Abstract

Internship programmes are a critical bridge between academic learning and workplace performance, yet their effectiveness depends heavily on the quality of training and development provided to student interns. This study aims to examine how structured training, ongoing development activities, and performance feedback influence interns’ task performance, soft skills, and readiness for employment. Using a mixed-method design, quantitative survey data from internship students and workplace supervisors are complemented by qualitative interviews exploring perceptions of training content, supervision quality, and learning climate. Quantitative data will be analysed using descriptive statistics and regression to test relationships between training practices, learning outcomes, and performance ratings, while thematic analysis will be applied to interview transcripts to identify patterns in interns’ learning experiences. The study is expected to show that clearly designed training, mentoring, and continuous evaluation enhance interns’ technical competence, soft skills, and problem‑solving efficacy, thereby improving overall internship performance and employability. Findings will inform higher education institutions and host organizations in designing evidence‑based training frameworks that maximise the developmental impact of internship programmes.

Abstract

This study explores the strategic transformation of the tourism industry in response to the accelerating influence of digital technology. The objective is to analyse how digital tools such as artificial intelligence, big data, social media, and virtual reality are reshaping tourism business models, destination marketing, and customer engagement. By focusing on the integration of technology into tourism management and operations, the research aims to identify strategies that enhance competitiveness, sustainability, and visitor satisfaction. This study adopts a qualitative descriptive method using literature review and document analysis as the primary data sources. Selected studies from peer-reviewed journals, government reports, and industry white papers provide insight into global trends and best practices in digital tourism transformation. The analysis reveals that digital technology facilitates the personalization of travel experiences, streamlines operational efficiency, and broadens market access. In addition, smart tourism initiatives enable real-time interaction and data-driven decision-making, significantly improving destination management and resource sustainability. However, digital transformation also presents challenges, including cybersecurity risks, uneven digital literacy, and the digital divide between regions. In conclusion, successful strategic transformation in tourism requires not only technological investment but also a comprehensive rethinking of organizational culture, human resources, and public-private collaboration. Future policies should emphasize inclusive digital access, innovation-driven development, and adaptive strategies that align with the fast-changing digital landscape.

Abstract

This study investigates how tourists prioritize price, authenticity of recipes, and restaurant service systems when consuming Balinese local food. Drawing on attributes commonly used to assess culinary tourism choices—price, food quality, service systems, and cooking methods —the research aims to compare domestic and foreign tourists’ preferences across different restaurant types in Bali. A quantitative survey using purposive sampling will target at least 320 tourists (balanced domestic and international), adapting attribute scales from prior studies on Balinese culinary tourism and food consumption value. Data will be analysed using descriptive statistics and multinomial logistic regression to identify how price sensitivity, preference for authentic versus innovative recipes, and preferred service formats (counter service, self-service, or table service) vary by origin, age, and travel motivation. The study is expected to confirm that domestic tourists emphasize affordable, authentic dishes and convenient service, while foreign tourists value consistent pricing, authenticity, and acceptable hygiene standards in service environments. Findings will provide practical guidance for restaurant managers and destination marketers to segment menus, pricing, and service concepts that better match key tourist segments in Bali’s culinary tourism market.

Abstract

This study examines how the expansion of e-commerce and the broader digital economy influences Indonesia’s export growth across provinces and sectors. Building on evidence that digitalization and e-commerce enhance export volumes and competitiveness but also generate regional disparities and supply‑chain frictions, the research aims to quantify these effects and identify strategic policy levers. Using panel data for 34 provinces from 2013–2023, the study constructs a composite digitalization index (internet infrastructure, e‑commerce intensity, digital payments) via the entropy method and estimates fixed‑effects and mediation models linking digitalization, sectoral composition, and exports. Econometric analysis tests heterogeneity between western/central and eastern regions and the mediating role of MSME digital adoption and logistics performance. The findings are expected to show that stronger digital development is associated with higher export volumes, especially for MSMEs, while weaker regions and sectors risk being left behind. The paper concludes with policy recommendations for digital infrastructure, skills, and export‑oriented e‑commerce ecosystems to support inclusive export growth.

Abstract

In the contemporary digital era, organizations face unprecedented challenges and opportunities that require adaptive, visionary, and innovative leadership. Transformational leadership has emerged as a critical framework for guiding organizational performance through rapid technological change, market volatility, and evolving employee expectations. This article examines the role of transformational leadership in enhancing organizational performance by fostering innovation, digital readiness, and employee engagement. Drawing upon existing theoretical perspectives and recent empirical findings, the study highlights how transformational leaders inspire commitment, empower teams, and promote a culture of continuous learning that aligns with digital transformation strategies. The discussion further explores how digital tools and platforms provide new avenues for leaders to communicate vision, encourage collaboration, and drive organizational agility. Additionally, the paper identifies potential barriers to effective transformational leadership in the digital context, including resistance to change, skill gaps, and technological disruptions. By integrating leadership theory with contemporary digital practices, this article offers valuable insights for both scholars and practitioners in business management. The findings suggest that transformational leadership is not only essential for sustaining competitiveness but also for ensuring long-term organizational resilience in a rapidly changing environment.

