Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to determine the motives behind the foreign aid provided by India to Afghanistan as an emerging donor country. Even though India has been a recipient of foreign aid since 2003, India has changed its position to become a provider of significant aid. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques used in this research include books, journals, official state documents, and information that can be obtained from the internet. This research uses Maria Andersson's Aid Allocation Motives theory to examine the motives underlying India in providing aid. The results of this research show that India's assistance to Afghanistan is not only driven by humanitarian motives, but also by economic and strategic interests. India has a long history of relations with Afghanistan, which includes support in sectors such as education, infrastructure and health. Apart from that, India's assistance to Afghanistan also aims to strengthen regional stability, strengthen bilateral relations and secure India's national interests in the region. It is hoped that these findings will provide a deeper understanding of the dynamics of foreign aid carried out by emerging donor countries and the motives behind it. Abstract

Globalization and advancements in digital technology have transformed international relations, including Indonesia’s foreign policy. This study analyzes how globalization, accelerated by digital technology, impacts Indonesia's foreign policy. The primary focus is on the role of digital technology in Indonesia's diplomacy and the challenges faced, such as cyber threats and disinformation. Using a qualitative approach, this research identifies that although Indonesia has utilized digital diplomacy to strengthen its international image, foreign policy still needs to be strengthened with policies more adaptive to technological and globalization changes. The study also offers recommendations to enhance cybersecurity, improve diplomat training, and develop policies responsive to global dynamics.

Abstract

Nowadays, the need for the internet is increasing as seen from China and India as the countries with the world's largest population and the world's largest internet users. In this study, entitled "China's Foreign Policy Toward India's Internet Censorship In The Galwan Valley Conflict", the researcher aims to find out how China's foreign policy strategy responds to internet censorship by India. This study uses the concepts of foreign policy, cyber attack and cyber security. This research is a descriptive research that uses literature studies and utilizes primary and secondary data obtained through interviews, articles, journals, documents, reports and various other media which are analyzed qualitatively. China's response to internet censorship carried out by India is that the internet censorship policy for applications is a discriminatory act that violates WTO regulations and the application of internet censorship abuses WTO exceptions on the basis of national security. So far both countries have focused on border issues in which China's foreign policy is focused on critical border issues with India, preventing total hostilities with India and still making India a partner country. The foreign policy strategy undertaken by China to achieve its national interests with India is to carry out negotiations and consultations through the diplomatic and military of the two countries and until negotiations and consultations regarding the border are still ongoing. Abstract

Europe has played a very important role in shaping global civilization, through its contributions in the fields of science, culture, economics, and even politics since ancient times. The foundations of philosophy, governance, and legal systems established by Ancient Greek and Roman civilizations became global benchmarks. Although Europe experienced a decline during the Middle Ages, the Renaissance in the 14th century marked a resurgence of rapid advancements in science, art, and humanism, spearheaded by figures such as Copernicus, Galileo, and Leonardo Da Vinci. The Industrial Revolution of the 18th and 19th centuries transformed production and economic systems, spreading worldwide through colonialism and trade. Politically, the British parliamentary system and European legal principles became global models, while Europe’s cultural influence is evident in art, literature, and architecture. Although colonialism has ended, the European Union remains a key actor in international policy. This study aims to analyze the impact of Europe in shaping modern civilization, both through positive contributions such as the advancement of science and legal systems, as well as negative impacts such as colonial exploitation.

Abstract

This research compares Indonesia's foreign policy orientation post-1998 Reformasi with Myanmar's post-2011 political transition. Through a qualitative approach with a comparative study design, this research examines how the change in political system from an authoritarian regime to a democratic system affected the foreign policy orientation of both countries. The main findings show that Indonesia successfully reconstructed its international image as the world's third largest democracy through multilateral diplomacy, active participation in ASEAN, and promotion of human rights. In contrast, Myanmar, despite showing significant political and economic reforms under President Thein Sein, still faces structural obstacles due to the military's dominance in the political system. The research also highlights how internal dynamics - such as political elite pressure and public opinion - as well as external contexts such as pressure from the international community and position in the international system, shape post-transition foreign policy. The case of Indonesia shows a deeper and more sustained transformation than Myanmar, where reforms were limited and controlled. These results reinforce the theory that democratization does not automatically result in a more progressive foreign policy, but rather is influenced by a complex interaction between domestic and international variables. Further recommendations are directed towards the study of the role of non-state actors and social media in influencing the foreign policy orientation of transition countries.
