Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology has facilitated international interactions, including travel for business, tourism, and other purposes. However, this ease of movement also enables individuals involved in criminal activities, such as corruption, to evade justice by fleeing abroad. This study aims to analyze the application of extradition law for Indonesian corruption offenders who escape overseas. Utilizing a normative juridical approach, the research collects data from books, journals, legislation, and websites, and analyzes media reports on corruption cases and applicable Indonesian laws. The findings indicate that Indonesia has implemented extradition treaties to address corruption cases, allowing for the arrest and return of offenders hiding in other countries to face trial in Indonesia. Notable cases requiring extradition include Djoko Tjandra, Nazaruddin, and Nunun Nurbaeti. The legal framework for extradition is governed by Law Number 1 of 1979 on Extradition, further detailed by regulations such as the Attorney General's Regulation Number 06 of 2018 and the Minister of Foreign Affairs' Regulation Number 13 of 2020. The study concludes that while extradition treaties are crucial for law enforcement, their effectiveness depends on international cooperation and robust legal frameworks. The implications highlight the need for enhanced extradition processes, stronger international collaboration, and improved legal mechanisms to combat transnational corruption and ensure that offenders are held accountable.

Abstract

Infrastructure development is essential for socio-economic growth, especially in the field of education, where facilities directly contribute to the development of human resources. In areas such as Sorong City, where the Indonesian government has invested a lot of funds, efficient project execution has become very important due to tight deadlines and budget constraints. This study examines the application of the fast-track method in managing the Model X School Construction Project in Sorong, focusing on its impact in reducing the duration and cost of the project. The fast-track method, characterized by overlapping and compression of activities, used in conjunction with Microsoft Project, represents a shift from the traditional, sequential project delivery model. The findings of this study show that the application of the fast-track method can reduce the project duration by 17 days and save indirect costs by 0.9%, or equivalent to IDR 13,073,000. These results confirm the effectiveness of this method in improving operational efficiency and reducing expenses in the context of projects that require quick and economical completion. This research contributes to the literature by providing insight into the practical benefits of fast-tracking methods in the construction industry, particularly educational infrastructure, and highlighting its potential for wider application to various types of construction projects.

The main factor that causes legal disharmony is the existence of sectoral ego in each agency. Therefore, the sectoral ego in each agency can be overcome by structured and coordinated coordination to ensure excellent and interrelated rules. The effort is to carry out vertical harmonization by involving various related agencies. This is to ensure that one rule and another rule have the same spirit and orientation so as not to cause problems in practice.
