Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is menstrual pain that is felt before or during menstruation and is usually cramping. In Indonesia, the incidence of dysmenorrhea is around 55% and in West Java it is 54.9%. Nonpharmacological pain management can be done by giving red ginger and green coconut water. Quasi-experiment research design with two group pretest-posttes research design. Aiming to determine the effect of giving red ginger water and young coconut water on reducing menstrual pain in adolescent girls Data were analyzed using paired and independent tests. There is an effect of giving red ginger water and green coconut water on reducing menstrual pain in adolescent girls with a P value of 0.00 (<0.05).There is a significant difference between the effect of red ginger water and green coconut water on reducing pain from a p value of 0.02 <? (0.05). Red ginger water and green coconut water have an effect on reducing menstrual pain in adolescent girls.

Abstract

elderly. According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health in 2018 hypertension in the elderly was 55.2%. One alternative treatment is using basil leaves (Ocimum Basilicum) and cucumber (Cucumis Sativus L). Objective: to determine the comparison of the effectiveness of basil leaves with cucumber on blood pressure in elderly hypertension. Methodology: Research using quasi-experiment with two groups pretest and posttest. Sampling using non probability sampling technique as many as 40 respondents and simple random sampling technique to determine both groups. The analysis used paired t test and independent t test: Average systolic and diastolic blood pressure pretest 147.50 / 94 mmHg and on cucumber 154.90 / 94.00 mmHg. In the posttest, it decreased in basil leaves 134.15/83.60 and cucumberp135.25 / 82.25. Obtained p-value of systolic blood pressure 0,86> ? (0.05) and r-value of diastolic blood pressure 0,49. The results of the independent t test showed no significant difference in the mean blood pressure in the intervention group given both basil and cucumber leaves. Conclusion: Cucumber jelly is more effective for reducing blood pressure for people with hypertension. Suggestion: This study is expected that patients who experience hypertension can consume cucumber jelly as an additional therapy for hypertension and it is hoped that the results of the study can be useful in dealing with high blood pressure in the elderly.

Abstract

The second wave of COVID-19 infection spread has occurred in Indonesia. There has been an increase in COVID-19 cases in various provinces in Indonesia based on a June 2021 report. This should encourage every community group, especially students, to be more strict in carrying out health protocols. The study used a questionnaire (google form) to collect data with a number of questions as many as 15 items. Sampling techniques are accidental sampling. Data is done validation and reliability test, then the difficulty is analyzed using a univariate test. During the 2nd wave of COVID-19, the government imposed restrictions on community activities in Malang City. During this time, students are increasingly aware of implementing health protocols by government advice. The percentage of respondents who kept their distance (91%), washed their hands, and used hand sanitizer (92.6%) during the 2nd wave of COVID-19 was very high. Respondent's interest in participating in vaccination programs is very high at 85.3%. Some other positive activities are also carried out to increase immunity such as taking vitamins (75.5%), as well as exercise and sunbathing (70.5%). The discipline of implementing health protocols will reduce the potential for the emergence of the third wave of COVID-19 in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract

The horse whip leaves plant (Stachytarpheta jamaincensis) is an annual herbaceous shrub. Cuts are wounds that occur due to cuts by instruments or sharps objects. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the ethanol extract of horse whip leaves on the healing of cuts in mice (Mus musculus) and the most effective concentration for healing cuts in mice. Design This study uses laboratory experimental methods. The sample used for each experimental group was 5 mice with a total of 5 groups, so this study used 25 mice with 3 treatments, namely the treatment (positive control (+), negative control (-), 25%, 50%, 75%). All data is tabulated and statistically analyzed with ANOVA. The conclusion shows that the concentration of horsetail leaf extract at a concentration of 75% is the most effective in healing cuts in mice when compared to horsetail leaf extract at concentrations of 50% and 25% in terms of the average percentage of healing from day 1 to day 7.
