Abstract

Background: cancer is one of the causes of morbidity and mortality around the world. The involvement of family members taking the role as caregivers in care is important. This study aims to describe the level of involvement and the quality of life of family caregivers in caring for cancer patients at the hospital. Methods: this research using quantitative methods with cross-sectional approach as much as 133 samples from the family of a cancer patient who was in RSUP. Wahidin Sudirohusodo in July 2018. The data collected to obtain an overview of sosiodemografi, engagement and quality of life of family caregivers using the Family Caregivers Involvement in Caring-Cancer (FCIC-C) and Caregiver QoL Index-Cancer (CQOLC) questionnaire. Results: the level of involvement of family caregivers toward cancer patients high (mean = 52.07; SD ± 14.01), where the domain of involvement in psychological issues is the highest order (mean = 9.51; SD ± 5.37). But quality of life is a little low (mean = 71.22; SD ± 21.33). Conclusion: Involvement of family caregivers in caring for cancer patients in RSUP. Wahidin Sudirohusodo is high especially in the domain of the fulfillment of psychological issues and social problems of patients but on the quality of life of life family caregivers a bit downhill.

Abstract

DOTS is a government program in controlling tuberculosis. One of the components of DOTS is the Drugs Supervisor (DS). Families as DS will be at risk of experiencing psychological problems. The purpose of the study was to determine the psychological condition of the family as a DS in the Semarang City Health Center. This study uses mixed methods with sequential explanatory design. The research sample was taken in total as many as 110 families as DS. Instrument for measuring anxiety using the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (ZSRAS), instrument for measuring stress levels using the Kingston Caregiver Stress Scale (KCSS). Data analysis uses a spearman rank. All respondents (100%) experienced mild anxiety levels, and 83 respondents (75.5%) experienced mild stress levels. The test results obtained p value 0.004 <0.05, and r value 0.274. There is a relationship between anxiety and stress, the higher the level of anxiety, the higher the stress level of the family as a DS.

Abstract

Chemotherapy can experience changes in functional status breast cancer patients. The purpose of this study was to describe the functional status of breast cancer patients with chemotherapy, with design uses descriptive analysis. The sample is all breast cancer patients with chemotherapy at RSUD Kraton Kabupaten Pekalongan. The respondents is 46, with sampling method used total sampling. The results of this study is 67.4% had an assessment of functional status in category A which meant that they were independent in 6 function including the functions of bathing, dressing, toileting, moving, continental and eating. 10.9% of respondents have functional status category F. 4.3% of respondents have functional status categories B, C, D, E, and G. Comprehensive nursing care is needed to improve the functional status of breast cancer patients with chemotherapy.

Abstract

Introduction: Sharia labeled hospitals have more responsibility in providing health services to patients. This challenge requires health care providers to compete by improving the quality of services so that patient loyalty is formed. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between sharia-based nursing services and patient loyalty in Semarang Hospital. Methodology: This research is a quantitative type with a cross sectional approach. Data collection using a questionnaire with the number of respondents 105 patients with total sampling technique. Results: the characteristics of respondents mostly consisted of age 36-45 (24.8%), last education elementary school 69 people (65.7%), length of stay that is 4 days a number of 35 people (33.3%), there is a relationship between services sharia-based nursing with patient loyalty at RSISA Semarang with pvalue 0.002 (p-value <0.05) with an R value (0.305). Discussion: This study can be used as a reference in improving good health services by implementing services in accordance with sharia principles so that patient loyalty is achieved.

Abstract

Introduction: A new role of a mother after giving birth is to breastfeed her baby instead of doing other household choirs. This condition will bring stress and tiredness to a mother. Oketani massage not only being useful for increasing breastmilk production but also provide comfort and a feeling of relaxation for the mother. Aim of this study was to describe cortisol levels in breastfeeding mothers who were given oketani massage therapy combine with acupressure at the GB-21 point. Methodology: This research was a quasi experiment with post test design with a control group with a sample of 20 respondents at each group. Statistical analysis using  independent T-test. Results: There was a significant difference in the levels of cortisol between control group and oketani massage combine with acupressure group (p = 0.003). Discussion: Oketani massage works well as a pain reliever, providing comfort, relaxation for the post partum mothers. This condition will reduce the level of cortisol hormone and increase blood flow to breasts.

Abstract

Background: Nursing professionalvalueis a foundation for a nurse in nursing practicing which can described by three valuecomponents, those are caring, activism, and professionalism. Applying nursing professional valuestarted by when the education process until practice in the clinic. The purpose of the research: Knowing describe of nursing professional value on student of program study nursing profession Faculty of Nursing and Health University of Muhammadiyah Semarang.Researchmethods: Kind of this study was descriptive qualitative which is applied survey approach, applied total sampling method with total respondent were 114 students, the data submitted was applied questionnaire of NPSV-3 (Nurse Professional Values Scale-3) consists of 28 question with Likert scale (Weish & Schank, 2017). Statistic analysis applied univariat analysis. Research results: The research showed characteristic of female sample 70 (61,4%), respondent age minimum 22 years and maximum 30 years. The value of nursing professionals with the category of less good 2 (1.8%), both 112 (98.2%). Caringvalue with category less good 1 (9%), good 113 (99,1%). The value of activismwith category less good 4 (3.5%), good 110 (96,5%). The value of professionalismwith the less good category 1 (9%), either 113 (99.1%).Conclusion: It was concluded that the average of the three components of the overall score in both categories with the total value of professional nursing was 112 (98.2%) with good category.Suggestion: This study canbe the evaluation material for institution of education and student nurse in applying nursing professional score also as an input in adjustment of education curriculum and supporting professionalism.

Abstract

Introduction: Increased life expectancy has an impact on the number of elderly people, thus changing health problems and social maps due to a decrease in the productivity of the elderly to organs. Methodology: Research with quantitative methods using descriptive study design. The sample size is 143 elderly. The technique of taking samples using purposive sampling, research has been conducted in the Village "B" Kendal Regency. The instrument used was a questionnaire to identify the characteristics of the elderly, including age, education, gender, marital status, family type, employment, income. Depression levels were measured using a Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) questionnaire with 30 question items. Data were analyzed using frequency distribution. Results: the majority of the elderly aged 60-74 years, male sex, still have a partner, do not go to school, do not work, no income and type of extended family. The level of Depression in the Elderly is mostly normal as many as 53 people (46.9% ) Discussion: Nurses are expected to provide understanding in the form of counseling or counseling for the elderly and their families, so that further research is expected to identify factors that influence the occurrence of depression in the elderly.
