Abstract

A study has been carried out on the effect of the antipyretic effect of giving a combination of ethanol extract of starfruit leaves (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) and ethanol extract of longan leaves (Dimocarpus longan L.) in female white rats induced by intraperitoneal 5% peptone 5 ml/head with the aim of knowing combination effect and determining the effective dose as an antipyretic.Temperature measurements were carried out for 2 hours with 30 minute intervals. Measurement results data were analyzed statistically using the ANOVA method with the one way Anova method. The data obtained are normally distributed and have a homogeneous variant. With Fcount ≤ Ftable where there is no significant difference between Paracetamol and the test solution. It can be concluded that the ethanol extract of starfruit leaves (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) and the ethanol extract of longan leaves (Dimocarpus longan L.) are efficacious as antipyretics at doses (25+20) mg/200 g BW, doses (50+40) mg/200 g BW and dose (100+80) mg/200 g BW and the percentage of effect strength against paracetamol was obtained respectively 61.1%, 77.3%, 86.4%.

Abstract

Calcium is one of the essential nutrients that is needed for various body functions. To meet the needs of calcium, the Indonesian people generally still pay attention to the natural products contained therein. Of the many plants, one of the plants that contains calcium is mulberry leaf (Morus alba L.) which is one of the plants that grows a lot in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of calcium contained in mulberry leaves by complexometry. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that mulberry leaves contain calcium of 0.244 % b⁄b calculated as fresh weight.

Abstract

Research has been carried out to test and determine the effects of turmeric (Curcuma Domestica Val.) powder in simple ointment preparations to treat burns on the skin of female guinea pigs, based on the literature, turmeric contains curcumin compounds, and the benefits of turmeric as an antiseptic in healing burns, from Statistical tests that have been carried out show that the data are normally distributed using the Liliford test, the data has a homogeneous variance using the Barlet test. Meanwhile, in the anava test, Fcount was 0.537 £ Ftable 4.60 with a= 0.01 indicating that there was no significant difference between the test substance groups at 5% concentration, 10% concentration and 20% concentration

Abstract

Arabic Bidara Leaf (Ziziphus Spina-christi Lam) is one of the plants used as herbal medicine. Traditionally, the Arabic Bidara plant can be used as a medicine for wounds, eye diseases, and skin diseases. Previous research stated that the Bidara Arab plant contains secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, tannins, sterols, saponins and triterpenoids. This study aims to determine the total levels of flavonoids and tannins contained in the water extract of Bidara Arab leaves. The extraction method used in this research is the maceration method. In the study of determining the total flavonoid and tannin levels using UV-Vis Spectrophotometry, the wavelength used to determine the total flavonoid content was 441 nm and for the total tannin content was 740 nm. The standard used in this study was quercetin for total flavonoid content and gallic acid for total tannin content, made with several variations in concentration. The results showed that the total flavonoid content was 0.0869% and the total tannin content was 0.2864%..

Abstract

Lidah buaya memiliki beberapa kandungan senyawa antara lain antrakuinon, lignin, saponin dan tannin. Kandungan tersebut memiliki berbagai macam khasiat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan ekstak lidah buaya kedalam basis gel carbopol 940. Dengan formula 3%, 5% , 7% ekstrak lidah buaya dan konsentrasi carbopol 2%. Evaluasi yang dilakukan : uji organoleptis, uji homogenitas, uji pH, uji daya sebar, uji daya lekat, uji aseptabilitas. Yang dilakukan selama 16 hari di uji setiap 4 hari sekali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak lidah buaya memiliki pengaruh terhadap sifat fisik sediaan gel carbopol 940 diantaranya, perubahan warna yang semakin gelap akibat peningkatan konsentrasi, bentuk sediaan yang semi padat agak cair akibat peningkatan konsentrasi ekstrak lidah buaya, peningkatan pH selama penyimpanan, daya sebar gel yang semakin meluas akibat penambahan ekstrak lidah buaya, penurunan daya lekat gel akibat penambahan konsentrasi ekstrak lidah buaya, dan aseptabilitas yang paling banyak memiliki respon oleh responden adalah formula 3.
