Abstract

Communication performance and organizational culture are closely related, in the process an individual's communication performance reflects their organization's culture. Every company has its organizational culture, including Hotel “A," which is one of the 5-star international hotels in Jakarta, also experiencing issues with its organizational culture. This study employs descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The method used in this research is interview with employees from the in-room dining division at Hotel “A”, that is a 2 active members of the organization. The research findings reveal problems in the communication performance at Hotel “A”. For instance, in terms of ritual performance, there is a company culture of working overtime. Additionally, in terms of passion performance, the abundance of job tasks in the in-room dining division diminishes the manager's focus, especially for unexperienced leader in a similar divisions. Social performance shows the existence of factions within the organization but with no significant impact on operations. Political performance manifests as a sense of superiority over certain groups (seniority). Lastly, enculturation performance indicates differences in training between staff levels and daily workers, creating clearer disparities. All of these issues stem from the inadequate communication performance in the in-room dining division at Hotel “A”. If left unaddressed, they may lead to demotivation, a decline in work ethic, and feelings of saturation among employees, ultimately impacting the formation of the company's culture. The researcher suggests that management and Human Resources collaborate to address these issues, fostering open communication and welcoming input to establish positive organizational culture.

Abstract

Money has historically been used as a means of oppression, personal gain, and manipulation in politics, law, and justice, often contributing to societal discord. This article examines the concept of money and its societal perceptions through the lens of Prof. Dr. H. Kadirun Yahya, a prominent Indonesian Sufi and Mursyid of the Tariqah Naqshbandiyah, known for his success in managing a wide range of business ventures. Utilizing qualitative research methods, including interviews, observation, and documentation, the study investigates Yahya's numerous business initiatives aimed at fostering prosperity. These initiatives span diverse sectors such as agribusiness, including large-scale plantations (oil palm, apple, orange, and other crops), livestock farming (poultry, fish, ducks, goats, and cows), and enterprises in furniture manufacturing, workshops, drinking water factories, electronics, travel services, and more. The findings highlight Yahya's belief that money serves as a manifestation of divine light, a tool for attaining blessings and life's necessities. While money lacks inherent value, it remains essential for human existence. His view, consistent with other Sufi teachings, likes money to a mirror that reflects various possibilities based on its use. Grounded in Sufi principles that emphasize unity, illumination, and divine manifestation, Yahya argues that money should be employed to combat injustice, dishonesty, and exploitation. Its ultimate purpose is to uphold morality, promote social justice, equitable wealth distribution, and meet basic human needs. This research underscores the importance of further studies on integrating Sufi values into business management.

Abstract

Previous studies have often focused on meeting the standards set by the government, such as national standards for higher education. However, many of these studies do not present challenges in implementing these policies effectively. Therefore, this study emerged to fill the void of space with a continuous improvement approach. Taking a case study at Semarang State University (UNNES), this study will aim to test the alignment of UNNES recotr regulations on UNNES education standards in 2023, with Permendikbudristek Number 53 of 2023. Using qualitative research methods, this study found that UNNES is adapting itself to the new requirements set by national regulations. Not only that, UNNES is seen to partially answer the challenges that arise with a continuous improvement pattern. As a result, the vision, mission, and strategy of UNNES are in general line with Permendikbudristek Number 53 of 2023. The new findings from this study emphasize the importance of UNNES or other universities to continue to improve their educational process with a continuous improvement approach. The goal is that the national standards that have been set can be implemented in detail in order to achieve Indonesia's educational goals.

The government also has an obligation to protect athletes from exploitation and discrimination. In order to achieve brilliant sporting achievements, strong legal protection for national athletes is very important. Abstract

Academic resilience has emerged as a problem in education and mental health among society, especially among teenagers. Positive parenting and self-efficacy are supporting factors that help adolescents develop academic resilience. This research aims to prove the influence of self-efficacy as a mediator between positive parenting and academic resilience in adolescents. This study employed a quantitative research design, specifically an ex-post facto, with a sample size of 302 adolescents. The sample for this research was determined using an accidental sampling technique. Data collection for this research involved the use of the Academic Resilience Scale-30 (ARS), positive parenting scale, and self-efficacy scale. The validity test employed factor loading results, while the reliability test utilized Cronbach's Alpha. The reliability coefficient values for the academic resilience scale, positive parenting scale, and self-efficacy scale are 0.911, 0.897, and 0.879, respectively. The data analysis utilized various techniques of multiple regression analysis. The findings of this study suggest that favourable parenting characteristics have a moderating effect on academic resilience. The impact of favourable parenting factors on academic resilience, initially at 27.1%, increases to 30.5% when the self-efficacy variable is considered.
