Abstract

Diabetic ulcers are open wounds on the skin surface accompanied by necrotic tissue. Patients with diabetic ulcers tend to experience a significant increase in emotional distress, where individuals will feel negative emotions in daily life. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of mindfulness-based intervention: Open Heart prayer on emotional distress and blood sugar levels in diabetic ulcer patients at X Bekasi Hospital. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a two-group pre-test and post-test approach, involving 98 samples divided into a control group (49) and an intervention group (49). Open Heart prayer therapy was given 4 times a week for 4 weeks, with the research instrument being the DASS 42 questionnaire. The results showed a significant relationship between mindfulness-based intervention: Open Heart prayer in reducing emotional distress in the intervention group before and after the intervention (p-value <0.001). Diabetic ulcer patients who underwent Open Heart prayer experienced a 1-time decrease in emotional distress compared to patients who did not undergo the intervention. In addition, the decrease in emotional distress had an impact on reducing blood sugar levels (p-value <0.001). Patients who experienced a decrease in emotional distress showed a decrease in fasting blood sugar levels by 12 times (Exp (B) = 11.795) compared to patients whose emotional distress increased.  Mindfulness-Based Intervention Therapy: Open Heart prayer proved to be effective in helping reduce emotional distress and fasting blood sugar levels in diabetic ulcer patients. Multivariate results showed that the risk factors of gender and degree of injury had a significant effect (p-value <0.05) in reducing emotional distress, while age and degree of DM also had a significant effect (p-value <0.05) in reducing emotional distress.

Abstract

Obesity Is a condition in a person who experiences overnutrition, Especially Fat Accumulation, Which cause the body to weight more than normal body weight, Indicated with A Body Mass Index (BMI) of more than 29.9 kg/M2 several International Pieces Of Research State That Obese Mothers Fail To Breastfeed Exclusively. Aside From Maternal BMI, Maternal Characteristics Also Support Exclusive Breastfeeding. Maternal Characteristic Factors Include Age, Parity, And Mother’s Education. This Study Aims To Determine The Correlation Between Prepregnancy BMI And Maternal Characteristic Factors With The Duration Of Breastfeeding During Exclusive Breastfeeding. This Research Is Quantitative Research Using A Cross-Sectional Descriptive-Correlational Method With A Retrospective Approach. The Number Of Samples In This Research Was 300 Mothers Who Met The Inclusion Criteria With The Purposive Sampling Technique. Data were collected and processed statistically using the Chi-Square Test and T-test to determine factors related to breastfeeding duration, and the linear regression test with the backward method was used to determine the most influential factors in breastfeeding. The Chi-Square Test Results Showed That All Variables Were Related To The Duration Of Breastfeeding With A P-value <0.05. The Linear Regression Test Showed That The Factors That Had A Significant Effect On The Duration Of Breastfeeding Were Prepregnancy BMI And Parity With A Significance Of 0.00; judging From The Coefficient B Factor Value Of 0.285, Parity Had A More Dominant Effect.

Abstract

Eating difficulties in children aged 6-60 months are often associated with family history and allergies. This study aims to analyze the risk factors of family history and allergies concerning eating difficulties in children in Malang City. This research used an observational analytic method with a cross-sectional design. One hundred thirty-eight children aged 6-60 months who participated in Posyandu activities were selected as the research sample. Data were collected through a questionnaire covering risk factors for eating difficulties, and the Pre-School Development Questionnaire (KPSP) was used to assess the children's development. Data analysis was performed using the chi-square test. The results showed a significant relationship between family history and allergies with eating difficulties in children (p<0.05). Children with a family history of eating difficulties or allergies were more likely to experience eating difficulties. In conclusion, family history and allergies are significant risk factors for eating difficulties in children aged 6-60 months, and early intervention can help prevent this problem. Further research is needed to explore other risk factors and more effective intervention strategies.

Abstract

The Hajj pilgrimage is a significant religious obligation for Muslims, but it presents various health risks, particularly for older pilgrims. This study aims to identify the influence of age on the number of Hajj pilgrims from South Sumatra in 2024. A quantitative research approach was employed, collecting and analyzing mortality data for pilgrims based on age groups. Primary data were gathered from a survey conducted among health congregants before departure, while secondary data were sourced from official reports from the Ministry of Religion and Health Services. The analysis revealed that age significantly influences the number of deceased pilgrims, particularly among those aged over 60. This age group faces a higher risk of mortality due to vulnerable health conditions and the prevalence of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension, which are exacerbated by the physical demands of the Hajj pilgrimage. The findings emphasize the need for careful attention and preparation regarding the health of older congregants. Intensive monitoring is essential to ensure that this group can undertake the Hajj pilgrimage safely and optimally. It is recommended to develop specialized health programs for elderly Hajj pilgrims to mitigate the risk of mortality during their religious observance. These programs should focus on health assessments, education on managing chronic conditions, and strategies for coping with the physical demands of the pilgrimage.

Abstract

Stunting remains a significant public health concern, particularly in rural areas where socio-economic and environmental factors exacerbate the problem. This study aims to analyze the risk factors contributing to stunting in early childhood and propose effective prevention strategies tailored to rural contexts. Utilizing a descriptive-analytic approach with a cross-sectional design, data were collected from 300 households through structured questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and direct observations. Logistic regression analysis identified maternal education, household income, dietary diversity, and sanitation access as critical determinants of stunting. Qualitative data highlighted economic pressures and limited nutritional knowledge as additional barriers. The findings emphasize the importance of integrated, community-driven interventions focusing on maternal education, exclusive breastfeeding, and improved sanitation. This research contributes to the existing literature by providing a comprehensive framework for addressing stunting in rural areas and offers actionable recommendations for policymakers and community stakeholders. Future studies should explore the long-term impact of these interventions and the role of cultural dynamics in sustaining their effectiveness.
