Abstract

The Intellectual Capital concept emerged because of the industrial-based economic shift towards knowledge-based. From previous research it was known that IC had an effect on the company's financial performance. With the competitive advantage that the company has, it will improve the performance of the company itself. So that IC can be said as an intangible asset that has a significant impact on performance and all success in business. Therefore the author wants to examine more about "The Effect of Intellectual Capital on the Performance of Banking Companies Listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange". By using a quantitative research approach, where the population in this study are all banking companies (commercial banks) operating in Indonesia from 2014 to 2017 which routinely (tri wulan) report their financial position to Bank Indonesia (BI), which is 115 banks, then taken a sample of 44 companies using purposive sampling technique. The independent variable in this study is Value Added Intellectual Coefficient (VAIC ™) consisting of Value Added Capital Employed (VACA), Value Added Human Capital (VAHU), and Structural Capital Value Added (STVA). The dependent variable is the company's financial performance which consists of Risk profile, Good Corporate Governance, Earning, and Capital (RGEC). Testing the hypothesis in this study using PLS (β and γ) is done by bootstrap resampling method. And from the results of the analysis it is known that Intellectual capital does not have a significant effect on Non Performing Loans (NPL) but found that the Intellectual capital has a significant effect on the Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), Good Corporate Governance (GCG), Return On Asset ( ROA), Net Interest Margin (NIM) and Capital Adquency Ratio (CAR)

This study aims to find out more deeply about obstacles for local labor (ethnic Javanese) as salt farmers in the city of Surabaya. There is an absolute requirement in the use of salt-producing labor in Surabaya City. This research uses qualitative method with ethnography study approach. Data collection technique using indepth interviewing method. The sample used in this research is seven people by using sampling technique snowball sampling that is getting information or data based on recommendation from others who really understand the problem of this research. The result of this research is finding a fact that in the salt production activity in Surabaya City is required to use non-local worker with ethnic Madura on the grounds that only Madurese ethnic workers are willing and able to accept the heavy consequences that have been arranged by the owner of the pond salt in the city of Surabaya. Salt pond owners in the city of Surabaya do not impose barriers to local labor to produce salt, as evidenced by a new innovation by transferring the function of empty land into an artificial salt pond in order to attract local labor.

Abstract

Crude Palm Oil is a commodity that is quite instrumental in the results of Indonesian plantations because it has a fairly large production yield and export quantity in meeting the needs of the world's crude palm oil. Indonesia is a country as the largest producer and exporter of crude palm oil in the world because Indonesia has vast plantations in tropical countries. This study aims to determine the effect of CPO production, CPO prices, CPO consumption levels, IDR / USD exchange rates on Indonesia's CPO export volume. The analytical method used in this research is to use quantitative methods using secondary data. To estimate the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable, multiple linear regression analysis is used with time series data between 2012-2016. The results showed that CPO production and the level of CPO consumption had a positive effect on Indonesia's CPO export volume, and the CPO price and IDR / USD exchange rate had a negative effect.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the tobacco producer countries in the world and ranks sixth out of the ten largest cigarette consuming countries in the world. Cigarettes kill more than five million people every year, and are projected to kill ten million people by 2020. Of that number 70% of victims come from developing countries including Indonesia. One of the government's efforts in controlling the negative impact of cigarette consumption is by setting cigarette excise prices. The government increases the cigarette excise price by 10.04 percent which is valid from January 1, 2018. Price elasticity, income, and socio-economic factors that influence consumer response are very important as a reference in determining cigarette consumption control policies. In this connection, this study aims to analyze the effect of socioeconomic factors, individual income, and cigarette prices on cigarette consumption in Indonesia. By using a simple linear regression model. The data used was obtained from IFLS-5 published by RAND (Research and Development Corporation). The results of this study found that socioeconomic factors, namely gender and age, individual income, and cigarette prices have no effect on cigarette consumption in Indonesia.
