Abstract

This research aimed to find out the improving of the students’ reading comprehension by using  collaborative  strategic  reading.  This  research  was  conducted  by  using  Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject of this research was X-C grade of SMAS ShalahuddiinAl-Munawwarah in 2020/2021 academic year and consisted of 28 students. The objective of this research was to improve students’ reading comprehension by using Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) at tenth grade of SMAS Shalahuddiin Al- Munawwarah.  This  research  was  conducted  in  two  cycles  and  each  cycle  consists  of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The techniques of analysis data were quantitative and qualitative data. The quantitative data were taken from tests, the tests consist of pre-test and post-test. While the qualitative data were taken from observation, interview, diary notes, and documentation. The result of the data analysis showed that there was an improvement in the students’ reading comprehension after implementing Collaboative Strategic Reading. In the pre-test the students mean was 57 and the students who passed the KKM were 4 students of 28 students or 14%. In the post-test I the students mean was 72 and the students who passed KKM were 13 students of 28 students or 46%. And in the post-test II the students mean was 83 and the students who passed KKM were 23 students of 28 students or 82%. And based on the observation sheet, interview, diary notes and documentation, the students were active and enjoy in participation and responses during the teaching-learning process. In the other words, the students’ reading comprehension was improved  by using Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR).

Abstract

The research was intended to find the authentic materials that improving to increase the reading comprehension. The subject of this research was the class VII-A of MTs Az-zuhri. There were 36 students as the samples used in this thesis. The research method used was Class Room Action that done in two cycles. The data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. In qualitative data was got through interview, and observation. For the quantitative data was got through pre-test and pos-test. Based on the qualitative data that found, the using of Webtoon Application can improve studenst‟ responses in reading comprehension. It can be seen in the result of test. In the first cycle, it consist of two meetings. In the first meeting, the students‟ result percentage was 32,5 % (enough) and for second meeting, the students‟ result percentage was 63,8 % (good). In the second cycle the students‟ score was 83,3% (Very good). This score showed that the students‟ average score was improving in every test. The student s‟ average score in pre-test was 13 of 36 students (32,5 %). The percentage of the students‟ who got the score 70 and more in the posttest I was 23 of 36 students (63,1 %). The percentage of the students‟ who got the score 70 and more in the post-test II was 30 of 36 students (83,3 %). The improvement  of the competent  students percentage  from the pre-test  to the post-test  I was icrease, it is about 50,6 %, from post-test I to post-test II was 20,2 %, pre-test to post-test II was 50,8%.   From the data,it showed that the improving of the students‟ reading skill was significant.The results of the research show that using Webtoon Application can improve to the students‟ reading comprehension.

Abstract

The objective of  this  research  is  to  improve students’  skill in writing in Narrative Text by utilizing the Wattpad Application at the eight grade students of Junior High School. In conducting the study, the researcher involved the English teacher, the school principal, and the students at the second grade of Senior  High  School  especially  VIII-1  class.  This  research  conduct  at  SMP Yayasan Perguruan Keluarga Pematangsiantar as the subject of researcher. The subject of this research were consisted of 25 students. The research conduct with classroom  action  research.  In  conducting  this  action  research,  the  researcher divided  the  action  into  two  cycles.  The  researcher  collaborated  with  English teacher  in  implementing  the  actions.  The  data  of  this  study  were  mostly qualitative although there were some quantitative data. The qualitative data were from observation sheet, interview transcripts, and documentation,. While the quantitative data were from Pre-Test, Post-Test I and Post-Test II, The result of students’ score shows that the students’ average score keep improving in every test. The students’ average score in pre-test was 57.7, There were 2 students (8 %) who passed the Minimum Mastery criterion (75). In the Post-tTst in cycle I, there was 10 students (40%) who passed the score 75. In the Post-Test in cycle II there was 22 students (81.8%) who passed the Minimum Mastery criterion (75). Based on the quantitative data above, it can be seen that the students’ score showed the improvement from the first  to  the  last  test.  Furthermore,  the qualitative data showed that all the learning activities gave contributions not only improved the students’  skills  in  writing  Narrative  Text  but  also  the  students’  confidence, interest, enthusiasm, and motivation.

