Abstract

Nipah or Nypa fruticans (Thunb.) Wurmb is a member of the palmae tribe that lives along the river coast grouped in a mangrove forest ecosystem that is influenced by tides. Currently Nipah is used as a source of livelihood for the people of Tabanio Village, Tanah Laut Regency. This study aims to find out information about the potential of stands, the parts of the plant that are used and to study the potential of Nipah plants. This type of research is observative on the Nipah plant. The method used to explore the various potentials of Nipah leaves is done by taking an inventory of the presence of nipah plant stands using the plot sampling method with the compartmental path technique. Furthermore, measurements of plant parts were carried out according to the criteria used, in each plot 3 plant samples were taken. Meanwhile, to explain the use of Nipah leaves by the people of Tabanio Village, data was collected using interviews through questionnaires. Based on the results of this study, the total density of nipah plants was 1,231.3 ind / ha with a plant height of 10.4 m.

Abstract

Mangroves are plants that live on beaches and river mouths, where these areas experience ups and downs of sea water. Around 3 million hectares of mangrove forest grow along 95,000 kilometers of Indonesia's coast, which is 23% of the world's total mangrove ecosystem. Indonesia's mangrove ecosystems are located in Papua, Kalimantan and Sumatra. This study aims to measure the distribution and density of mangrove forests in Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan using Landsat 8 imagery with the support vector machine (SVM) classification method. Meanwhile, the density value was determined using the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) method. The results show that the mangrove distribution area is 2448.84 ha, of which the widest mangrove distribution is in the Simpang Empat area with an area of 1702.62 ha. Based on these results, it shows that the mangrove forest area in Tanah Bumbu Regency still has a fairly dense mangrove area.

Abstract

Land use is a form of the influence of human activities on part of the physical surface of the earth. Land use will increase if the population increases. Activities carried out by humans can be in the form of building settlements, plantations and agriculture and cannot be separated from spatial problems because they are related to land use. Research aims to identify the land use and create distribution maps of land use in the district of Central Kalimantan province Lamandau using Landsat Satellite Imagery 8 OLI/TIRS. The land use classification uses the maximum likelihood classification method. The result of this research is a map of land use distribution in Lamandau Regency which has an area of approximately 486,738 ha. The results of this study obtained 7 classes of land use in Lamandau Regency, namely forests with an area of 182,383 ha, shrubs 118,263 ha, oil palm plantations 74,666 ha, mixed gardens 51,117 ha, settlements 28,742 ha, agriculture 28,087 ha and rivers 3,480 ha.

Abstract

Taxifolin also called dihydroquercetin is a flavonoid. Taxifolin is included in the flavonol subclass and polyphenol class. Taxifolin has been found in the leaves, bark and flesh of Mangifera casturi. Taxifolin is thought to have potential as an antibreast cancer through its activity as an anti-neoplastic agent. The occurrence of breast cancer begins with overexpression of the Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER-2) protein which can induce dimerization and autophosphorylation of the tyrosine kinase enzyme, resulting in migration and metastasis of breast cancer cells. This study aims to determine the interaction of taxifolin with HER-2 protein by molecular docking. Molecular docking using the SwissDock web server. Parameters of molecular docking include Gibbs free energy and interaction of taxifolin ligands and HER-2 residues. The results of docking molecular expressed by free energy Gibbs of taxifolin compounds with HER-2 protein is -7,99 kcal / mol, while the free energy Gibbs of the native ligand bond with HER-2 protein is -10.76 kcal / mol. The residues on HER-2 that interacts with taxifolin are GLY727, GLY804, LEU726, THR798, ASP863, ALA730, SER728, ARG849, GLY729, CYS805, THR862, VAL734, LEU852, LYS753, ALA751, ASP808, ARG849, ASN850. The value of Gibbs free energy and the interaction of residues indicate that taxifolin compounds have potential as anticancer breasts. Taxifolin as an inhibitor of HER-2 protein expression.

Abstract

Research on cytotoxic test of alkaloids extract of belimbing wuluh leaves has been conducted. The objective of this research are to determine the yield, toxicity, TLC chromatogram pattern, and compounds in alkaloids extract of belimbing wuluh leaves with GC-MS. Alkaloid extraction process uses acid base method, the phytochemical tests was carried out with reagents Dragendorff, Wagner and Meyer. Toxicity test of alkaloids extract of belimbing wuluh leaves with BSLT method on A. salina larvae to determine LC50 value. Alkaloids extract of belimbing wuluh leaves were analyzed by TLC and GC-MS. The yield of alkaloids extract of belimbing wuluh leaves obtained was 10, 13 %. The results of phytochemical tests were carried out which showed positive containing alkaloids. LC50 value of the alkaloids extract of belimbing wuluh leaves indicated that is very toxic. The LC50value obtained is 9.170 ppm. Analysis using TLC with eluent of n-hexane: ethyl acetate (8:2) showed 5 stains. GC-MS analysis showed are alkaloid compound with an odd molecular weight.
