analyzes the characteristics that influence the travel insurance claim based on existing data records. Using logistic regression, the dependent variable is the feature that determines whether there is a claim or no claim. On the other hand, the independent variables are analyzed using exploratory data analysis to identify which characteristic has the highest correlation with the dependent variable. Based on selected features, the logistic regression model is created and used to generate the prediction claim data. The predicted data gives an excellent approximation to the actual data.

Abstract

This article marks the inaugural of Applied Quantitative Analysis (AQA) journal. It is founded on the idea of numbers as the first and foremost mathematical object that act as the harbinger of all meaning. The journal aims to provide a medium for researchers and practitioners to exchange and disseminate their theoretical and practical works that employ quantitative analysis methods to their furthest extent. The journal covers research topics and themes in the three branches of sciences (i.e., formal science, natural science, and social science). In addition to discipline-specific studies, the AQA journal encourages multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary works. Basically, this journal accepts manuscript submissions as Research, Review, Method, Commentary, or Book Review articles. For the submission, each article type has its own general structure and particular requirements. On the other hand, this journal continuously establishes its diverse Editorial Board by inviting experienced scholars in the applied quantitative analysis area from different disciplines and geographical locations. As a focal point of publications among quantitative scholars, the journal invites quantitative scientists and researchers to join as reviewers to ensure the solid quality of published papers.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital payments in Southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia, has transformed financial behaviors, yet significant adoption and usage gaps remain among mid-to-late adulthood consumers. This study investigates the determinants of e-wallet continuance usage and loyalty within this mid-to-late adulthood segment in Indonesia, here referring to individuals aged 40 years and above, a demographic increasingly important to the nation’s digital economy. Drawing on Expectation Confirmation Theory and supported by insights from technology adoption and institutional perspectives, the research examines the influence of government support, social influence, and network externalities on continuance usage, and the role of continuance usage in shaping loyalty. Using a quantitative, cross-sectional design, data were collected from 223 e-wallet users within the targeted age segment and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings show that government support and social influence positively predict continuance usage, underscoring the importance of institutional legitimacy and interpersonal cues in reinforcing digital payment engagement among mid-to-late adulthood consumers. In contrast, network externalities do not significantly influence continuance usage, suggesting that market-wide adoption cues play a limited role for this demographic. The results also confirm that continuance usage strongly predicts loyalty, highlighting the importance of sustained user experience in fostering long-term commitment to e-wallet platforms. Collectively, these insights offer theoretical contributions to fintech continuance literature and practical implications for strengthening digital inclusion and user retention among older consumers.

Abstract

Although micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) hold an important role in Indonesian economic growth, especially MSMEs that have already done internationalization through export and the use of information technology (IT) for leveraging, there is limited data that can explain their factors and relationships that can influence export performance in order to achieve more. This study aims to analyse the roles of information technology (IT) and internationalization in explaining export performance in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). International entrepreneurial orientation, organisational learning orientation, and product/service quality are posited as the basis of internationalization analysis. Respondents are 104 MSMEs involved in the foreign market. This study uses a quantitative method, partial least squares (PLS), to test the hypothesis. The results indicate that export performance is positively significant influenced by international entrepreneurial orientation, and product/service quality. While the use of IT does not directly influence export performance, it does positively influence organisational learning orientation. The study also shows that organisational learning orientation does not positively influence the export performance. Studies on the internationalization of micro, small, and medium businesses in developing countries are still quite limited, so the study contributes to the existing literature on internationalization and international entrepreneurship research.