Abstract

This research was aimed to know and to describe how the English newspaper articles can improve the students’ vocabulary mastery by using English newspaper articles at  eighth grade of MTs S Babul Ulum Medan Labuhan in 2018/2019 academic year. The method used in this study was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject of this research consisted of 30 students of VIII-1. In this case the teacher of MTS Al Munawwarah as an observer and collaborator.  The  research  conducted  in  two  cycles,  cycle  I  consist  of  t wo meetings and cycle II was one meeting. The research was conducted as follow; planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The data used in this research such as: Pre-test and Post-test, observation sheet, interview sheet, diary notes, and documentation. The data were gathered through qualitative and quantitative data. The qualitative data were gained by analysing the interview, observation result, diary notes and documentation. Then, quantitative data were obtained from the students’ vocabulary score of pre-test, post-test I, and post-test II. The result of this research showed that there was improving of students’ vocabulary  mastery through  English  newspaper  articles.  Most  of the  students achieved a good score at the end of every cycle. The passing grade of English lesson was 75 (seventy five). The mean of the pre-test was 42,66. The mean of the first cycle was 70,50. The mean of second cycle was 86,33. It was indicated that the scores and the mean in second cycle were better than the first cycle. The percentage of students who got point 75or more also grew up. It means that there was an improving about 43,33%. The post-test of cycle II, students who got point 75or more there were 30 students (100%) and the improving was about 56,67%. For the total improving of the students’ score from pre-test to post-test of cycle II was 100%. In other words, the students’ vocabulary mastery improved and became very well in the first meeting to the next meeting. Related to observation result and the interview, showed that got positive responses from the students. The students were more active, enthusiasm, motivated in teachinglearning process. In addition, from English newspaper articles, the students could develop their own personal vocabulary  and  get  much  variation  of  vocabularies.  Thus,  it  was  found  that through English newspaper articles can improve the students’ vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

This research was aimed to find out the impact of using Know-Want-Learned strategy in improving the students’ reading comprehension. The subject of this research was the ninth grade students of MTsS Insan Cita Medan in academic year of 2020/2021 which consisted of 44 students. This research was conducted by using classroom action research, which used two cycles. Each of them consists of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The data were obtained through quantitative and qualitative data. The quantitative data was obtained from tests including pre-test, post-test I, and post-test II. While qualitative data was obtained from interview and observation sheet. The result of the data analysis showed that there was an improvement on the students’ reading achievement from each cycle. It was shown from the students’ mean score in pre-test was 57,8 increased to 70,4 in post-test I and increased to 80,5 in post-test II. In the pre-test there were 18,2% (8 of 44 students) who got score  >  75. In the post-test I, there were 45,4% (20 of 44 students) who got score  >  75. In the post-test II, there were 88,6% (39 of 44 students) who got score  >  75. For the hypothesis testing used t-test formula, the result of t-test was tobserved (10,30) > ttable (2,018). Thus,  alternative hypothesis  (Ha) could  be accepted. Based  on  the finding,  alternative hypothesis  (Ha)  saying  that  K-W-L  strategy  could  improve  the  students’  reading comprehension in narrative text.

Abstract

This study wants to describe the personality of the Islamic perspective teacher. This study uses a qualitative approach of literature study. The results show that a Muslim should have a noble personality that distinguishes himself from others, especially if he is an educator, because in fact the educator is a person who can be used as a role model and example by the person who is educated, so he must be able to maintain his attitude and behavior so that he does not fall into attitudes or actions that degrade or eliminate his glory,  Thus an educator must have a personality that distinguishes himself from others. Abstract

This study aims to describe Effective PAI learning strategies. This research uses the literature study method. The results of this study show that in general the types of Islamic Religious Education learning strategies in general are Expository Learning, Inquiry Learning Strategies and Cooperative Learning Strategies. In the learning process, a teacher as a teacher must be clever in taking steps so that the learning process can be carried out properly and achieve educational goals. Abstract

This paper wants to describe the educational interaction in PAI learning. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach by collecting data from various relevant written sources. The results of the author's search show that the ongoing learning process does not escape the interaction between teachers as educators and students. This interaction is nothing but a form of communication of teachers as informers and students as recipients of messages, with the help of media and channels that have been planned by educators. This interaction is called educational interaction. Educative interaction, especially in PAI learning, occurs in the learning process carried out by educators with several principles, as follows: learning objectives, learning materials, teaching and learning activities, learning methods, media, learning resources and evaluation.Keywords: Interaction, Educational, PAI

Abstract

This study wants to describe the improvement of PAI teacher competence. Research ii uses a literature study method with data collection techniques from written sources such as books and journals. The results of this study show that in learning interactions PAI teachers are required to be able to build interaction with students because learning interactions are social activities between students and their peers, students and teachers in the form of social communication in class and outside the classroom. Competence is the ability, ability, skill and set of actions carried out responsibly and firmly in carrying out certain tasks. Pedagogic competence means the ability that must be possessed by teachers in mastering everything related to teaching and learning. Personality competence relates to competencies that reflect the attitude or trait of being a good teacher. Professional competence is the ability of each person to carry out duties according to orders and be able to carry out responsibilities properly according to their respective fields. Social competence is an ability related to the way humans live good relationships with each other and also how to socialize appropriately in life.Keywords: Competence, Teacher, PAI