The birdcage business is a very promising venture, especially in Dawuhan Mangli Village, Sukowono District. Research shows that the birdcage business has shown strong prospects over the years. 1) How creative are the bird cage entrepreneurs in Dawuhan Mangli Village? 2) How innovative are the products of the bird cage entrepreneurs in Dawuhan Mangli Village? 3). How big is the influence of creativity and product innovation on the success of the bird cage business in Dawuhan Mangli Village? 1) To find out the creativity of bird cage entrepreneurs in Dawuhan Mangli village. 2) To find out the product innovation carried out by bird cage entrepreneurs in Dawuhan Mangli village. 3) To find out how much influence creativity and product innovation have on the success of bird cage businesses in Dawuhan Mangli village. This study concluded: 1) The creativity variable does not have a significant positive effect on the business success variable for Bird Cage Entrepreneurs in Dawuhan Mangli Village. 2) The product innovation variable has a significant positive effect on the business success variable for Bird Cage Entrepreneurs in Dawuhan Mangli Village. 3) The creativity and product innovation variables together have a significant positive effect on the business success variable for Bird Cage Entrepreneurs in Dawuhan Mangli Village.

Abstract

The swift paradigm shifts to embracing a virtual work system necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic have drastically fast-tracked and revolutionized organizational operations. As modern organizations progress in piloting this contemporary route meticulously, there constantly lies the critical need for managers to understand and fathom the significance of the virtual work system on the firms’ operational efficiency. These, however, have presented unprecedented opportunities but have also invariably introduced unique, complex challenges that need to be checkmated. Using the exploratory research design approach and drawing from the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), this paper reveals the need for practicing a virtual work system and supports that organizational efficiency can be achieved through flexibility, reduction of running cost, minimal work spaces, etc., while leveraging on modern innovations to enhance employees’ work-life balance.

Abstract

The ability to manage time is an ever-important skill that managers in organizations should master and effectively apply in the day to day running of official operations. Mastering this skill is essential for employee performance, efficiency, and organizational productivity. This paper discusses time management and how it effects the way organizations perform, behave and function in Nigeria. It examines how cultural perceptions of time influence time and how it shapes organizational performance, employee behavior, and productivity. It reveals that organizations are faced with time management problems, which have become a burden towards an effective performance and service delivery. Through participant observation methodology and the application of the contingency theory, it is recommended, amongst others, that organizations and government take into cognizance Nigeria’s unique, diverse socio-cultural environment and support employees’ autonomy, relatedness, and competence through effective leadership styles to promote time management and organizational performance and also enact policies in accordance with specific regional prevailing circumstances.

Abstract

This study examined the relationship between strategic procurement practices and organizational performance in the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) in South-South Nigeria. Using a correlational survey design, data were collected from 77 SPIU staff via structured questionnaires and analyzed with descriptive statistics and linear regression. The results indicate that effective procurement planning significantly improves organizational efficiency (R² = 0.989, B = 1.024, β = 0.994, p = 0.000), highlighting the importance of prioritizing procurement planning as a strategic tool for achieving sustainable performance in public infrastructure projects. Policymakers and project managers should prioritize procurement planning as a strategic instrument for ensuring sustainable efficiency outcomes in similar infrastructural programs. Managers should prioritize SRM initiatives, as they yield measurable improvements in delivery timelines, quality, and stakeholder trust. The study provides insight for managers to adopt digital procurement tools for optimal utilization of resources to minimize waste and boost performance outcomes and project sustainability. This study enriches existing literature on procurement and performance by constructing a regression model that empirically quantifies the strength of procurement planning’s impact (R² = 0.989, β = 0.994) using context-specific data from RAAMP, thereby providing a data-driven perspective on how strategic procurement practices enhance organizational efficiency.

Abstract

This research study assessed the influence of technology on procurement transparency in selected public sector in South-East, Nigeria. The study employed the survey method, and a stratified random sampling technique to ensure representation of study population such as procurement, audit, finance, and administrative departments. Questionnaires were administered via face-to face to the study participants. Descriptive and inferential statistics using Pearson correlation techniques, simple regression techniques analysis of variance (ANOVA) were utilised to test hypotheses and determine the strength and direction of relationships between variables. Empirical evidence from research hypothesis one showed that e-tendering significantly influences transparency in decision making in the selected public sector. The study recommends public agencies to formally adopt and integrate e-tendering mechanisms into procurement frameworks to ensure standardized transparency. Procurement regulatory bodies should design policies that mandate ethical compliance in e-tender processes, minimizing loopholes that could weaken integrity.
