Abstract

Lecturers, as educators and teaching staff, play a crucial role in improving the quality of education, reflecting their performance. However, toxic leadership and anxiety can impact lecturer performance. This study aims to determine the impact of toxic leadership and anxiety on lecturer performance using a quantitative ex post facto study of lecturers and teaching staff in higher education. The study found that toxic leadership and anxiety consistently impacted their performance, leading to a decline in performance if lecturers and teaching staff experience these issues continuously.

Abstract

Adolescence is a critical phase in individual development marked by complex biological, psychological, and social challenges. Resilience is an important capacity that allows adolescents to adapt positively in the face of life's pressures and difficulties. This article is a literature review that analyzes three quantitative studies on the relationship between social support and resilience in adolescents in three different social contexts: adolescents with disabilities, adolescents living in orphanages, and junior high school students. The results of the study indicate that social support, whether from family, caregivers, peers, or the school environment, has a positive and significant relationship to the level of adolescent resilience. This finding confirms that supportive interpersonal relationships are the main protective factor in forming psychological resilience. Although the intensity and source of social support vary according to social conditions, its role is very important. This study recommends strengthening contextual and adaptive social support systems, as well as the need for further research on internal factors that form adolescent resilience comprehensively and sustainably.

Abstract

Quiet quitting is a phenomenon where employees only do their jobs according to jobdesc without any extra effort to serve the job. Quiet quitting is considered very closely related to work-life balance, when employees have work-life balance at they work and life, then they will survive and focus on every their task and responsibility. The inability of an employee to achieve his work-life balance affects the desire to quit his job (turnover intention). Previous studies on work-life balance and turnover intentions have shown conflicting results, so this study aims to determine whether or not there is a relationship between work-life balance and turnover intentions. This study used a quantitative approach with non-probability sampling and incidental sampling techniques through questionnaires. The respondents amounted to 165 employees at PT XYZ. Data collection using The relation between work-family balance and quality of life (WLB) scale, and turnover intention scale. The data were analyzed using the classical assumption test and the Pearson correlation hypothesis test. The results of the test showed that there was a significant relationship between work-life balance and turnover intentions and the direction of relationship is negative.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of coloring mandala patterns on reducing anxiety levels among 12th-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Telaga. The research employed a one-group ost-posttest experimental design, involving 14 students as participants. Data were collected using the Taylor Manifest Anxiety Scale (TMAS) and analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test. The results revealed a significant decrease in anxiety levels following the intervention (p < 0.05). Coloring mandala patterns proved not only effective in reducing anxiety but also in enhancing focus, creativity, and psychological well being. This activity is recommended as a therapeutic method to manage anxiety among students. A limitation of this study was the small number of participants due to the semester break schedule.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative force in various fields, including mental healthcare. This review explores the integration of AI into mental healthcare, outlining current trends, ethical considerations, and future directions in this dynamic field. The review includes recent studies, examples of AI applications, and ethical considerations in this field. Current trends highlight the transformative potential of AI, with applications such as early detection of mental health disorders, personalized treatment plans, and AI-driven virtual therapists. However, these advances are accompanied by ethical challenges related to privacy, bias mitigation, and preserving the human element in therapy. Future directions emphasize the need for a clear regulatory framework, transparent validation of AI models, and continued research and development efforts. While AI has the potential to revolutionize mental healthcare, its responsible and ethical implementation is crucial. By addressing current challenges and thoughtfully defining future directions, we can fully leverage AI's potential to improve the accessibility, effectiveness, and ethics of mental healthcare services, thereby benefiting individuals and communities.

Abstract

Manusia sebagai makhluk sosial sering mengalami kecemasan akan penilaian dan pandangan orang lain (body image) terhadap dirinya khususnya pada mahasiswa di Kota Malang, mengakibatkan mahasiswa cenderung melakukan diet, olahraga, dan konsumsi obat pelangsing untuk mencapai tubuh yang ideal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh body image terhadap kecemasan sosial pada mahasiswa di Kota Malang. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan berupa penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan analisis data regresi. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner melalui Paper and Pencil dengan item-item yang mengacu pada alat ukur pada setiap variabel. Populasi yang diambil pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa dan mahasiswi yang sedang menempuh pendidikan tinggi di Kota Malang, dengan rentang usia 18-25 tahun. Pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan incidental sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari body image terhadap kecemasan sosial. Peneli selanjutnya, dapat mengkaji lebih lanjut mengenai dua variabel tersebut dan bagi responden (mahasiswa) agar lebih bisa meningkatkan penghargaan diri sendiri mengenai body image serta kepercayaan dirinya hal ini dapat mencegah tingginya kecemasan sosial.

Abstract

Penerapan kembali Pembelajaran Tatap Muka (PTM) pasca Covid-19 memerlukan adaptasi kembali dalam proses pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh antara minat belajar dan kebiasaan belajar terhadap prestasi belajar pada siswa kelas tinggi sekolah dasar pasca Covid-19. Desain pendekatan penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan metode cross-sectional studies. Banyaknya populasi penelitian berjumlah 257 siswa dan sampelnya sebanyak 149 siswa kelas tinggi sekolah dasar tahun ajaran 2022-2023 yang diambil melalui teknik pemilihan proportional stratified random sampling. Ada tiga cara pengumpulan data, antara lain dokumentasi nilai rapot siswa; skala psikologi minat belajar Darmawan (2015) (20 aitem, α = 0,919); dan skala kebiasaan belajar Nawawi (2016) (18 aitem, α = 0,841). Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisa korelasi dan regresi berganda. Hasil analisa menyatakan bahwa antara minat belajar dan kebiasaan belajar secara bersamaan berpengaruh signifikan dan positif terhadap prestasi belajar siswa kelas tinggi sekolah dasar pasca Covid-19 dengan memberikan kontribusi pengaruh sebanyak 12,3%. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah siswa yang minat belajarnya tinggi dan kebiasaan belajarnya baik akan mengalami peningkatan prestasi belajarnya menjadi lebih baik, begitu pula sebaliknya.
