Abstract

The paper assessed the extent to which the training and learning process of civil artisans under vocational education and training meets civil construction employers’ demanded competencies. Data were collected from trainers, learners, employees and employers through semi-structured interviews and structured questionnaires. A qualitative exploratory approach was deployed by using MAXQDA2020 software. Content analysis was used to analyze documents and interview transcripts. The article concludes that at least the hard competencies required for carpenters and masons were well covered by the curriculum and appreciated by employers although, outdated curriculum, inadequate teaching and learning resources, and exposure to practical work have a significant role to play and affect the employability of graduates. Despite, soft competencies including honesty, hard work, professionalism, and discipline were seen to be very important although there was no evidence that they were well imparted. Therefore it was suggested to collaborate with employers in imparting soft competencies.

The study highlights the significance of understanding the specific contexts of these regions and examines the economic benefits, challenges, and policy initiatives related to sustainable tourism development. The research methodology involved a comprehensive literature review and data analysis. The selection criteria for comparative analysis and the variables and indicators used were carefully considered to ensure a comprehensive examination of the economic impacts of sustainable tourism in Bali and North Sumatra. The findings reveal positive economic outcomes in both regions, including job creation, income generation, and support for local businesses. However, Bali exhibits a more significant economic impact with its more developed tourism industry than North Sumatra. The comparative analysis also uncovers common challenges locals face in both regions, including infrastructure development, resource management, cultural preservation, community engagement, capacity building, marketing strategies, and equitable distribution of benefits. Addressing these challenges is essential for sustaining the economic benefits of sustainable tourism and ensuring the preservation of natural and cultural resources. In conclusion, this comparative analysis highlights the economic impacts of sustainable tourism in Bali and North Sumatra. It emphasizes the need to address challenges and implement effective policies to maximize economic benefits and ensure a more equitable distribution for local communities.

Abstract

Enforcing hate speech laws in Indonesian politics has posed significant challenges in the past. These challenges have impeded the effective implementation of legal measures designed to address hate speech and ensure a fair and inclusive political environment. One of the key challenges was the need for a clear and comprehensive legal framework. Historically, hate speech laws in Indonesia were criticized for being vague and open to interpretation, leading to inconsistent application and potential bias in enforcement. The absence of specific guidelines and criteria for identifying hate speech hindered the prosecution process. Political pressures and biases also posed significant obstacles to enforcing hate speech laws. The influence of political affiliations and interests often interfered with objective decision-making, leading to selective enforcement or leniency based on political considerations. This compromised the impartiality and independence of the enforcement process. Moreover, limited capacity and training among law enforcement agencies and judicial institutions created further hurdles. There needs to be more understanding of hate speech issues, lack of expertise in investigating and prosecuting such cases, and inadequate resources hampering the effective implementation of hate speech laws. These challenges in enforcing hate speech laws in Indonesian politics have hindered the protection of fundamental rights, fostered polarization, and undermined the inclusive nature of the political discourse. Addressing these challenges requires comprehensive legal reforms, capacity building for law enforcement and judicial institutions, and strategies that effectively tackle hate speech in the digital realm.

AI-driven influencer marketing has emerged as a transformative approach in the digital advertising landscape. This research aimed to explore the efficiency and effectiveness of AI integration in influencer marketing campaigns, comparing it to traditional methods. By employing a mixed-methods approach, including qualitative interviews and quantitative data analysis, the study investigated the impact of AI on influencer selection, campaign performance, and ethical considerations. The findings revealed that AI-driven influencer selection processes significantly outperformed manual methods' accuracy and efficiency. AI algorithms effectively matched influencers with target audiences, increasing engagement rates and brand visibility. The real-time analytics provided by AI tools enabled marketers to make data-driven decisions and optimize campaign strategies on-the-fly. Moreover, AI-optimized influencer campaigns consistently surpassed traditional campaigns in metrics such as reach, impressions, and ROI. The data-backed approach of AI led to more targeted and relevant campaigns, resonating better with the audience and yielding tangible results for businesses. However, ethical considerations regarding algorithmic biases were identified as crucial aspects of AI-driven influencer marketing. Transparent practices and ongoing audits of AI algorithms were emphasized to mitigate biases and ensure ethical influencer selections. Looking ahead, the future of AI for influencer marketing appears promising. Advancements in AI algorithms will lead to even more accurate influencer matches and sophisticated audience insights, fostering hyper-personalized campaigns. By embracing AI technologies responsibly, businesses can connect with their target audiences more effectively and stay ahead in the dynamic realm of digital advertising.
